  1. Will be trying this myself.
  2. I've used 5 turn wire-wound pots for my trim box. Resolution of more than 4500 steps so more than the Leo Bodnar board they are wired to. PERFECTLY clean signal too unlike cheap carbon track pots. If you want to avoid the cost of a multi turn pot consider using a 270 degree one with a really big knob on it... you can make tiny adjustments that way. However you have to be careful not to break the stops with all the leverage. Finally make certain you use pots with a linear response. Most audio pots use a logarithmic response and are useless for controllers
  3. And I bet you'd be unhappy if the various devs released WW2 era maps and units without a range of WW2 player aircraft to use.... Be patient and wait for the maps and units.
  4. Too much negativity here lately :(
  5. You forgot VEAO needing a range of carriers for planned modules too.. Digital Carrier Simulator is the future!
  6. Hmmm looks fun!
  7. Spot on = Perfect ;)
  8. Sounds seem pretty much spot on to me!
  9. Check out Freetrack and FacetrackNoIR too. Two free alternatives
  10. Hopefully it'll get implemented some day but I'm not holding my breath!
  11. Incase it hasn't been stated already... You no longer need to pause the service to get 6dof working Just run rift in extended mode, with DCS set to auto detect rift and turn cockpit shadows off. Also found a LOT of the stuttering issues are caused by SLI. If you are using it, disable it for when you use Rift. It also reduced head tracking lag and reduced motion sickness!
  12. Got a little video for you Tango. The usual issues with Rift head movement limits! I don't know what can be done as every module seems to be released with it. Is it a DCS limitation? Plus the mirror bug
  13. Absolutely. Great partner for the Mig21 and VEAO's planned EE Lightning. As to the usual "not another old junker" posts. This is just a poll. Dont worry! ED aren't gonna abandon the F/A-18 they are making based on a poll on the forums. As to it being a bit rubbish... Thats why I like it! It's the flaws in something that gives it character.
  14. Will do next time I fly!
  15. Why not "sim" and "game" modes like many other modules? Job done. As to the crazy stall, I hope that gets fixed!
  16. AMD and DCS are currently a bad combo I'm afraid. Hopefully DCS:2.0 will fix this!
  17. Remember there are third parties that haven't announced any WW2 modules yet. It's a profitable area so i'm sure there will be announcements of other aircraft. I'd be very surprised if we don't see the planeset more filled out and 'balanced' as time goes on!
  18. Have an annoying bug here... Textures turn sky blue at anything over about 500m... Just cannot see other c-101's until right next to them!
  19. Noticed last night that you can move your head outside the cockpit with Oculys Rift and see through parts of the airframe. It doesn't seem possible using TrackIR though. Will try to post a vid or screenshor after work
  20. One word : Failure. Automatic system that doesn't fail safe? Best if the person operating it knows the limits.
  21. So according to yo-yo they shouldn't deploy but what happens if your pressure relief sticks closed? ;) I suspect this is why its hammered home that its the pilots responsibility not to extend flaps above the specified speed... Because they might decide to come down after all!
  22. Anyone got the time to actually work out the forces involved at various airspeeds to deploy flaps vs force available to do so? Can't argue with physics ;)
  23. Woah an unannounced new module has been released? Is it worth the money? Should I forget a Mig21 SimPit and build a Friesian SimUdder for the milk?
  24. Random

    Inconsequence

The limits are about the distance needed to STOP if need be too I suspect....
  25. I think civil light aircraft could have their place in DCS as it stands now. VIP transport, smuggling and as a basic training as well as just flying about like you would in a pure civil sim. For airliners to be worth adding we'd need bigger maps but again there would be crossover between pure civil and combat scenarios.
