  1. Deadzone would fix that ;) Again a nice little update!
  2. Why aren't I surprised?
  3. If it were optional everyone would opt out... Ok you can rip your wing off at will but you can also turn tighter... Pull out of that 500mph dive Etc. Even FFB isn't the answer. Unless you build an FFB stick capable of reproducing the real forces.
  4. "Just one 980" lol I found the same as you though. Rift dislikes SLI!

    15's day

Fingers crossed we'll see it by friday! Though I can wait...
  6. The poor hawk wont stand a chance!
  7. Extremely important. However... ANY scaling once within guns range will ruin peoples aim. Unfortunately its still difficult to see other aircraft even that close. I think it will be difficult to get right.
  8. Welll it might be obviously the sensible thing to do but that doesn't always mean thats what happened! Tbh any supporting documentation/diagrams will at the very least be interesting!
  9. It's very strange that it has radar ranging in A2G mode but not A2A. Unless the -1.5 degree max downward angle on the Radar just means when pulling lead to hit the target you lose ranging data? So pilots would be taught to manually dial in range perhaps? So could be technically possible just not practical. Just my thoughts on the matter. I don't use the gun much at the moment except for strafing.
  10. IIRC work was suspended when the WW2 modules were announced as an "official" B17 is planned...
  11. Vulcan Victor Ascension Island to be added to VEAO's planned Falklands map... Might be a little bit too big though and i'd never have enough time. So also I require a winning lottery ticket so I can retire!
  12. Am I allowed a Mig21? :D
  13. So long as its not 4k it'll be fine ;)
  14. You NEED 45fps+ with gsync or you end up with a visible flicker as the screen refreshes.
  15. I don't get the problem with russian pits. Real pilots learn the layout... they don't have to read what it says the instrument is every time they want to know thair height or airspeed. Anyway english versions will show up!
  16. Good news. Hoping to get a bit more time to fly the Mig21 after the next update!
  17. Why is it the "i hate old junkers" crowd always has a list of demands "or else" and why does that list always include many aircraft either in development or planned or rumoured to be on development? It's like they don't read the forums....
  18. I saw a youtube video showing the effect of mirrors on stuttering... If you set it to "every frame" you get lower FPS but less stutter....
  19. I'd hold off until we HAVE edge to play with. I've heard reports that FPS is much improved over the current engine so you may not need to spend anything!

    Home Brewing

Friend of mine is planning to do exactly that. Kits are plenty good really and dry hopping gives you that bit of customisation to make it your own!

    Home Brewing

Who knew grape vines grew in London! I've had a demijohn break on me before... It was full of coins though! Went to lift it and SMASH. Do you use specific yeast for the wine or just let the naturally occurring stuff on the grapes go at it? Also what causes it to turn to vinegar? I really need to try some UK made wine, I've delivered to a vinyard in kent before but when I asked if they had any bottles I could buy they just laughed. Bottling day was the next day, hence the huge delivery of 8 tonnes of empty wine bottles!

    Home Brewing

I know a few of the guys here are also into home brewing... So here's what I'm up to! Back in the mid to late 80s my Dad used to brew his own beer. It fascinated me from about age 3 onwards. Especially the air locks bubbling away! At 5 my dad let me have a taste and it put me off alcohol entirely until my late teens and I firmly believe it removed the mystery of alcohol and kept me from abusing it. Anyway on to today! Currently got about 15 pints of my first ever home brew left. It was from a kit my parents bought me for christmas, It turned out pretty well! Only about half an hour's work and It keeps you in cheap alcohol for a month! I've also bitten the bullet and gone all-grain which has cost me a bit in equipment but its where the real fun is! As i'm still new its about 5-6 hours worth of work to brew a batch. I'm rather ambitious so went with my own recipe for the first batch. It turned out surprisingly well! Very unusual but pleasant taste as I used a smoked malt along with more conventional marris otter malt! I like fairly strong beer so this one is up around 6.5% - 7%! I have about 10 pints left of this in a MiniKeg plus 2 bottles due to be sent out as samples to friends! The kegs haven't carbonated well but the bottles should be good Its actually a lot paler in "real life" and please forgive the huuuge head on it. Not sure what happened there! Second all grain batch is fermenting now. A revised version of number 1 with additional crystal malt to darken the beer up and give it a bit more body. Plus an increase in the amount of hops. Hopefully be bottling and Kegging at the end of next week. This one's another strong un..... 1060 original gravity.... If it fully ferments out this could be 8% or so. Probably too strong but I can easily adjust the recipe next time to get it to a more sane level! I'm already thinking of what to do next if this turns out well. A bitter? Perhaps even a Lager if I can find a cheap fridge to ferment it all in?
  23. We have something very similar Shagrat... with jets providing CAS too... great fun having an Mi8 mark targets with smoke for a mig to then deliver ordnance... Then Mi8's or hueys sweeping in to deploy troops and capture the objective ;)
  24. It's growing on me every time new images are released!
