  1. Turn on the "TrackIR aiming" option, and you should be able to use the mouse to aim after "Alt+C".
  2. Saitek's profiler should be like any other, it maps buttons to keyboard keys. So find out what the keyboard combos are for what you want to map, then map your X-52 buttons to those.
  3. Well, OK then. :music_whistling: Let me know when your perfect product is on the market. :D
  4. Engineering isn't the problem. This isn't rocket science we're talking about here, it's consumer joysticks. Toys, essentially. It would be easy to use large high-quality ball-bearings, CNC mill gimbal frames out of aluminum and sell the thing for $1,000. Of course, too few would buy it then. Companies like Thrustmaster have to toe the line between sale-ability and profitability. For what it's worth, I think the engineering and production quality of the HOTAS Warthog is already about as good as it gets for the consumer market. Sure, they could use a better grease and take some more time on the production line to apply said grease, but hey, nobody's perfect.
  5. Vizio P-Series set to come out 9/29: http://www.slashgear.com/vizios-p-series-4k-tvs-surface-ahead-of-debut-18347104/ http://www.vizio.com/tvs/pseries.html GTX 980 and 970 available at $549.99 and $329.99 respectively, as of today: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/maxwell-architecture-gtx-980-970 The Vizio 50" at $999 and GTX 900 series look like a good combination for 4K at 60 hz with HDMI 2.0. The new P-series has Full-Array Local Dimming (FALD) as opposed to being edge-lit, but for PC use you'll probably want to disable it to minimize image processing and hence input lag. For some reason there are two 50" models for the same price of $999, the model ending with -E being worse than the other with 120 hz vs 240 hz and 16.7 million colors vs 1.07 billion, so be careful you don't end up with the gimped one (looks like it might be for cheaper retailers, IDK). No 3D however. If you're looking to get a new video card and/or a new display, this is a good time. Previously you would be limited to running at 30 hz, unless you shelled out for the few and expensive TVs that had Displayport in addition to HDMI 2.0.
  6. Congrats. Hope it doesn't break on you this time. :P
  7. Congrats. You're going to like it.
  8. GTX 980/970 is being revealed tonight. From all indications GTX 970 is the way to go.
  9. Try renaming the command something different, like "Gears Toggle" if "Gears Up" is the original name. Also make sure the value isn't 0 and not -1. I don't have the module, so I can't check for you.
  10. For the weapons tutorial, you have to edit it using the mission editor and add some door guns. For the sight, there are keyboard commands for it like Flagrum said, and you have to turn it on as well (there's a switch in back of it, but I don't remember the particular keyboard command).
  11. Try turning off Hyper-Threading and running your i7 at around 4 Ghz. Should see some improvement, I'm not sure it's going to get you the kind of FPS you want if you still want to put everything at max, however. Some things (like civilian traffic, etc) are superfluous and you won't really miss them, but turning them down'll help widen the CPU bottleneck.
  12. Hehe, well I was going to say a cup, but that would've been bad advice for most people. :megalol:
  13. Look in this thread, maybe it'll help: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123904&highlight=trackir+aiming
  14. Try a shot of liquor (or its equivalent depending on your tolerance) before you step into virtual reality, it helps a little.
  15. Happened to me as well, except I never did bother to edit the logbook. I kept flying and kept crashing. It's a luxury being able to learn as you go, in a simulator. :P
  16. Good to hear. Unfortunately most people probably lost their progress when they launched DCS, and it rewrote the logbook when it couldn't find aircrafts\ anymore.
  17. Raven, try editing this line in your old logbook.lua: ["campaign"] = "./mods/aircrafts/Uh-1H/Missions/en/Campaigns/en_UN-Pilot.cmp", Change "aircrafts" to "aircraft": ["campaign"] = "./mods/aircraft/Uh-1H/Missions/en/Campaigns/en_UN-Pilot.cmp", Maybe this will work; I haven't tested it yet.
  18. The ones in the program directory are the default inputs. The diff.lua in your Saved Games\DCS folder should still be working. Perhaps you can delete your Saved Games input folder, start the program and then replace it? Be sure to make a copy of the folder as backup.
  19. Good work, MadCat. I'm sure the devs would agree with my statement. :P Is it just me or did they switch all Huey commands to the device_commands.Button_X format? I didn't keep the old files to check.
  20. Pro-tip for take-offs and landings: look straight ahead, don't pay too much attention to your instruments. You'll adjust.
  21. Hey, I see what you did there buddy. :helpsmilie:
  22. I think the cockpit shake is a whole separate issue. I mean the terrain doesn't shake with it...
  23. The new ROG Swift PG278Q sounds like it's just right for you. Also there's nothing lower quality about a TV, especially a high-end one, but if resolution's what you're talking about, yeah at larger sizes 1080p is going to look a little pixelated. I'm using a cheap 50" 4K TV (Seiki) right now as my monitor, solid VA panel but at 30 hz only, which works out well enough for DCS where the instruments and cockpit stay still and the terrain moves by relatively slowly, but isn't optimal. I don't know that I would trade it for a smaller screen, though, even at 120 hz, because 120 fps isn't going to happen in DCS at this point, and I like the FOV.
  24. Yep, it's just the fishbowl effect. It looks correct if you're always looking dead center of your screen(s). If you use the side monitors more as windows than for peripheral vision, you want to add some extra viewports for them, which isn't a problem, but it does decrease your fps.
  25. If you have no problems with it, spare yourself the trouble. There are a lot of moving parts inside the thing, so it can be a real hassle.
