Noticed last night that the rheostats now spin all the way around without hitting a stop at max or min. Lights, volume control, etc seem affected. Searched and only found this thread buried in the MI-8 forum with no response so not sure if it's been logged yet. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=128183

I'd noticed that on the CMS switches, actually just figured it was that way because the up position was just a spring toggle, but they are a 3 way switch so should be the same.

The two options should be Take Off From Parking Hot, which will have the plane and systems ready to taxi, or Take Off From Ramp, which will have the plane shut off and systems cold. Edit: And the third option is Take Off From Runway, which will have everything running and lined up on the runway.

SFJackBauer's Saitek X-52 Profile
txmtb replied to SFJackBauer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There was a change in the control lua's a while back. The old lua's won't work anymore and I'm not sure f anyone has rebuilt the profile. Just re-bind everything manually in the options. Match it up to what the profile shows each command is and it should work. -
Nice to see they will all be the same. But just a curiosity question. Why is this standard opposite the A-10 and P-51 where the 3 position switches set as left click up right click down? Wouldn't it be easier to have 1 standard that all dev's follow?

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
txmtb replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
This is a flying tank, 2 Roland missiles and still carrying on. -
I think I amassed around 60 deaths in the first 2-3 days. By far hardest module to take off IMO.

No problem, like I said earlier, never messed with it but spent a few hours tonight checking out the different units. Eye opening in a way. The Russian sams are incredible, could shoot down pretty much anything I threw at myself in them. The US ones seemed significantly weaker by comparison. And the Russian chaff and flares seemed almost magical.

Not that's playable, the closest blue one I think is the Roland from Germany. The SA-10's, 11's, Patriot, etc are not playable, only the stand alone ones. When you select one in the mission editor if you can check "Player can drive", then you can use it. Look in the options setup for ground units and the commands are pretty straight forward. Target lock, unlock, driving commands, turret commands etc... The radar is turned on/off with the I key, High Voltage/Emission Toggle. Here's a quick mission, 2 Rolands defending against 4 inbound 25T's. You can change the units in the mission editor to different aircraft and sam units to play around. The vehicles are pointed in the general direction of the attack at the beginning. CA_Test.miz

I've had CA for quite a while and only ever tooled around in tanks a few times. Just played with the Tunguska and Tor and it was surprisingly fun blowing planes out of the sky.

Wont activate in New computer
txmtb replied to RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING's topic in Payment and Activation
There is a difference between running a program from an administrator account, and running it with administrative privileges. For Win 7/8/8.1, you can right click on the DCS World icon, select the Compatibility tab, and there is a check box at the bottom to run the program as an administrator. There is usually a little shield on the icon that indicates this needs to be set for a program. -

You didn't list the new system OS but are you running DCS World with administrator privileges? I had a similar problem a long time ago and it turned out to be not running with administrator privileges, once that was corrected, the registry license keys that falcon30 pointed out above had to be deleted and it worked after that. -
Something like how the Caucasus Blizzard campaign was done with saves from week to week? That would be great for a WWII scenario. Start out with the front on a coast line and progress from there weekly.

Some things to try. Try booting with just the new ones installed, just to make sure they do work. Then make sure you are matching up the pairs when they are all installed, red ones in slots 1 & 3, black in 2 & 4 or vice versa, some motherboard connectors are color coded to indicate pairs. Manually set the timings, voltage, according to the specs, and turn off XMP in the bios to set them all identical.

I like the win+x combo also, makes getting to about any settings really easy.

I never paid attention to it i guess, I got Start8 when I installed 8 and never even looked after the 8.1 upgrade. Good to know though.
-
Been using it quite a while as well. Get a replacement start menu program like Start8 or Classic Shell etc and you can have it boot up directly to the desktop just like Windows 7.

AMD Gaming Evolved Update : Game DVR
txmtb replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not for me. They asked me to send in some logs a few weeks ago, which I did, and then never heard anything back. Not worth worrying about it if they won't either IMO, although it would be nice to have. -
When logging onto a multiplayer server, DCS stops working.
txmtb replied to mjmorrow's topic in Multiplayer
You've got a system that will run a 64bit OS, just that and a slight memory upgrade will get you there. Just food for thought that you don't need a full blown PC upgrade. I think, but might be wrong, that if you have a retail 32 bit Vista license, not an OEM one, that you can use it to install the 64 bit OS. -
I imagine it would be. Waiting for Edge to see what it brings with it, then making the GPU switch.
-
Quite nice system there, sounds like it's set up great.

Think it was version 1.2.5 and later that 32 bit support was dropped. Edit: Found this from Wags last September, post #3. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114584 -

Looks like your system doesn't meet the minimum specs with the 32bit OS? Did it work before? Errors are Out Of Memory in log file. Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows Vista, 7 or 8; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 8GB; Hard disk space: 10 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 / ATI 6950 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX: 9.0C; requires internet activation.
