  1. Some light reading: 1031.MAKING THE BEST OF MiG-21.pdf
  2. The above number is based on the evaluation and testing of a real Mig-21 Bis so yeah, it's correct. Whether it accords with the DCS module is what us testers are verifying at present, although I personally have not tested it. Then again, I have absolutely no reason to doubt the authenticity of the flight model. Have a look at flight show vids and you'll see slow-flyby's :)
  3. It's 220km/h or thereabouts, although certain USAF tests have it maneuverable, ie flying at 115 knots IAS so it all depends on external factors/weight etc etc. Bottom-Line is that it can crawl about quite sedately at high AoA.
  4. I have footage of a supersonic run-in-and-break with intentional long- landing and stop as mentioned. With your permission I could upload it if you want?
  5. Let's leave turning alone and talk about stopping :D OK - she goes from 270km/h to a sedate walking pace in under 650 metres. Not too shabby, ideal for short runways, or roads: Have to put that on the to-do list :joystick:
  6. Yeah, they tried to recreate that and failed from safe altitude. Amazing what fear does. Sadly the Egyptian got shot down after recovering from the Split-S. Here's the first-hand pilot account (Giora Even) of that incident: Myth and Legend Starts on pg7.
  7. Why on earth would you do that? Then you should be extra careful publishing media on the internets, knowing that said media might be relied on by some to make decisions relating to the product. At the very least some degree of subject-matter-knowledge is called for when called upon to render an informed opinion. Few factoids: The Mig out-turns the F-4, F-105, F-111, F-100, F-104, F-101, F-8 and the F-106 to name but a few. The F-5 has a slight chance to keep up.
  8. And you believe them? That's so incorrect. Cm'om man, you cannot state that as fact. You cannot turn that well: That's obviously a given. The Mig-21 on the other hand is probably one of the best turners in it's class and beyond. Had you done your homework you would have known this. Search it up - it's all there: Studies, graphs etc etc, it's all there.
  9. :megalol: Another Gem! You must have a bucketful of them, dishing them out like lollipops as you are
  10. Low-Alt Recovery mode has precedence.
  11. No bother, although admittedly it's not so much a 'controlled' climb as it is a 'kick-in-the-b*#*s' climb to safe altitude, no doubt intentional in order to to teach the pilot a lesson :D
  12. No it's not theoretical and yes, very much dependant on load-out. Let's just say my figures are with a bomb/rocket combo, no external tank. This bird is very, very much dependant on management: Treat her well, understand her and she's deadly, nimble and graceful. Take the pi$$ and you're just flying an expensive coffin with a lifespan you can measure in minutes, if not seconds.
  13. At top speed with 100% internal fuel you have 7 minutes, including take-off, before you turn into an expensive glider :pilotfly:
  14. Yeah, small distinction. The mode you are specifically referring to is a rudimentary form of the АУ-КВ (Barometric Altitude Hold) mode on the 25T. Again, in this instance it's basically an emergency levelling mode *probably* (depending on parameters) preventing you from lawndarting: Difference is that you don't need to hit a button: You do however need to remember to flick a switch. Oh yes indeed - no reason for it not to :)
  15. Well then........not much one can say about that, apart from regretting the minute of my life lost clicking that link.
  16. Damn.....tornadoes again. Wonder if they had a CWS installed. Hope they find the crew alive and well.
  17. :megalol: You sure you know how to properly drive a F-15? This is what happens to cocky Budgie-drivers: VdHrGxKYiy8 This 21 will kick it even easier :D
  18. As you have with the Su-25T and the like, the АУ-ПГ mode: Auto-Pilot mode facilitating Recovery to Level Flight at the press of a button. Otherwise known as the 'Majik-Trim' button.
  19. There is no dedicated server software: You need a dedicated PC with GPU to act as a server. Most important consideration is bandwidth, especially upload speed, the more the better. The 159th runs a 100MB upload line.
  20. Pitting a 1950's-era Interceptor against modern jets is useless mission-design. In any event, pilot-skill being equal, FC3 fidelity does not make it any easier or harder in the Mig: It's just as easy to set up the weapons-systems in the Mig and in the end-game it's also just point-and-shoot with the 21.
  21. He's pretty much spot-on. She's a Beauty :) Getting to be my favourite aircraft fast.......and that's saying a helluva lot to knock the T-Toad off her pedestal where she's been sitting on for the last 9 years :megalol:
  22. Above vid Pilot ejected and was found safe and well after CSAR operation.
  23. Kindly post a track if you please, preferably an air-start custom mission devoid of any units barring the airframe, illustrating the perceived problem/issue in the shortest possible time. Ta
