Do you have issues with the plastic itself or with electrical components? I have quite a lot spare parts for the cougar laying around. But electrical components only. But no PCB, just switches. Xoxen

Hallo zusammen, nach langem hin und her habe ich mich doch final dazu entschlossen, meinen heißgeliebten Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar einem gebührenden Nachfolger vertrauensvoll in die Hände zu legen. Der Stick befindet sich in gutem Zustand. Vor einem Monat bin ich damit noch BMS geflogen und alles hat problemlos funktioniert. Der Clou ist, dass er keinerlei Spiel hat und dies auch dauerhaft nicht auftreten sollte. Ich habe vor ca. 2 Jahren den Gimbal Mod von Magoo eingebaut, seitdem ist er spielfrei (siehe Anhang "Magoos Gimbal Mod disassembled" und "Magoos Gimbal Mod assembled"). Alles wurde entsprechend gefettet und sollte die nächsten 10 Jahre halten. Zudem habe ich die Sticktion aus dem Throttle mit dem Alu-Folien/Kreppband/Seifen-Mod entfernt, so dass er butterweich reagiert (siehe Anhang "Throttle Alu-Mod Brake"). Die Afterburner "Anschläge" habe ich auf min. und max. umgestellt. Dafür muss man das Gehäuse des Throttles öffnen. Die Nummer des Hotas ist 21863. Wie ihr an den Bildern seht ("Cougar Stick Throttle wo package", "Cougar Stick", "Cougar Stick Throttle package manuals") verkaufe ich ihn in der Originalverpackung inkl. der Handbücher (engl.). Software kann im Internet gefunden werden. Preislich habe ich viel im Internet recherchiert und nicht besonders viel gefunden, da die Cougars rar geworden sind. Gemessen am dem Zustand und dem Mod möchte ich € 200,- plus Versandkosten (ca. € 7,- für D, außerhalb D to be discussed) dafür haben. Es werden nur Stick und Throttle zusammen verkauft. Ok, kind of solved my problem by putting the 8" display from below the main screens on top of them. Then the weapon selection menue does not go out of the 24" monitor. But as always I solved one problem by creating a new one. The FPS counter is out of view now. I will create some own weapon configuration and live with the first issue as I like to see the FPS without the usage of Fraps. One last try is to put all screens side by side, but this creates a resolution of 7680x1200. Will see if this works. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you. Xoxen P.S.: I have to mention that part of the 8" displays are covered by the frame of the Cougar MFDs. Thats why I don't see the FPS. Edit: I solved my problem by placing all 5 screens beside of each other with a new resolution of 7680x1200 which works like charm. Attached pictures show the result.

Dear all, I recently updated my Cougar MFDs with some 8" screens. Works perfect but now I´m facing some issues. When I´m sitting in the plane and want to change my weapon setup the "drop down" menu for the rockets is very long. Unfortunately it gets out of sight. My monitor setup is as follows. 1 24" (1920x1200) display in center as main screen. 1 19" (1280x1024) display on the left for Helios, the same on the right but a 24" (1920x1200) one. Below the 19" I have placed one of the 8" (1280x720) and the other is below the right 24". So the cockpit is only on the center 24" but the drop down menu goes out of sight anyway. Is it possible to do anything to get rid of this? Having all 5 displays side by side could work but isn´t there a limit in max width? A small hint would be great. A Happy New Year to all of you. Hi, I just transfered from a GTX 760 to a GTX 970. I use 3 monitors and Helios was running fine so far on two of them. With the new card I´m facing an issue I have no clue where it comes from. The dark surface of the instruments in Helios are flickering. It´s more like tearing, no idea what is the correct term in english. I cannot make a screenshot to display this but maybe others with the same issue know what I´m talking about. The strange thing is that it is only on one display. I have 2x24" v@1920x1200, 60Hz and 1x 19" @1280x1024 60Hz. It happens on one of the 24" displays. It is independend of the version of DCS. It happens in 2.0, 1.5 and 1.2. Helios itself is running OK, I have the feeling even faster than before with the old card. Anybody? The class? Thanks, Xoxen

I've noticed the taxilines appearing close in front of the airplane.This is the problem I have with 1.5 as well and only can sort this out by maxing out the anisotropic filter to 16x. Xoxen

For me it's opposite. In F2 view it's very smooth with higher fps than in cockpit view. In cockpit view I still have good fps (around 40) but the terrain looking to the side is not as fluent. It's not really stutters but like moving slow and fast, slow and fast and so on. Already thought about vram. The 2Gb I have are full. Xoxen

Hi, yesterday I had 5 CTD´s on 3 servers. Simply during the flight to the target area, nothing specific I did all the 5 times. Strange thing was that one mate had 2 of the 5 crashes at the same time while another was flying without major issues (beside of the SA-15 hit ;) ). Attached are the log files from all flights/crashes. I hope this helps. I didn´t have so much issues before in an MP flight. Xoxen Logs.zip

It´d be great to have a better and more precise slew control. Even with modified axis it is very hard to slew slow in the center and fast at the edges as they are too close together. This is the only point where I really miss my good old Cougar. A short update would be great as I´m also very very interested as well.

After yesterdays update everything works for me now. The background of the "export" displays is black again, the fonts aren't blurry anymore and now I can read the FPS. Problem solved, at least for me. Thanks ED for the quick fix. Xoxen

We have the same graphic card. Maybe has to do with this. Will try the anti aliasing and anisotropic settings. Lower settings in general didn't do the thing. Xoxen. P.S.: Raising the Anisotropic Filtering made it for me. I have no idea about the FPS as I cannot read it but the view distance and detail of the runway is like I expect it. Many thanks to xaoslaad for the advise.

Could there be a relation between the amount of vram and this behavior? I maxed out everything as mentioned but have 2gb vram "only". I will try lower settings and watch this tonight. If I find something I will share.

I have the same issue, all maxed out, taxiing lines appear very late and are washed out.

This picture shows the actual problem I have. I have the static images and also blurry fonts in the exports of the CDU, CMSC and RWR. Additionally I´m not able to read the FPS when hitting LCTL Pause. I see the writing "FPS" and then there are numbers or letters on top of each other behind it making it impossible to read. Hope this helps to sort out the problem. Xoxen

I believe the extra time to wait for 1.5 is well spent. I´d love to see it but actually the Sim already rocks.

I just saw this thread, must have overseen it before. I have a Cougar and bought a Warthog Extension for it. At the base everything works like charm. At the stick there must be a slight difference. When I wanted to tighten the nut of the Cougar stick to the extension I was not able to get it stiff. I still was able to rotate it, even though with a higher force. I was able to solve this by adding a paper washer (normally used at water pipes) and put it between the lower part of the stick and the nut of the stick (see attached picture). Edit: A paper washer, because I needed to cut the "ring" to get it installed. Paper is flexible and made it easy, plastic would do it as well. Now I have a Warthog as well I did not need to do anything. Everything was fine. Maybe the extension itself made the difference, it was a one I bought over ebay in Germany from a German provider. But I just wanted to highlight that there is a small difference. In my opinion its the length of the thread of the nut at the stick. Hope this helps. Xoxen
