Hi folks, Recently I have used an application very similar to Helios. Fo some reasons I have uninstalled it and it seems that my brain has a black hole while trying to remember its name  Neither google nor forum search helped me. Please anybody.. can you help me remembering that app?

Indeed Bignewy... is related to EDGE... in Chrome is ok. However is not only browser issue, because for me this forum is the only one where copy/paste is not working in EDGE. Anyway ... let's wait for some updates "in two weeks" from MS and only then you might need to have a deeper look into forum part :)

There are mainly two types of patents: - real proof ones - fake or subversive ones. Immersion is falling in second category.
-
Here I fully disagree with you :) I dream for an warthog/gunfighter precision combined with FFB. Patents valability are for 20 years, so that we can hope in few years for FFB devices to come back.
-
NOTHING... they just reserved the patent and then used lawyers to earn some money... I was reading some of the patents descriptions some time ago and I was really disgusted about their stupidity. They almost claim that walking by foot is their invention. "Immersion" is not even a company but just a bunch of such morons. The license fee was too expensive for joysticks because they are not best sellers.. I guess wheels are selling way better and that could be a reason they might afford to pay that fee. We have to admit that is a lot easier to learn drive a car than a plane :D

As far as I remember there was a company called Immersion who sued Sony and MS for using a form of haptic devices. MS stopped producing Sidewinders in 2003-2004... Logitech was affected later on. In the end there are those suckers that made a job in America from hunting patents... we all are aware about those jerks. X-Plane is also endangered by some stupid claiming stupidity... sorry but cannot find bad enough words to address to those morons. Wheels for some reasons were omitted in that patent.. this is why they still exists. PS: found a link here

Subject of patent infringement... nothing to be done until the patent will be aging :(

The powered hubs I have were "tuned" in house by disconnecting the + from the PC and adding a custom stabilized power source instead (very reliable power source). The problem with hubs however is not related only to power but to number of devices that are in use simultaneous. If you have a 4 or more ports hub and you are using them alternatively (printer, scaner..etc) there will be absolutely no issue. But when are 4 joystick controllers which are sending signals more often, then sometimes small issue can occur (like short disconnections, handshaking ). I am not saying that they cannot work, but i am saying that it can be improved.

Hi all, Just want to let know those of you having issues with USB devices due to power drains that I just found out one of the best options to get rid of it. I used to use until now powered hubs, but even in this case if there were multiple devices on such hub there are issue that might come up. So that I have added an internal USB controller (there are variants with extra molex power connector on them). Mine is this I have two logitech Keyboards G510 and G13 both illuminated and with a small display on them, which cannot work together on the mainboard USBs without extra powered hub. Well, the above mentioned card can handle them with no other issues. I do also own an Madcatz mouse which is also known for high current draining... but now... everything is just fine due to redistributing them. I used to have short disconnections of all devices connected on USBs while playing... for now i did not observed them anymore. My USB devices are the followings: Logitech G510 Logitech G13 Madcatz RAT7 Logitech G940 (FFB joystick) TrackIR 5 MFG rudder pedals 3 x LeoBodnar 1 modified gamepad .... so ... they are few of them! Hope that might help some of you!

MSSFFB 2 USB Joystick drivers
Abburo replied to chuckgrimes's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not needed at all. MSFFB drivers are embed in Windows. -
It happens again for me with the latest 1.5.6 release! Why Mig21 license is still behaving like this? Is quite frustrating ...

Hardware Upgrade and no performance increase

Your configuration is not Warthog incompatible for sure. Seems that you are just unlucky and one of your components is simply malfunctioning. I don't think anybody here can solve your issue, but I would recommend to find an specialized workshop around you and let those guys to have a hands-on with your PC. Your components have to be tested one by one... I assume you are talking here about Maximus VIII and not MaximusV111 . This Motherboard is one of best so we cannot talk about incompatibility . PS: indeed, as Gladman mentioned, there is a Q-Code led indicator on your motherboard. Read the code displayed there and consult the manual for its meaning. If you have nothing there, start with your power supply.

Interesting, just checked on my side but everything looks fine for me.

Force Feedback - Which device(s) do you use?
Abburo replied to Flagrum's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am using a G940 (I also have spare parts for it). Throttle was tuned with LeoBodnar, pedals were replaced by MFG and the stick was extended by 10 cm. My son is using a Sidewinder because it have a grip just perfect for small hands. Now, my son is getting bigger so he just received a new toy. Still the Sidewinder will remain around just in case. My Sidewinder is 14 years old but is still working great. -
New Wheel Stand Pro for Thrustmaster Warthog attachment
Abburo replied to ronht's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
How sturdy is this concept? Warthog have a bit of resistance... and wondering how this system will keep up wit it. Does this stand bending even slightly while using the joystick? -
Open Source Joystick FFB / DIY FFB Joystick
Abburo replied to Berniyh's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Heya guys, Any progress on this subject? There are now on market two great joysticks where I can see a lot of potential in adding this custom FFB.... Thank you! -
This is indeed one of best feature. Thanks for heads-up!!

I am thinking to DCS only, both airplanes and helis. And I do prefere the modern planes grip even I do play WW2 warbirds. Even I do play other games like Arma, Elite Dangerous rarely and looking forward for some X-plane11 in the future, I am considering a new joystick for its precision in DCS only. I do not want that these two russian builders to get in competition either. It will be best for everyone if they would be able to collaborate with each other and offer us the best solution.

Virpil or VKB Guys, what would you choose between these two new superb joysticks? Take in consideration joystick only ( not ruder pedals, throttle ). My point of view is that mechanics of VKB looks a bit more refined with that new clutch option which might me useful, while Virpil have an extreme good looking joystick handle. So, what would you think guys?
