  1. I guess it is a mistake, patch date is never set so much forward. I wrote to bignewy to check it. Edit: 1st March is correct, I expect MT arrival.
  2. There is hotfix coming so cross fingers it will not mess things again
  3. You guys are awesome bunch. Also for patience when explaining stuff to helpless pilots.
  4. 1.77 MB is OpenComposite, some 500+kB is the DCS native one.
  5. You also need to swap openvr_api.dll to get motion smoothing working in OpenComposite. Fact is, DCS openXR method gives perceptibly better performance than OC with turbo/smoothing off. If you pile DLSS, MT, Vulkan on it..
  6. Probably of you check more simulators in the toolkit bottom.
  7. WOOHOO I run DCS 2.8.2 in OpenXR with repro on! 1/ I put some old openvr_api.dll from above post into the game folder 2/ I deleted that --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR addition from the DCS shortcut 3/ I made sure in SteamVR settings there is SteamVR set as OpenXR runtime (inside dev section) 4/ I checked opencomposite dcs.exe in OpenXR Toolkit 5/ I enabled Motion Smoothing both in OpenXR Tools and in Toolkit in-game transparent menu restarted and for the first time understood what reprojection does (it never worked for me before) - holy man it is smooth, even sometimes the picture blobs like when matrix was disturbed.
  8. Reset the toolkit's turbo mode OFF and switch off motion smoothing.
  9. I guess you need to input the command line into the properties of DCS shortcut you start DCS with. --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR
  10. The same here. Tried OXR in despair twice and got even worse performance. Now, limiting fps to 45 in toolkit and engaging foveate something, at 100% resolution, DCS PD 1.0, no motion smoothing I can even switch 4xMSAA (never possible before), 16xAF, extreme visibility and global cockpit illumination, OK I admit that was too much but still better than with SteamVR. Horizon ghosts when rolling but overall feeling is very smooth. With the coming hotfix I will try MR, upscaling and with DLSS, MT and Vulcan on top I guess my 3070 will last.
  11. You still can run it via SteamVR. Devs work on the reprojection bug.
  12. Will introduction of MT make DCS 2.9 or straight into 3.0? Or MT 2.9, Vulkan 3.0?
  13. After much experimenting it is obvious that this hack works. Ground shadows must be off, otherwise results are inconsistent (F-14 Nevada free flight has stutters and F-5 has not), but Sturmovik now runs awesome as well (got bad at the same time after SteamVR reinstall). Who thinks he can find the issue, here is the old "good" (left) and the new "bad" (right) steamvr.vrsettings file.
  14. I used to have very good performance in VR with my 5600x, RTX 3070, SSD and 32GB RAM - 100%/1.0 resolution, 2xMSAA, full shadows etc. Until back in October I reinstalled the whole Windows Media Reality/WMR for SteamVR/SteamVR and DCS performance got just awful, then 2.8 beta came on top but I was busy with Condor 2 anyway. Today I remembered how I fixed my VR performance back in April after SteamVR reinstall: before it, I backed up steamvr.vrsettings and steamapps.vrmanifest from Steam/config folder and after plugging them back, VR was smooth as before. I kept those files and now tried the same procedure and it worked like a miracle: you do a full roll above Kobuleti in Harrier free flight and not a single tree or house stutters! I compared the content of both steamvr.vrsettings files and there were some differences. Then, from curiosity I put the "bad" file back and DSC just ran smoothly as before. Thinking the second file is the culprit, I put the "bad" steamapps.vrmanifest file back as well and guess what, DCS runs awesome with the same original "bad" files. I have no explanation, but if anyone wants to try, both "good" files are attached. vrfix.zip
  15. Put the ground shadows to default. You will get better visuals for less penalty than with flat (this is the 2.8.1 situation now).
  16. Yes, most easily by using "DCS update utility" tool.
  17. Some people have better fps and some worse, even with the same hardware. You need to try it.
  18. I did some tests with 5600x/3070 and there is not perceptible difference between ground shadows off and default. Flat seem to be worse than those two. I also tried to limit the visibility of objects by altering the graphics.lua LodMut (or whatever it is called) parameter but as I fly relatively simple missions with not many objects, there was no change. There seems to be some deeper problem than just shadows. Even if I set all settings to minimum, the game is far from fluid. The game WAS totally fluid above big cities with very high settings in 2.7 until I reinstalled Windows Media Reality, then it got such bad that even 2.8 update did not make any change.
  19. Jakes try to kill the holographicshell service (google it). I get nauseating screen jerking if I do not.
  20. Double left click the light grey VAICOM icon in the left of the taskbar and the settings menu pops out. My "configuration" command does not call it either.
  21. Yes the holographic fix is still a must for me. It was not stuttering but crazy jinking of the whole screeen. I feel the sim runs better as well with it.
  22. After the latest 22h2 update I need to stop the holographicshell again, otherwise I am getting after some flying time horrible jitter.
  23. I have found I need to stop the holographic shell proces again. What Microsoft doing.
  24. Hello all, recently a horrible jitter has appeared on my Reverb G2/Win11/5600x/3070/32GB. First few minutes of flight are ok, then even the smallest move of head causes jittering of the view so DCS is unflyable. Jitter is not present on screen, only in VR. It jitters in 2.7 version, with different Nvidia drivers and settings. It cannot be removed by switching to map or external views and is not affected by various versions/betas/lkgs of WMR for SteamVR or SteamVR. It appeared around some recent 11H22 updates. IL-2 and Condor2 are fine. Anyone has the same problem?
