  1. Im pretty sure a lot of the trouble spotting contacts is simply because we are looking for a single pixel on a flat image. I had a look at a track replay in 3d at duxford and it made an enormous difference. Could spot contacts so easily as they floated above the background. I think we need some form of artificial spotting aid. At least in 2d, we are massively handicapped at the moment compared to real life and this just isnt "realistic"

  4. I contacted BFF and he said that he is considering trying to make his software compatible with DCS. Several months before he will be able to even take a look though :(
  5. This was like the second day we flew the sabre. People kept forgetting about the brakes! Should see our massed take offs now! The explosions are spectacular!
  6. Vid ACG made a while back... Mauf was stuck to my GAR-8 and we were going to try and launch him up Nitrous' tail pipe! IVO1dp99wKM We couldn't keep him alive for very long though!
  7. Also check the carb heat and ram air controls are fully foreward. Thats the most common cause of a lack of power I find!

  9. Im having issues with precise rudder control in the dora. Curve is at about 20 to reduce sensitivity around the centre but even just using my toes to mice the pedals atiny fraction results in nothing...nothing... LURCH. Isuspect its the dreaded G940 reversal bug but figured I'd ask if people with different hardware are experiencing anything like it.
  10. Well if it's within one aircraft its good enough IMO. Though I'd love some way of actually seeing what damage is done in a track file or something.
  11. Pulling out of a dive can EASILY dewing a mustang if you arent careful. They snap clean off for me around 8G
  12. Sithspawn I don't think this is about the visible damage decals at all. More the damage to be modelled based on where the rounds go after striking the aircraft. I.E. a 20mm AP round in one side and actually out the other damaging any systems it passes through in between. Simple test would be to park a couple of aircraft very close and fire single shots from various weapons through the vertical stab. Shoukd register hits to both aircraft in the debrief if the rounds are travelling through

  15. I'm still finding it impossible to use the trimmer with my G940, its like I can only trim to extremes. Either central or full deflection Am I doing something wrong? or is this a known issue and being worked on? Controls are set as following: FFB on Swap Axis OFF Invert X OFF Invery Y OFF Trimmer force : 100 Shake force: 50 Central trimmer mode OFF Rudder trim ON

  18. Only the port wing. Also flutter of this magnitude would rip the wing off. Completely support flutter plus aeleron reversal but a FOOT of movement at the leading edge is wrong. As in the title its a visuals issue IMO
  19. F104 because its an engine with some wings nailed on as an afterthought. Somehow that appeals to me! Would make a great addition to DCS.
  20. Have been investigating high speed handling of the sabre and noticed that there is extreme visible flutter of the port wing above mach 0.9 at low altitude but the starboard wing remains completely stable. Will check if it happens at high altitude too when I get the chance.

  22. CV1 resolution is rumoured to be 1440p but nothing official yet. Only negative comments about the DK2 and dcs are about spotting other aircraft. But i wonder if thats simply down to lack of zoom with oculus rift at the moment... Can't wait for mine to turn up!
  23. I found reducing saturation didn't work for me as I have to invert my toe brakes. Reduced saturation made it impossible to fully release them I settled for a very aggressive curve with the last 25% travel accounting for about 50% of braking power.
  24. How much should I read into your reply Pman? :D does it indicate the VEAO may be possibly some day releasing a meteor? ;)
