mm.. My huey skins seem to work fine in 1.2.8 If and although its a mod I added a clean windows option (keeping the reflections) in my gauges mod. should be easy to add a windshield marker too. I wish some connect/disconnect gargo light or sound made by BST.

The reason why I like to script some code clientside is for instance to run triggers, give messages or sounds to a specific player that is not relevant for the other players or the server. And it has a positive effect on serverload aswell. But when it is not possible then we have to live with it. Cheers, .

Hi wizzards of .lua knowledge, I am not new to scripting, databases and I am used to find reasonably elegant solutions for the "impossible". The DCS mission editor is fine but if I want to create something for MP I am lost in the Mist and .lua's in no time. (even if I try to reproduce what others do in their scripts and read manuals or other shattered info.) Also clientside and serverside I don't understand in the DCS engine. So just to get a grip on how things work simplified. I have the following questions to try to understand the concept. 1. How to retrieve the online player name? (for starters to say clientside "welcome [playerName]") 2. How to make a clientside smoke marker? 3. How to create a unit on the fly with a script serverside? (so you can build it around an event and not with a constant polling trigger with the editor) I'll have a look at mist.Dynamics I would be very happy and I hope others too if someone can answer one or two of the above questions. oops, The file is still available, but it needs to be authorized by a ED userfile moderator. I updated the download yesterday. While enjoying the new update. Belsimtek woOHOo!! I was trying to clean the dirt of my windshield and unfortunately the screen wipers where not succesfull :huh: So I adjusted a 1.2.8 gfx. It gives you an option to have clean windows while keeping the new reflexions. I hope the file is back online soon. .

:) Can't help you accurately and DCS scripting is new to me. But all actions seem to be build around triggers and when mission starts is definitively an option. Maybe you find more knowledge in the mission builders corner. .

:huh: Maybe the bonusSystem does not give what you expect today. But you can spend it later this month on a new plane.. And on another new plane later this year.. Or on possible new future payware EDGE sceneries, who knows? If I understood well the bonus is for "loyal" customers that buy new products for the premium price. See it as a friendly gesture. It will not make you rich nor ED. Personally I value the planes I fly in this sim higher then the premium price. .

Never the less I completely uninstalled everything and sweeped direct input from the registry again, to no avail... I normally only use profiles of the hardware. Hi, :cry: Before this joystick I used a Saitek x65 all was fine. Now I want to use the Saitek x55 (Windows 7sp1). Profile "programmed" the buttons with Saitek software, no problem sofar. Switches and buttons work in MSwindows and are recognized in the options/controls menu of DCS. In DCS World ingame the buttons do not replicate the desired actions. example: triggerJoystick = SPACE_keyboard, does not work in game. I deleted old DCS profiles from C:\Users\userName\Saved Games\DCS\Config\. DCS rebuilded it nicely with default schemes. I cleared the options/controls for the joysticks in DCS. Fiddled some more but still no luck.. Can anyone please push me in the right direction? So ingame DCS World can read my direct input profile. Thanks, .

The demontration EDGE engine content looks great. Maybe the release of EDGE-Nevada is the start of releasing these "third party" sceneries. Let's hope, one day (this year) we can buy this as DCS-DLC. .

I seen in threads references to a 1.2.8 but can't find any info. true, between the lines there is a community feeling that maybe major things will happen and soon. I am exited too but it could be just a buzzz. Is this just talk at this point yep, could be clouds, new planes, two seaters or other possible functionalities. Or just killed bugs or is there some official thread? no, if there is you immediately notice a beehive activity on the forum. There will be a plethora of angry dissapointment, euphoric enthousiasm and anything in between. We just have to wait.. :music_whistling: .

Teamspeak Phobia. Nice title and I am guilty too. I always use TS in gaming but never in DCS. Maybe because? - I can't als+tab in dcs - a to serious community prejudice - I only can fly and effectively jettison my weapons How to fix this social malfunction in general and use TS? - have no preconception - don't listen to your own dialect, just speak in the language of the TS-host. - TS lobby is like a bar. Chat along or listen and say hi. - for some privacy join a TS room mm.. I am going to give DCS-TS a try. Thx .

hi LoneMerc, If you fly with the joystick on your desk I find the thrustmaster grip too high (elbow floating) Currently I am using a combination of the x65 and x55. And I have to say (just have it two weeks) the x55 is besides good looking, precise, best price, loads of buttons and well made it is also a joy to use espessially with the huey. Pedals are essential. I like the saitek combat pedals, with the Pman mod (remove center dent). I don't use twist from the stick. Oh and I have used almost al kind of joysticks from cougar to CHpro. Still it is a personal thing and with joystick preferences some can develop superior feelings for there equipment just by the weight and price. I suggest filter those. Landscape mods can enhance the whole map. Personally I like the "low and slow mod" gfx Sweetfx can change things a lot too. Although I only use it to enhance sharpness. gives a lot more detail in the distance and crispness in your cockpit. But if you like lots of color and blurred images that is something also within reach of sweetfx. Cheers, .

Is it anger and/or disappointment, will the post help to restore your faith in the DCSW combat sims/humanity? and I do not exactly understand what you expect from Saitek. I advise you to just send your product back, since it will never function as you expect. I use'd logitech, thrustmaster, CHpro and now the x65 and ordered the x55. Non of them where perfect and needed some mods and software tweaks to fit my setup. (actually I like to take them apart, its the first thing I do after opening the box) With regards to "It would seem that this is not a one off, looking at their unsuppressed/bad comments" The tendency to react when unhappy about anything. On the internet often results in mad-raving-deathwishes without much content nor relevance. I hope that some day there will be a joystick/keyboard and a sim that can what you expect. .
