Like everyone says, I think I had 30+ crashes in a day when the 109 came out, it was frustrating day. Took a lot of attempts to become semi proficient, now I changed controllers and it's almost like going back to square 1.

I would say you are right, most people listened to all the negativity surrounding Win 8 and never gave it a shot. Granted at first you have to use an add-on if you wanted the desktop and start menu back. 10 looks and acts more like Win 7 so people can make the move without thinking there are issues. As it is, 8.1 is rock solid IMO and as chiclidfan stated, I can't tell you the last time I saw the metro screen.

no longer works The Ultimate DCS World JSGME Guide - If you use mods, you need this.
txmtb replied to Ebs's topic in DCS Modding
JSGME uses x:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\ as it's base directory if set up like the thread shows. So when you look in a zip, look for the first directory that is under DCS World and copy those to the mod folder you created. (You may have to search the DCS World directory to find the match.) Some mods of course do not come zipped in a JSGME compatible format. If that's the case, find out where the file it replaces is at in the DCS World directory. Then create the directories manually under _mods so that it matches. If theres a terrain file to replace LandTextures.zip, find that file in DCS World, x:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Terrain\vfstextures\LandTextures.zip. Create a directory to name the mod in _mods, then create each directory below DCS World that you find. So create \Bazar\Terrain\vfstextures under the mod name folder in _mods, and place LandTextures.zip in the \Bazar\Terrain\vfstextures directory under the mod name directory. -

Create the new directory that is the mods name in the JSGME folder that stores your mods. Then extract the Mods folder from the zip file you downloaded in the mods folder you just created, confusing sounding as it is. So, if you are using _mods as the directory to store all your mods for JSGME, it would look something like below. I used Ricardos_KA50_pit as the folder to put the mod in. somedrive\_Mods\Ricardos_KA50_Pit Then extract the Mods folder from the zip, and all the subfolders below it to the above directory, should look like this below. somedrive\_Mods\Ricardos_KA50_Pit\Mods The full directories will look something like: somedrive\_Mods\Ricardos_KA50_Pit\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\Cockpit-Ka-50 Textures.zip And: somedrive\_Mods\Ricardos_KA50_Pit\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Liveries\Cockpit_Ka-50\english\description.lua The others files in the zip are not needed for the mod to work. Hope this helps! Edit: If TLDR, the zip has the DCS World directory that is causing the problem with JSGME, just go in one more subdirectory. -
Whew, was starting to think that was why I can I never find targets. :music_whistling:

It's a dual use button, when on the ground it turns on/off NWS, in the air it turns on/off the laser emitter. Like Gate-5 said, if you change it to latch, a press turns on the laser, and a press turns it off.
-
2 things I do differently: 1 - Change the TGP to point track instead of area track and zoom in as far as possible with the DMS up command, couldn't tell if you did or not. 2 - Use the laser when creating the mark points to eliminate range errors, just laze, mark, move to next target, laze, mark, and so on.
-
Yes, you can see everything in 3D what you and all the others are doing, rewind, fast forward, slow down, etc. It's a great tool to compare what you thought you saw in the sim for situational awareness, and what it really looked like.

Are you using NVidia DSR with DCS World?

I'm sure you will like the F86, it's just plain fun to fly. -

I'm running in fullscreen, same settings as used without it turned on, only thing I did was activate it in Nvidia control panel and change resolution in DCS World. -

Snacko, It's in the global options under the Nvidia control panel, you turn it on and select the scaling factors you want it to be able to use. [edit] Sniped again [/edit] I'm running mine at 2640x1440 30% smoothing. Noticed the same thing AtaliA1 stated, seem to be able to spot things from much further away. Downside is the radio messages are harder to read as the text is smaller. smaller. -
Either my Google-Fu is weak or I'm not searching for the right thing. I'm setting up Voice Attack and want a list of all the radio commands by F-Key. I have all the ATC stuff done but it seems that took forever going into the SIM and writing down each one, then exiting to program it in. I'm probably missing the obvious somewhere, but I'm tired from my all night session with the new Warthog. :joystick: Thanks!

I have 3 different JSGME installs, DCS World, DCS World OpenBeta, and BMS. Each is in there own directory and have their own mods in the _Mods folder of the program. All you need to do is put JSGME in 3 or more different directories and create the shortcuts for each pointing to the correct Start in: directory for the sim it works with. -
Saitek x52 pro strange axes problem

Which magnet mod did you do? The one where you add magnets to each side, or where you move them underneath the hall sensor? For the switch, did it work before the mod? If so, check the wires and make sure one didn't come loose. -
Now I have to wonder how many people are using that password thinking it's the hardest to crack.... :megalol:

MSI GTX970 Gaming OC 4GB First Thoughts
txmtb replied to JaseGill's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Interesting, I'll check out FPS in some other stuff, I usually keep anything that runs with headtracking on adaptive vsync to elimintate tearing, which may be why I don't notice it. But I do play Red Orchestra, Arkham City, Metro LL, L4D2 and several others without vsync on and didn't notice it there either. -

Honestly I heard the same thing, and you can find the threads at the MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte etc with the complaints. I have 2 970 SSC's, and neither one of them exhibit it. I'm considering I may have just got lucky, but no problems here. -
 Welcome to the dark side, I just did the same thing in the last month. There's actually a profile pre-built for Blackshark in the Nvidia control panel, but it's triggered by dcs.exe so it runs from that. The only changes I made to that profile was to set Maximum pre-rendered frames to 2, and Prefer maximum performance. Otherwise I'm running with DSR enabled at 2560x1440 with everything on High, HDR warm, MSAA 4x, and 512 cockpit displays. Curious to see what feedback this thread gets for any improvements.

I set my zones up with a timed output, think it's like 6.5 seconds, which is enough for it to open or close fully, if I do forget to slide it back to the middle, I can still enter commands after it is completed. If I only want them open a little bit, then I have to slide it back to the center to stop. You just need to create a New advanced command and adjust the timings after you set it up. Then assign it to the band on the slider.

If using the point tracker test it first before going through the hassle of removing the IR filter. I use a removable camera visible light filter on my Ps3Eye to block visible light and it works great without removing the IR filter.

Consideration - Freetrack vs. FaceTrack NoIR and more
txmtb replied to Chlebakus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Here's an explanation of the filter settings, it's hit or miss proposition IMO. Adjust something up/down and see what it changes, then do something else and check again. https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/wiki/Accela-filter
