  1. Post your mission here so we can have a look.
  2. Aye, don't even think of upgrading now. Stick it out and wait for DCS 2.0
  3. Contact support: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124718
  4. Taxi onto runway, straighten out and lock the tail-wheel whilst you are aligned, taxiing forward. Stop and take-off. The Flight model was, amongst other SME's, signed off on by a WWII Luftwaffe pilot that flew the Butcher so I doubt many things will change, if any.
  5. There is absolutely no need whatsoever to utilize toe-brakes on take-off: 1 - Line Up 2 - Slam throttle forward 3 - Finesse the rudder to keep plane aligned 4 -Take-Off hC1U9Imp57U With control indicators illustrating rudder input and lack of toe-brake input: 1FYIrkXeDAU It's simple once you spend time and practice.

    Das Boot

Is there an English version? My only year of German language education dates back to 1984......I'm rusted up tight. More to the point - is the English version (assuming there is one) any good? Or does one have to rely on sub-titles?
  8. Wonder if they do Mother-in-Laws? That should scare the livin' bejeebuz out of my neighberhood and establish an airtight perimeter around my property what with her hovering about every so often. Hang on.........
  9. There are stuffed cats as well: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/dutch-teen-turns-dead-pet-rat-memorial-helicopter-article-1.1936058
  10. Your mission soldier, if you accept it, is to take out a single building in downtown Dubai............. :helpsmilie:
  11. No-one, least if all me is stating that the current behaviour is correct. On the contrary, it has been confirmed in this very thread that the behaviour/accuracy is being tweaked. What I am saying is that you cannot expect to be invincible while flying a tortoise in a modern battlefield. In any event, at present a single BMP cannot hit the broadside of a barn, never mind an A-10. Try it and see. Granted, a convoy of 10 or so will ruin you. Again, stay clear.
  12. Incorrect. Both ground and aerial.
  13. An A-10 is a manned target drone in a modern battlefield environment. The modern BMP is an armoured personnel carrier sporting the following bristles: 1 - A 100mm Gun firing a 3UOF17 HE fragmentation projectile at a rate of fire of 8 to 10 rds/min or the 3UBK-10-3 with the 9M117 laser-guided antitank missile and 2 - A 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon, firing HEI, HE-T, APBC-T, APDS and/or APFSDS-T and if that was not good enough by a country mile, the Gods had a sense of humour and threw in 3 - A 7.62 mm PKT coaxial machine gun absolutely free!! And now for the 'Buy Three, Get One Free Option......the real kicker, the Widowmaker package....... 4 - A Computerized Weapons Firing System, ie Automatic Fire Control System with Digital computer, new BZS1 gunner's sight with SAGEM Thermal Imager and Laser Illuminator, TKN-AI Commander's Periscope with Laser Infrared Illuminator and new ammunition-loading system. In addition,a manual override for both gunner and commander. It includes a 1V539 ballistic computer, 2E52 electro-mechanical armament stabiliser and 1D16 laser rangefinder. The gunner has a 1K13-2 main sight, a combined image-intensified day / night sight and PPD-1 standby day sight. The commander has a 1PZ-10 day sight and TKN-3 combined day and image-intensified night sight. Respect the threat and stay clear of the engagement zone, even more so when flying a tractor.
  14. Aye that's why practice makes perfect :) Do as Yo-Yo says and use the assists the SIM provides - no shame in that. Carry on doing it until you get the 'feeling' and you'll soon be wondering what all the fuss was about.
  15. 1 - Line up 2 - Slam the throttle all the way forward 3 - Stick neutral 4 - Keep her straight by dancing the rudders 5 - Away you go
  16. You do know that you have an absolute zero chance of this being addressed on a open Community forum don't you? The granting of any licence is a pursuant to contractual negotiations between parties and is more often than not unique. In any event, that's besides the point: Fact remains that we as community members have absolutely no right to information regarding TFC/ED business practices. It's poor form to even ask in a public environment I would have thought.
  17. Best of luck in your future endevours.
  18. All in good time. There's bigger fish to fry at the moment.
  19. A few FSX Devs have tried to get to grips with DCS. After the initial honeymoon period they evaporated..........Maybe it's just too hot in this particular kitchen, who knows?
  20. Did you not read what I said? I said one set is magnetic while the other is true. How is that any different to your quote? Ps: Are you asking why the A-10C relies on magnetic while others (?) rely on true insofar as the HSI is concerned? Further edit: If that is indeed so, I had a quick look and it seems that there are 4 possible HSI values one can get depending on location/flyable. Why this is so I do not know, suffice to say that I have asked and will let you know as soon as I know.
  21. Referring to the canned charts in the Doc folder? Magnetic Declination. One set are true while others are magnetic it seems. Why is that so? Have to ask the author/pilots. More than that I have no idea I'm afraid.
  22. Yo-Yo or YoYo? Pretty big distinction when attempting to establish credibility of fact on features planning to be implemented.
  23. Who knows? Personally never heard of it/given it a second thought. Care to elaborate regarding planes/locations etc etc?
  24. Inattention to exact detail would be a concise summary. Keeping in mind that the original map was coded/modeled more than 10 years ago, exact attention to detail to the nearest degree was obviously not expected nor required, especially considering the flyables at that stage, hence the discrepancies we see at present relating to airbases whose geographical locations all have varying degrees of errors. Then again, some are perfectly aligned to their RL counterparts. One must also keep in mind the differing technology used in upgrading the map etc etc - old airbases differ from new, different Devs tasked at different times with different bases etc etc. All this adds up to the errors in modelling we have to date - all perfectly reasonable. Yes, in a perfect world it can probably all be fixed, but at what cost? Senaki is a good example of an airbase modelled 100% correct according to true/magnetic and declination values. Others not so much by varying degrees. Point is that to now go and remodel the entire map to rectify past errors in modelling reasonably made is just not, I assume, productive or cost-effective in the greater scheme of things. As simple as that: Honest mistakes easily made that are now beginning to show due to the enhanced fidelity of the simulation.
