  1. I would like to kick start or re kick start a topic discussing a dedicated Naval module and interest for such future content. Personally, I think there is so much potential out there for WW2 Naval modules and the ability to do them well. I think the incorporation of a Naval simulation to include ships with multiple stations for single or coop play along with submarine warfare would be a game changer for DCS WW2 and maybe even more modern Naval units. There are currently a lot of good WW2 ship museums and documentation out there to be able to utilize for a project like this. Here in Texas, we have the USS Texas (BB35 Battleship), USS Stewart (Fletcher Class Destroyer), USS Cavala (Gato Class sub), and the USS Lexington (Carrier CV-16). The opportunity for 3D scans, photogrammetry, and loads of documentation is abundant. There are many other Naval museums like this scattered around the US as well to include several huge battleships from the war. The purpose of starting this thread is to see if there is interest in these types of modules and to tie Wags @Wags, Nineline @NineLine, and @BIGNEWY in just to keep them in the loop for possible interest. There are some older sims out there I feel started off well and have the foundation of what ED could possibly do and improve upon if they were to go down the road of Naval modules/combat. I will post my videos and ideas in this thread and would highly encourage anyone to do the same if they are interested in seeing something like this in DCS World. I think it's important to keep these ideas flowing so ED can see if there is interest there or not. What I do not want to see is this thread get shut down because someone goes off in the weeds talking sierra. If you think this is a bad idea and do not support Naval modules cool, just say that and be respectful with constructive feedback. I will kick this off with saying a destroyer module would be awesome for the WW2 Pacific and Atlantic maps we have. There is a destroyer sim out there now I will demonstrate in the video below. ED already seems to be on the path of dedicated ship modules with the super carrier. I feel working multiple stations for a dedicated ship module is not an unrealistic goal. The video below was solo, but I could imagine a DCS dedicated ship where coop is optional having someone at the helm, the sonar station, CIC, lookout, weapons systems, ect..... The video below is a taste of what could be an amazing start to Naval modules in DCS World and what it could turn into. Two ships working in coordination to keep Subs away from the fleet would be beyond immersive and fun. Imagine online play where Corsairs are launching to go achieve an objective and maybe through some real time strategy or AI element, subs are sent to attack the fleet and the destroyer have to keep them away or destroy them. I demonstrate this in the video below. Just in this small area it took a lot of coordination and work chasing 2 U-boats around to keep them off the fleet. This could lead into submarine combat down the road where players command U-Boats or US Gato class subs, but at launch, AI subs could be used for the module along with attacking AI ships and aircraft. I think this would be a huge hit and new genre for DCS world.
  2. @Scoobyon Scoobs, any time frame or rough estimate on the old girl? You guys are going to turn heads. Your work is nothing short of phenomenal and already greatly appreciated. Look forward to another progress video.
  3. The F-4U corsair was released by Magnitude 3 and I am landing on the aircraft carrier provided with that module. What I am demonstrating in the videos above is the assets Hawkeye has brought to the table for Pacific AI needs. Eagle Dynamics is going to release a Pacific Asset packs with pretty much everything in it, but Hawkeyes mods are OUTSTANDING if you prefer not to purchase an asset pack. I wanted to promote all the hard work and let everyone know there is a substantial free solution out there that works great.
  4. I have not done a video on it yet, but tested the AI Mitsubishi Zeroes last night and they work great. I was dumb enough to have 4 take off and patrol the island myself and the bomber group were going after. I extended out ahead of the group to see if the Zeroes took off and began their patrol. When they spotted me, it did not take long to realize I was in trouble. Should be a lot of fun, especially with friends. I will shoot a video tomorrow.
  5. Hawkeyes mods are really underrated right now given the fact we have a ton of pacific assets from him and contributors and none from ED as of yet. I tip my hat to all involved for bringing this to the community. It has 100% increased the level of enjoyment flying the Corsair.
  6. Definitely a much better Corsair experience with a proper Naval fleet, Japanese assets on deck, and B-29's assisting in taking out AAA before my run.
  7. Anytime! Just downloaded the new SBD from discord. Looks a lot better than the one in my video. Also found a Japanese Zero. As of now, I have a Zero, Val, Kate, and one other I am not as familiar with. More videos to come! Doing a little more work on the fleet. Probably add deck crew to if the mod works well,
  8. Been installing them all weekend! Check this out and the link below. HIGHLY recommend going to the discord in Hawkeye60's forum below. TONS of Pacific stuff in there. All the mods in the video below were downloaded from the links in his thread. However, I started finding updated ones on his discord after I shot the video. More videos to come. Even saw WW2 deck crew in there.
  9. Really pushing Hawkeye60's mods for the Marianas! Absolutely worth it.
  10. Really pushing these mods now that the Corsair is out!
  11. F*** Yeah VN! Glad to see your post on here brother!
  12. I just started on this today and have the Kola map set up on the same day/month/year/time this operation took place. Downloaded the Tirpitz mod AND the German WW2 destroy mods to go with it. Added all the AAA that was really there during the attack (all part of the Normandy asset pack). Carrier group is exactly where is should be according to documentation. Also downloaded the WW2 British destroyers and frigates. Have them surrounding the Carriers. When the Hellcat comes out, I will add it for sure. Right now the Corsairs are set up to bomb, but during the real operation, the Hellcats straffed and bombed while the Corsairs provided air support against the Luftwaffe. Need to add the 109's that were up there (not many of them). Also there were roughly 14 or so U-Boats along the route that tried to strike the carrier group. I think 4 to 6 were sunk and the rest fled without getting a single hit on the strike group. Be cool to put in a submarine patrol mission. Last but not least, you MUST check out this DCS thread if you are interested in the WW2 Naval Mod assets. Hawkeye60 who started making all these years ago is hard at it updating stuff and making new ones. This is another Mod maker that should really be pulled into making an asset pack for DCS or they should inculde his mods like the have Massun and Current Hill.
  13. Totally missed this one! Just downloaded it. Thanks my friend!
  14. @Wags @NineLine Wags/NinLine, Any chance you have any kind of update or information you can provide on the future state of the European WW2 Assets pack? With the introduction of the Corsair, I would like to know if there is interest or work on new European Naval assets, specifically for Brittain and Germany? The Tirpitz Battleship would be great for a WW2 campaign on the Kola map. I do not need to stress the importance of German and Allied naval assets for the Normandy map. For reference's sake, here in Texas the Battleship Texas (the last remaining Ironclad) just got refitted/refurbished and is close to be open again for full view. If you ever wanted to utilize a ship for a future module or just AI scans for WW2, this would be it. You can go just about everywhere possible on her. We also have a destroyer and a submarine on the island nearby that would be perfect for 3D scans and WW2 assets. Grandfathered served on a saved the Battleship Texas during WW2. It would be an honor to see her come to DCS. She served in Europe during the D-Day invasion the moved to the Pacific. One last question. Are AI bombers on the horizon or any other AI aircraft for Europe? We are in desperate need of Stukas, HE-111's, and C-47's at minimum. Would love to see the B-24, B-25, and Hawker Hurricanes, but the other 3 would really give us a good fight over the Channel and Frane combined with what we have now. Appreciate all the hard work you gents do and what you strive to continue making for us. I do not want to sound ungrateful or greedy, just looking for some hope that you still have more AI assets like the ones listed above planned for DCS WW2. That time period is untapped gold mine still in my opinion. I think you gents would collect some MAJOR cash flow if you announced a B-25 or B-26/A-26 as full fidelity module. I feel like multiplayer with friends in DCS is becoming more of thing now. Check the site out below. This old girl is beautiful and would be a perfect opportunity to do a full scan of a WW2 battleship. Would love to see an actual Naval Module come to DCS. That would be the day! WW2 submarine, battleship, and destroyer warfare on a DCS scale. Battleship Texas Foundation Also, the USS Stewart Destroyer from WW2, only 1 of 2 left. Worth the visit and tour. Also, another great opportunity for 3D scans and a consideration if you ever wanted to do a full-on naval module, you could tour everywhere for internal shots. USS STEWART | GalvestonNavalMuseum
  15. @Reflected Here is another suggestion. I was looking at the British use of Corsairs and there was some significant use in the North Atlantic when Germany took Norway. Might be another option for the Kola Peninsula Map from a WW2 perspective. They played a key role in providing air support to the attacks on the German Battleship Tirpitz and even participated in the bombing. They also provided CAS for the fleet attacking German U-Boat and other ships in the North Atlantic during Operation Tungsten when they were attacking the battleship. We do not have the German battleship Tirpitz; however you might be able to use an upcoming battleship asset from the Pacific when it releases. Check out the website below. OUTSTANDING free resources declassified from the Government of the WW2 German invasion of Norway. A lot of good stuff for a campaign if interested, and at minimum, just a good read from the historical perspective. The other 2 websites are good info on the invasion and encounters they had with the allies. Good reference material. 16. Oh HELL YEAH! Where di you find the livery or did you make it yourself? Been waiting on this one and a Black Sheep livery!
  17. @Reflected Reflected, you ever considered looking into Operation Musketeer with the French corsairs of 1956? Pretty good campaign that took place over the Suez Canal with significant use of the French F-4Us doing a lot of air to ground stuff. Might make for an interesting campaign since we have the Sanai map. It would be a perfect fit. Only thing I have not looked into is the AI assets needed for a campaign like that. From what I have read, they were mostly Carrier born operations with some ground launched. Already some liveries out there for the French that are outstanding. I was flying with one of them in my last video. It would take some research for sure but might be worth your time. I would buy it in a heartbeat if you pulled that one off. Carrier born Corsair operation over the Suez Canal taking out ships and targets in the canal. Be a cool one for sure. Check it out. Operation Musketeer (1956) - Wikipedia
  18. Little bit of Carrier landing advice toward the end. Time stamped it in case it helps those of you struggling.

