  1. Privately owned (RL) Huey & DCS Huey hovering Side-by-Side...
  2. Impressive!!!
  3. Had a similar flight last night... got hit but managed to make it back to airfield...
  4. Huey Hover... This privately owned Huey filmed on departure after a static display at the Air Tatoo at Fairford in 2013...
  5. Sweet! Have my order in too for the three Huey controls from Rich, and look forward to flying with them!!
  6. Hi, Have an open order with Rich for the Huey controls (3x). Ordered it in April this year, was assigned a slot for August (this month). E-mailed him last two weeks ago, received a reply last week. He said he was really busy and getting on top of things again now. DsPallasVI
  7. Hi Razorback, bedankt voor the reply. Am flying only the Huey, and trying to stay within RL limits. Look forward to find the server... 8. Nice train wagon landing. Q: where can I find "Razerbacks new helo server"? Looked around here on the forum but am not seeing any info / link...

  11. To add to will487's question could a Huey of Mi-8 rescue downed, splashed pilots in MP?
  12. Checked extensive list of questions on "http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Stream_schedules,_Information_and_replays"* regarding "Helicopter Operations" and would like to add following question: Will we be able to start missions with helicopters on 'Lighthouse-Comm' towers helipads, or on navy ships, or maybe from a FARP or any off-airport location? * Thanks for the compilation, makes checking 'asked questions' much easier
  13. Not trying to mimic RL precisely, just involved the 'Fire Detection' system that was not being used in the Sim. It is present, but have not seen it used 'till now...
  14. Only the A-10 that I have come across, while looking around for triggers and arguments values... that's why I made this one for the Huey... haven't found anything else apart from these two....
  15. Have put some triggers in place that shuts the Huey's engine down when the throttle is in the wrong position during engine start-up. This wrong throttle position results in an excess of fuel, causing flames to come out of the exhaust during start-up.* After three starting attempts that caused the fire alarm to be triggered, the engine is shut-down for 1 (one) minute. After that time, you can re-start the engine with (hopefully ;-) the throttle in the right position. The throttle STILL in the wrong position will simply NOT allow you to get the engine started. Note: with the throttle initially in the right position, the Fire alarm will NOT be triggered and you can have a nice practice flight:).... Of course it would be rather unrealistic to use the RL reality of 3 (three) start attempts allowed in ANY ONE hour... sort of defeats the purpose of the sim... :music_whistling: Though the RL manual is quite strict about that in the 'Power Limits'→ 'Engine Limitations' section: In this case, you can use the rotor coming to full-stop to "simulate" a three-minute cooling time. Anyway, thought I put the Fire Alarm to a nice use, as I have not seen it ever being used anywhere, at any time in this Huey model. And that while the exhaust flames AND the EGT shooting up into the RED have been modeled quite nicely... That, plus it was a nice exercise to see if I could simulate an engine fire at start-up with the triggers available in the Mission Editor.... * = Of course, in this Sim there's no penalty to be paid when you cook the engine at start-up... but for those of us flying on the 'honour' system, it might set some restrictions that make it feel less a game and more a Sim... :) Exhaust Fire at Start-Up.miz
  16. Whoa, impressive!! Good job! Well put together.:thumbup:
  17. As mentioned in PM, apologies for the delay. Thought I post answer here as more people might find it insightfull. Had a look around last night and found the following solution to your 'play sound' issue. From '.lua' files find that the overhead's Battery Switch argument # = 219. Meaning, the number is for the EVALUATION of the Switch's state to be used in the 'Condition' column. Not to be confused with the Command that CONTROLS the switch in the "Action" column!! * Anyway, the given 'Down' value = 1.0 (Note: 'Down' [1.0], in this case happens to be the switch is 'OFF"(!). In the 'Conditions' column of ME, use the "X:Cockpit Argument In Range" and apply the above numbers: Argument: 219 Min: 0 Max: 0.1 Then, in the 'Actions' column, use "Sound to "...X..."" ("X" = group, country, unit). Select the sound you want to play for the action. Have attached here a few screenshots of the Battery Switch and the message that's created (am using that to test it :music_whistling: Also, attached is a "mission" file where you can see the triggers and how they're set up. Heli is sitting on ramp, 'cold'. All you need to do is flick Battery Switch to see / hear the effect Hope this is of help to you... * = I stand corrected for how the 'Argument' and 'Command' triggers work, but that's how I think the triggers must be working in DCS Battery Switch Position.miz
  18. Thanks for the manual!! Good timing!
  19. After some '.lua' scratching and tweaking, found I can simulate the Huey's 'Idle-Stop' on the throttle control. As is mentioned in Griffin's RL Huey manual, just posted by iFoxRomeo (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142452&page=6), the 'idle-stop' prevents inadvertent throttle closure. For the DCS Sim I am using a RL collective, with true mechanical 'idle-stop' indent, and have now set some triggers to shut fuel-flow off when the throttle is below the 'idle-stop' setting... Am using the actual sim's throttle readings to "catch the bottom part" of the throttle's travel, thus simulating it being in the 'idle-stop' range. Monitoring the Engine RPM also, so as not to have fuel flow shut off when starting with throttle below 'idle-stop' setting. Note: Noticed that every time I tried to start with the throttle 'down against the 'idle-stop', the EGT would overshoot the safe limits, flames would be coming out of the exhaust and the 'Ignition System' breaker would trip every time! * Also am monitoring the Governor 'Emergency / Auto' switch. When switch is in 'Emergency' setting, the throttle being in the 'idle-stop' range does not close the fuel flow. Don't know if the latter works like that in real life, but thought it might come in handy when trying to control RPM manually. Have attached a mission file ('idle-stop' proper triggers set) with Huey sitting at ramp, ready to start. Once running, it can be shut down by simply closing the throttle... all the way... This of course after a proper two-minute cool down period * = would like to hear from RL pilots what the proper starting sequence is regarding throttle settings... Working Throttle Idle Stop (throttle range evaluated).miz
  20. Just checked out the FroogleSim video you posted. That looks and sounds very promising!! Am not familiar with 'Voice-Attack' but from your writings it sounds like you can now voice-control the Huey's ATC comms, right? Q: How does one install 'Voice-Attack' on PC? Download site available? Edit: :book:Found download site...:):) This could be good!!... http://www.voiceattack.com/
  21. Any video with a UH-1 in it is a good one :)... thanks...
  22. Way cool!!
  23. Might be an idea to get used to flying this Huey with all it's "restrictions"; including the observation that the EGT's are waay too critical compared to the RL Huey. That way when the EGT etc. does get fixed, it will be like flying with an extra bonus.... You'll be comfortably within the limits then :):megalol:
  24. Just did... ;-) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2391363#post2391363
