  1. I did a video and realized it was probably a waste of time to watch, so I will just put it out there on this post. The video was way too long to watch just to convey the below message. I flew all out mods this morning on the ITJ server with no issues. A-4C flew just fine from a cold start on the carrier deck. Taxied utilizing the plane directors with no issues. Hooked up and had a smooth launch. No issues flying to and over the island. I see no reason at this point to say the A-4 is a problem. Cayuse flew just fine. Put it through its normal paces taking off from multiple bases/FARPs and getting into combat and landing to rearm/refuel. No conflicts with anything and a smooth flight. C-130 Hercules flew just fine from a cold start. Deployed troops and landed with no performance hits or conflicts with other mods. OV-10 Bronco flew just fine from a cold start. No issues during combat and returned for a landing with no issues. Flight was smooth the entire time. All AI mods we utilize in the mission have not indicated any conflict with the 4 mods listed above or any official third-party modules. From what i have seen surfacing online, the VSN F-4 is having some issues. What I do not know, but if you are running this on ITJ, I would recommend researching the issues others are having. It sounds like there is a conflict after the latest patch. PLEASE NOTE This most recent ED path 2.9.14.8222 seems to be interfering with other mods. If you add mods to the mission not included in ITJ, there could be conflicts. Download separate mods at your own risk. Per Kandy's words of wisdom above, I hope the mod issues get identified sooner than later.
  2. True, but the A-4 mod is a huge one that has been around for ages, same with VSN's stuff. They all worked together just fine prior to this update. Now its a crap shoot finding out what mod is breaking.
  3. I will give the A-4 a shot tomorrow. Going to suck if that one is messed up. I will do a video.
  4. Starting to see a lot of threads popping up after this past update where mods are having issues. Could be because of the latest patch
  5. Gents, just finished flying with Kandy. I concur the VSN mod possibly might be causing issues. We did not have the F-4 on the server, but I was testing the F-104 and we encountered the server freezing up and some issues. We removed it and relaunched the server and it worked just fine. That being said, we had the Cayuse, Bronco, A-4, and Hercules mod on there after removal of the F-104. Never had an issue with them. I did not fly the A-4 tonight, but we took up the Cayuse, Bronco, and Hercules. All were find. For what it is worth. I will ping VSN and let him know.
  6. @Mistermann Kandy, this was some good info for ITJ.
  7. Do you still have the plane? Has he stopped all comms? There are some other really talented mod makers out there if you still have it. They may be interested in picking it up. I would like to see it brought to DCS. It fits the Vietnam era a lot better.
  8. Any update on the EC 121? Would love to incorporate it into our "Into the Jungle" Mission. Will it be able to be used in lieu of the E-3 AWACS to call out BRA? I would like to incorporate this with our bomber intercept missions and red CAP incursions.