  20. If you really want to conquer the curves question, I highly recommend watching the following video posted today. I tried the curves Tactical Pascal @Tacticalpascale suggested and it made all the difference in the Corsair. Take it from a guy who has never touched the curves in DCS once on another module. What he said in this video makes a lot of sense. Even the elusive Nick Grey replied to his video and said he was spot on. I will be posting a video shortly and you can see the difference in my flying already. Much appreciated to TP for putting this out there and providing a good frame of reference for the curves and why they are needed.

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know what's sad, I use to run with those plugged into a portable/handheld Sony CD player past this chicks house I was crushin on after high school. Always do a Zoolander jog past her house before I left for the military. It did not help my chances, Old Heather. It also made Corsairs sound generic.
  22. RUDEL!!!! For the love of F*** please get me these sounds for the Corsair. If you want more money from me, let me know how much.

So you are telling me if I go buy some headphones with Haptics, all the sudden this module is going to sound like the video I posted? I want you to slow down one minute and actually think about what you are saying. In order for a DCS module to sound real, I may need to buy speakers or a different headset to get the realistic sound out of the module. I don’t know what kind of magical speakers or headset you have purchased to make this plane sound more authentic, but I would appreciate you dropping the link in this forum so I could go test it and prepare to come back and laugh in your face.
