  1. Nice! Thanks for sharing! So with the enclosed cockpit and the screens enclosed around you does it feel close to the same immersion feeling as VR. Do you prefer VR over this setup? To be able to just render the map around your cockpit like this has to feel pretty immersive?
  2. I have the Rift and bought the Pimax 4k on sale at a later date to try it. I wanted to see the higher resolution and it does, I can remember looking out of the cockpit at the ground about 15k ft and seeing the edge of the river and edge of the mountains. . My opinion is that it was not full 3d I kind felt like I had 2d screens strapped to my head. The presence was not fully immersive. Maybe it was how it was built with the lens maybe a tad to far from the screens or maybe your eyes. Kind of felt like Binoculars. Then the other thing was 3 dof. In using the Rift with 6dof. then moving to a 3dof and to move in the direction not support was instant nausea! If you can fix the 3dof and make it 6dof with some other equipment. Price wise you be spending same amount or more. You might as well get the one of the mainstream headsets with good tracking.
  3. Very nice! I am correct that the screens are attached to the cockpit?
  4. Nice thanks for the tips. I have not made any changes to Cura other then messing around with temp and layer height and speed. I did upgrade to the E3dV6 hot end and tried printing this poly carbonate mixed with something else, So it's not 100% Poly carb. Polymaker is the company It called PolyMaker PC MAX. It's really rock solid prints but I couldn't keep it from warping on the Big prints. Tried covering the printer to keep the heat in. Plus the company recommends after you print with it to place it in the oven on low temp to finish annealing the part.I kind of shy'd away from the PC MAX. I also use Buildtak sheet for good bed adhesion. Its works really good at sticking prints to bed. For Buildtak if you not careful I have damaged the sheet and had to replace it cause the print got stuck to the sheet and came off with the print. Right now I am using Polymakers PLA PolyMax filament I printed up the Bottom Nut to your EXT. The Polymax is supposed to be stronger then standard PLA. And it feels stronger I have not found the right temp setting yet for the new filament. So some of the prints are a little rough this is at .2 layer height with 50 infill.
  5. Hi terry want to say good job on the EXT. Also I agree the Anycubic I3 is a great beginner printer. I have one and it pretty good out of the box. Just FYI if anyone is on the fence I got mine from Gearbest.com and they have good sales from time to time. I have seen them as low as $279. But anyways wondering Terry what all brands for filament you using? Just taking a real world tally, I have had 3 rolls of different manufacture's PLA and they all are different in strength and characteristics. I cruise the Youtube for reviews but I feel sometimes they are biased a little! Just curious your favorite one? Thanks!
  6. Just for 2 cents worth I have 3 ssd's Windows 10 on one 223GB SSD "C:" drive. Then in windows I spanned the other 2x223GB SSD's as one "F:" drive for 447GB
  7. Congrats!!
  8. Hi I was wondering on the Leobodnar BU0836X is there a way to adjust the amount of time the encoder fires. Example I built a radio panel with 6 encoders with MMJoy to be able to change the freq on the a10c radios I placed 6 encoders with 20 detents for one full revolution of the encoder. Every click was one button press. So to change freq on radio I had to adjust the millseconds for one click for one number on the radio. At first the it fired too fast at around 30 milliseconds it took 2 or 3 clicks to move one number then i adjusted it to 100 milliseconds and it held the button to long it rotated the radio to many numbers with one click. It might be timing on the encoder. I have never used Leobodnar BU0836X boards just a thoguht.
  9. To my knowledge no. Unless ED programs the functions in the axis section axis can not be assigned to the key press function. I understood what you were asking that's why I pointed out the rotary encoders. Its the axis work around for the key press. second thought, Wondering have you heard of JoytoKey. I have not used it myself but maybe that might be of use. Maybe some on who used it might chime in about axis to key press!
  10. Sorry misunderstood! These can be used as button function. Or every type of button. Just roll the wheel up for one button and down for another when your in the function window! These are axis section only
  11. I hope I 'm not slowing the thread down on something you might of tried all ready down but I used to fly with the X52pro and some of my buttons didn't work till I made a profile in there software like pinky shift button on stick or I think the little button in the middle of the lower axis wheel. The 2 rotary wheels next to the LCD panel are consider button press there are rotary encoders with detents so I used those in the keyboard sections go to lets say flaps down or to change radio freq and scroll the wheel one way and it will populate the button number assignment. Once I had a friend that couldn't assign controls all at once but one function at a time. I know this a different game since 1.5xx but the bug was assign button click ok close the control panel reopen do another function. These are all the things I remember with my x52pro.
  12. Maybe this place can help. I know they can make abunch of a10c "Thunderbolt" panels. http://pcflights.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=47_62 .
  13. If it were to become a option later in life who would make it compatible with DCS would that be ED thing or would the Haptx company making a mod or port to work in DCS? And I am just dreaming here but could you imagine with that glove opening the Spitfire canopy sticking your hand out and feel the prop wash. Or you could actually grab the side of the aircraft to lean and look out of the cockpit. Just dreaming.
  14. Wow that is cool! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Very cool!!
  16. I am reading like its a list of compatibility with DX11, OpenGL and built in to Unreal and Unity engines. Maybe this is for a developer so if your game engine is anything other then Unreal or Unity you can program it in to your game engine.
  17. Interesting read! Did you happen to look at the webpage for Sensics zSight in the compare table. this is cool! http://sensics.com/portfolio-posts/zsight-fl/
  18. Buttons 1 - 12 in mmjoy is reserved for Encoders. Not 100% but i believe Its hardcoded in MMjoy no way to change it. When I added 6 encoders to my radio panel I had to go thru all the buttons again.
  19. I am just curious on how much of this was Odyssey's fault that didn't improve DCS. Wouldn't DCS rendered distance. Or DCS reprogrammed 3d rendered distance be locked so not matter what VR HMD you use it would not look improved? I am no expert in VR but I think there has to be some point to were it has to stop. Like some games I have played built for VR seem linear and there textures and colors are painted different. DCS is beautiful and high textured in 2d but its to much information to rendered it in 3d as far a you should be able to see. Maybe DCS is locked to current VR standards in resolution! Just a thought!
  20. No worries I hope you feel better soon. Thanks!
  21. I might also be wrong here! I was under the impression that the the Pimax 8K and the CV1 and Vive were two different technologies of headsets. CV1 and Vive are display devices only that relies 100% on the computer to render the 3d image in the headset. The Pimax has software that compress the signal from the video card and hardware in the headset that upscale it to the better rez. So taking some of the load off the computer for a better picture!
  22. Wow! interesting. Wonder what happened?
  23. Nice! Glad you got it working. I was curious on your settings and performance? When you get a chance to comment on the "viewable distance". And in general spotting I guess? I know this might be a mute point. Just thought I would ask. Thanks!
  24. Nice! Can you tell what model? As long as it is the Av8 "B" it should be close to the correct dimensions like rail size to hold the panels. Maybe there might be slight changes in panels. If its the A or C thats probably would be way different.