  10. Quick response to the above post, that is a negative ghost rider. Kandy and I have been real picky on how many AI/Static mods we incorporate because unlike the official mods, it requires everyone to download them if they do not have them or edit a Lua file to allow gameplay without them. We set ITJ up with the intent of Coop gameplay and have incorporated and continue to work on improving solo play, but I would not expect to see any AI mod units flying around. It becomes taxing on the performance, and we want everyone to continue enjoying the experience. I would encourage anyone who wants to give these a try though to add them on their server. Below is today's test dropping Airborne units over Alpha and Bunker. The fire fights that ensued were awesome! I feel we are getting closer to the ground combat aspect we would like to see for more insertions/extraction-oriented material. I could not just end the video on a drop, so I took the Bronco to the fight for an assist on the two troops that survived the ordeal. This was all solo play on our server. I was the only one flying. It was a blast.
  11. Did not get as much flying in as we wanted tonight but I was able to get some good footage flying the F-5 and how we have increased the fog. Very atmospheric flight tonight. Makes locating the enemy very difficult!
  12. No offense taken at all my friend! The main reason we fly the Cayuse the way we do is honestly because of the lack of people. It is always just me, Kandy, and Zipper. I would highly encourage to go hop on Voodoos server and check out his discord. They are trying to set up a straight milsim server where comms and role specific platforms are used exactly how you suggest. I believe they were going to separate it from the players who did not want to go that deep. I agree with what you are saying 100%. But in order to accomplish this, we need a set number of players as you suggested for scouting, strike, CAS, and friendly CAP. The good thing about the CAP is you can turn it on and off via the F10 menu, so no worries about not owning an official module dedicated to AA. Also, when flying on any server, the server administrator has the ability to go into the mission editor and restrict certain payloads during the mission. You could then set up each aircraft for specific roles in the mission. I hope this helps you out. And trust me, VN's Cobra will make this mission awesome! I do not think for one minute it will make it that much easier. If anything, it will help break the roles up as you stated and we can finally have our official Hunter/Killer teams. We also turned the fog up and increased the duration of it burning off. Check out my next F-5 video. I shot it right before writing this. The increased density with the sun coming up absolutely makes it harder to see, a lot of times using the tracers being fired at you to zero in on the location. Or a Bronco overhead guiding you in. We have learned to be true scouts for one another on here and work on our cardinal directions. Still needs work from time to time with us. LOL. I talked with Kandy about running a night op like you suggested. The reality is, if as suggested, keeping it authentic, nights ops were very rough for aviation during Vietnam. No NODs, avionics were just getting into terrain following radar, and none of the platforms in ITJ with the exception of the Huey and Cayuse really flew after dark. I think there might have been some alert Navy fighters sent to assist Intruders, but it would be a difficult time flying in the dark on ITJ. With a full moon and flying in VR, you would be good to go, but desktop mode, hard sell. Not saying it's off the table, but I would have to test it. Easy test though. Literally just flip the switch to night. Now when Heat Blur releases the A-6 Intruder, it will become a different story. But if we do not have a Vietnam map by then or at least word one is being developed, it will be a sad day. Really appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming! Appreciate hearing what the community has to say.
  13. We are aware of this for sure and are currently implementing additional red assets to keep everyone busy and spread the love. When we started this project, we had no idea it would take off like it has with the community, and we are deeply appreciative of that. It gives us great pleasure to see everyone enjoying our work/hobby. We have now found ourselves monitoring a forum which we did not do in the past to keep up with bug reports and additional requests from the community. I can assure you we have a list of things we want to incorporate. We have been prioritizing them by complexity level and what will incorporate more functionality quicker, while saving the harder stuff to code and more complicated ideas a little further down the list. The below should answer the attached quote. We want to make it more challenging when there are more players involved on dedicated servers. This will now included air to air threats, flak, and AAA. Stand by! We are getting ready to bring the rain. AAA is being introduced along with FLAK at Alpha, Bunker, and the South Island. ZSU's will randomly spawn with smaller groups. Enemy CAP can now be turned on via the F10 menu that will randomly generate different cap groups so you will need to worry about having some fighter jocks that are good with air to air. We are working on scripting in bombers that will attack Andersen and Antonio Intl. If you fail to intercept the bombers, it can result in client slots at Andersen and Antonio being destroyed. You will have to wait a set period of time for those client spots to respawn. If all your strike fighters get taken out because no one dealt with the bombers, then you will be dealing with AAA and Flak utilizing the slow-moving Bronco or Helos. We are also working on incorporating troop insertions with the C-130 for future content. This is just a small sample of what we have in store, pending DCS can script the rest. More to come!
  14. Sometimes you can spell it out such as you did and for some individuals, they still have trouble on what exactly to download and extract. This has been the case with this mod. I know some people extracted the entire folder into their mods folder to include all the old stuff in that download. There was a specific reason I made this video. This is an older mod and some of the other assets in the download are no longer compatible with DCS. It could cause issues with other mods and prevent DCS from working. I wanted to be clear in my instructions with how to install the mod so people did not encounter errors when firing up the mission. Appreciate you trying to assist in making things easier, but a bit aggressive in telling people not to watch the video. Others may gain more from the instructions than you did.
  15. Really appreciate the feedback! We felt the same way when we turned the fog up and took off out of there. I am really hoping Vulkan makes the scene this year. That should help a lot with FPS in VR. It turned the tide with IL-2 Great Battles in VR back when they incorporated it. Tonker, when I have some time this week, I plan on doing an updated video regarding comms in DCS. I started out as a non-believer in SRS and was wholeheartedly waiting on the internal comms in DCS. We have struggled so much as a team with it because ED has not shown it the love since release. We have raised our concerns but they have other more pressing irons in the fire for the time being I suppose. I have gone from Skype with the boys running in the background to learning SRS. I will put out my setting and how I got to where I am at with it. More to come.
  16. F-104 is up and running now really well on Into the Jungle. Did another trial run this time using the VSN start procedure. Got a rocket run in, ATA refuel, and smoked by 2 Mig-21s I spawned in. The dogfight was a good time. I blacked out at one point and had to recover. Well done VSN!!!!! More videos to come!

  18. Did an updated video on the F-4 B/C since it has been a while. Looking great! It got updated January of this year. Patch noted mentioned some work with the A-4 crew. Really impressed with this mod and highly recommend it, even if you have the Heat Blur Phantom. Thanks for all the hard work VSN!
  19. When I read this comment and then saw your username, I laughed my ass off!!!! Well played
  20. I had to do a video on the updated VSN F-4 B/C. Looking to add this as well when we iron out the conflict I am encountering with twitching in VR. I am on the war path and will hopefully have it figured out soon. There were not a lot of recent videos out there of the VSN F-4 B/C and I wanted to reignite the flame. Download link is in the video description if you want to go get it now. Last update was this year back in Jan/Feb time frame.

  22. I am very excited to announce VSN has allowed us to test their upcoming F-104C standalone mod. I am very impressed with the 3D model and flight model. It will make a fantastic addition to ITJ when it is released. We are also looking at adding the VSN F-4 B/C. Both mods are having a minor conflict in ITJ we are looking into right now. I hope to find the issue soon so we can place it in the mission. I look forward to making more videos soon with ATA Refueling, Bomber Intercepts and some other functions. Hope you enjoy the kickoff video and again, thank you to the VSN crew for allowing us to test this!

  24. Not meant to be an insult towards Tobi or Eightball at all. Just saying, to go out and say it's all been canceled, then go comms dark and not respond is a bit of burn given all the support and fun we have had with the Cayuse. Not trash talking them at all, just disappointed we lost a great developer.
  25. Hate to hear this gents. Alot of sad followers hearing this news. Sounds like there is no changing your minds, but I will make one last ditch attempt to say whatever someone said about your project that set you off, there are far more of us that respect your work and time you dedicated to this community. You left a footprint in the DCS community I wish you were not so quick to leave. We had high hopes for what you had in mind next. If you do not mind me asking, what sim are you leaving DCS for?
