  1. Agreed. Manned missiles are glorious. I'd love an F14 but add a zero and I'll be VERY happy
  2. It's pretty easy. Button at the bottom of the multiplayer screen. Set name of server and password. Choose mission. Go You won't break anything so click away!
  3. IIRC this was noticed when the 1st cockpit images were shown... A pity it wasn't corrected back then!
  4. That's what I'm thinking too.
  5. Anyone tried turning off the fuel pump breaker rather than the big lever on the throttle box?
  6. How on earth do you see bullets in a DK2? I cant see other planes until I'm right on top of them! As to the fps drop AFAIK there is no real fix but people hope DCS 2.0 will fix the issue
  7. Other than clicking "join" there are no requirements though I do recommend joining our TS3 server too on 85.236.100.27:16317 Never noticed random failures myself.... Will check. We use the flak script but only in areas we want to have flak in... Until we get suitable ww2 units to do it properly.
  8. Noticed this myself a couple of days ago while sideslipping in to land. If i'm honest the flight model feels a bit suspect in general. It's still great fun an I'm sure the FM will be tuned a lot over the next few patches!
  9. Well known issue that DCS hates crossfire. Seems to love SLI though!
  10. I was just making progress... Seems view distance is a HUGE factor with rift. I can get the judder down to acceptable levels with vsync off and view distances right down in minimum detail and resolution. I still think something isn't right about this! I would try with SLI off but I just had a BSOD and hosed my DCS install. I'll reinstall tomorrow
  11. Agreed. Also LOVE the idea of bugs hitting the screen etc
  12. Its not just FPS. I'm easily able to hit 75FPS. Rift is primary. Other monitors are disabled when Rift switches on. Still get judder even with graphics at minimum. 4.55ghz 4770k and SLI 780ti's. GPU's never above 75% load even in 4K with EVERYTHING maxed out on a single monitor let alone at minimum everything in Rift!
  13. Its not simply an fps issue with rift at the moment. It can judder even with 75 fps or more. So far I've been unable to cure it on my machine. However, your CPU is the bottleneck. Install openhardwaremonitor and check your cpu vs gpu useage. CPU will be maxed out on one thread (shows as 50% load on a core on an i7 with HT enabled) GPU will be 70% or so I expect!
  14. I'm sure a lot of the problem is that you simply cant replicate the sound of an engine because there are too many variables. They always sound flat in game as it usually seems to be simply RPM based. If engine load could be factored into the sound engine I think things would be a lot better. If as well as that we could have supercharger impellor RPM we'd have something much closer to reality. Now add in directional sound so it varies with angle and masking the sound when something is between exhaust stubs and your in game ear and we'd really be getting somewhere! I guess nobody wants all other developnent put on hold for years to rewrite the sound engine at that level of complexity though! I would like some whistling though when a 109 does a flyby!
  15. Edit: Just realised the takeoff assist is still on! DOH Will redo the vid after work.
  16. You are effectively skidding the tail wheel when you turn like that.
  17. I can stick up a quick video of control inputs to taxi if that would be any help?
  18. A couple of issues. In 2d, your head is offset slightly to the right in order for the gunsight to be aligned with your in game viewpoint. This is unnecessary with rift and binocular vision. The biggie for me is the limits placed on head movement. I can easily stick my head through the canopy and see things no man should ever see.... The offset head position makes this more likely to happen to the right than the left but watch the video and see what I mean!
  19. K4 is definately easier to turn with and the machineguns are very intuitive. My first time, literally the initial burst firing at a maneuvering player P51 lead to hits from nose to tail. Even with the p51 gyro sight I can't do that. I think life is going to be very difficult for allied pilots until the VEAO Spit XIV comes along.
  20. Agreed. Brakes give you the best chance
  21. You just have to catch any yaw early. It will suddenly click and you wont struggle so much any more.
  22. Could be the fuzing? Thin wing/tail structure not beong enough to set it off? I've been on the receiving end of the mk108. It definately goes bang when it hits me!
  23. Agree on the wings breaking. All modules need some attention here... I'd love to see things getting bent out of shape permamently as you exceed the G limits before ripping off entirely if you continue to pull harder etc. Tonight I plan to get my takeoffs sorted.
  24. First module I've struggled with on takeoff!
