My Hotus and throttle setups are screwed
Random replied to woodsglen's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Make sure you are using the axis drop down menu. Clear all existing bindings to eliminate conflucts. Select the device and control you wish to set (device is in columns control is the rows) then hit 'assign axis' and cycle your axis through its full range of movement. Prop control is something like engine RPM. That may be why you are struggling to find it. -
I vote mig. But there are a few dedicated ww2 servers out there. ACG and dogs of war being the two I can think of now.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
Random replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
My guess is based on the first image in this thread. Note "cats and ducks" along with previous hints F-14 Tomcat. As has been hinted at massively F6F Hellcatcat. As has been spotted on their site and as is "missing" from VEAO's list J2F Duck. Well it fits that first image. Taking off from water would be a first in DCS and quite a coding challenge I suspect. All the above are Grumman products and if they agreed to an F-14 the other two shouldn't be a problem -

I like props too... And I have a theory.... -

Mig25 would indeed be very cool. -
Just takes a few seconds less to load as you go straight to the serverlist instead of via the main menu

Update: still no pitch trim change with power/speed but I'm starting to think I've got a bad install as all the props are rediculous at the moment for me. With axis conflicts and the controls thrashing about, they all take off like on rails with only the rudder control being useable.

Sounds reasonable to me.

First time flying it so it was all mapped from scratch. I NEVER use game mode.

DCS: Zeppelin..... Oh my....

Track files may be helpful? 109 is a dream for me. Never misbehaves!

All of it. No option for that though. If I'm honest though its the period from the mid 30's up until mid 80's that appeals the most to me. The 1st and 2nd generation jets REALLY appeal. Just something about strapping on an aeroplane that will do obscene speeds and ending up relying on guns once you expend your few "guided" missiles.

The fact they are actively approaching devs is a really good sign. I've said it before but a great war module or two would be excellent. Hopefully we will see a module or two for DCS before the end of the centenery commemorations on 11/11/18

Happy New Year from Leatherneck Simulations!
Random replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Happy new year. The engine with a pilot strapped on was my favourite addition in 2014. Can't wait to see what Leatherneck deluver in 2015. -
Just been trying to get a friend into DCS using the TF-51 and it being the first time I've used it a few things strike me. Firstly it feels a lot lighter than the P51. I accept that it should as its a civilian aircraft without the fuel tank in the back or any military equipment. However there are a few issues with the FM I feel need some attention. For example there is no apparant change in trim with speed or power settings. No change in trim with landing gear. An increase in lift is noted with flaps but again no nose down pitch change. This is just what I noticed in some basic flights with my friend. Drag seems off too as its very hard to scrub speed on finals compared to the P51. The free modules are supposed to be the bait on the hook. They need to really show off what sets DCS apart from the other sims out there. I can't speak for the SU25T as I've not flown it yet but the TF51 doesn't do DCS any favours right now, it feels like just anotjer sim. Surely it would be possible to port the P51 FM straight over and just limit the armaments to nothing but smoke and the rear tank to always be empty? This would at least give the TF51 that special little spark most of the DCS flight models have. This isn't meant to be a complaint or moan. Just I feel it may have been overlooked by the community as a whole just how much the TF51 matters for attracting new customers. Incidently I think my friend may be buying the P51 pretty soon to try the full fat version after I explained how much more it offers in fidelity.

Congratulations AvioDev! Things are starting to gather momentum with regards to 3rd party modules now!

Guys enough of the broken record. I've said it before just let ED do their job. Has anyone noticed a 10mph or greater error in any of the ww2 modules up until now? Kurfurst you really need to stop worrying about thd Mk.IX sissyfire the Mk.XIV is bigger badder and faster ;) Edit: didn't mean to sound like a moderator there but it both sides arguments are predictable...

Panel lines rivets and weathering all appear on one layer for me. Is this as intended?

Regarding the horsepower needed for 4k. Currently CPU is king with DCS. I am currently running a haswell i7 at 4.65ghz with a pair of 3gb 780Ti's. 40-60fps vsync on. However I never load my GPU's beyond 75%! So a single 980 is certainly powerful enough and has more video memory. I regularly reach 100% VRAM useage and it can cause stuttering. Obviously P51 guns drop it to single figures but that happens in 1080p too! The great thing with 4k is you can forget anti-aliasing entirely. It means that you only end up losing as much performance as you would expect jumping up from 1080 In my opinion the sweet spot is 1440 with AA on. So perhaps go for a high refresh rate 1440 monitor?

When flying FROM an RSBN station put the thin tip of the needle on the bearing you want. When going TO the station put the thick tip on the bearing ypu want. Each division on the dial is 2 degrees IIRC.

Ah this explaims the problems I was having yesterday.

Weapons.lua&Bf-109K-4.lua-missing loadout round
Random replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bugs and Problems
As I was discussing with Davidred on teamspeak... What we really need is some clever codemonkey to write a little program that can read the relevant .lua file and allow us to alter the belting and even use the ballistics data to help set the convergance (if it was adjustable on the real aircraft, and using realistic limits)
