    Europe Map

With the new DCS map standard, you see very detailed maps with lots of local landmarks. You can see their screenshots of the hotels in Dubai and Las Vegas. To make even just Barcelona to DCS standards... and then the rest of Spain. Too much work unless you have a mega budget. And I think this map would cost 200$.
  2. ---- I know, right!
  3. Updates will be on their facebook https://www.facebook.com/Metal2Mesh.Development/posts/804232772982260 https://www.facebook.com/Metal2Mesh.Development/photos/a.145154028890141.35833.143676605704550/800356110036593/?type=1
  4. Was looking into service records of Iranian Tomcats and came across this http://www.acig.info/CMS/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=261&Itemid=1
  5. Anyone seen an open MP server with C-101 slots? I checked virtual aerobatics but couldn't find any C-101 in the list. I'd guess C-101 is officially in beta until the combat variant and AFM are released this spring.
  6. Super work! I'm also immortal in these missions :).
  7. :pilotfly::joystick::thumbup: Now going to investigate these radio music channels...
  8. Hawk still isn't on steam, though.

    Mirage tanker?

M2M (who are collaborating with Razbam on DCS M2k) made an AI KC-135 that comes with their FSX M2k, apparently. https://www.facebook.com/Metal2Mesh.Development/posts/783545128384358
  10. I hope DCS2 makes it so aircraft modules can just request this data from the map module. Otherwise every plane module needs data entry updates for every new map, and in that case there will be a lot of these threads in the future.

    Inconsequence

You should not assume that when reading real aircraft manuals.

  13. I read an e-shop manager's blog saying, specifically for e-shops outside the EU (like the DCS e-shop) selling to consumers inside the EU, the rules actually won't change this year. Edit: posted something about UK VAT thresholds earlier, was not clear on the technicalities so I just deleted it.
  14. Like they said, don't turn off any axes, just add some deadzone and curve so you can stay centered without having to keep your head in the exact same place.
  15. You can get all WWII planes for 15$ each, if you wait a few months after release. ;) DCS is actually a quite cheap hobby for the patient simmer.
  16. I don't want to answer for the devs, but generally speaking for two-seat attack/trainers like Tucano, TA-50 or A-37, it allows a small airforce to perform training and combat with the same force pool. For instance Honduras has four C-101. If your country is stable and you want to train pilots, no problem, you can use all four planes for training. The Philippines are getting twelve TA-50, they haven't had jets for a while. So in the beginning, they will need all or most of their jets for training. Later when they have a pilot pool, they can transfer more and more jets to the operational squadron. And for counter-insurgency or anti-drug operations, it helps to have four eyes.
  17. Impressive for these guys to stay up so late on a friday night to do this... have an extra pivo tomorrow night. :drink:

    Mirage F1

    :)
  19. British F4F and F6F actually flew CAP over the English Channel on D-day, which makes them relevant to the upcoming WWII map - unlike the DCS 109 K4 and 190 D9! Btw IL2 hyperlobby used to have 1000+ concurrent online players in the past, there're a lot of WWII vpilots out there... :) But yes, they could well be just background images.
  20. Ahh Sam Simulator, yes that's a cool sim. With the Hornet I hope we get some nice functionality re: ground EW vs fighter radar and vice versa, AI SAM operator shutting off their radars vs HARM spam, etc. @BitMaster, I'm not the original uploader so I don't have the source files, or I could've loaded them to vimeo or liveleak or something. you can try a proxy like Eihort said.
  21. I must be getting dementia or something, I was sure he included his sweetfx preset with the shader mod files, but you're right. Anyway @SgtPappy if you're installing sweetfx - have a look at sweetfx configurator, it gives you a user interface to work with http://sweetfx.thelazy.net
  22. If you download mustang's shader mod (which also does very nice things with colours) I believe it comes with sweetfx files. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113374
  23. Just some more context: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=126824
  24. Ditto, very nice.
  25. I believe some items like the virtual horizon and the compass, are off-the shelf items bought from an international manufacturer. Edit: ^what Aginor said. As for "Flaps," I guess that would be an English loanword in Spanish (like virtual is a Latin loanword in English.)
