Russian carrier question...
Force_Feedback replied to Skwurl's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Also remember that it depends on the aircraft type, for instance, compare a Super Etnard with an F-14, the cat has a lower sinkrate, but the glideslope is still steeper than that of a normal aircraft, this due to the small target area they have to 'hit', but even the su-33 slams into the deck, it's just that the tolerances are very strict in lomac (no AFM), so you can't make a 'red' landing, or even take some damage. -

That pic makes me want to overexaggerate certain feelings towards that flying machine :P Ok, I'll keep my cool: It's awesome -
Black Shark - Systems in English?

You can use the joystick with your left hand, and thus being able to use the mouse with the other ;) Seriousely, I think that basic weapon/countermeasure commands will have a keyboard binding, or if you're sim-crazy you can program your 'HOTAS' stick. I feel ashamed of making the comparison with a 11 year old program, but in F4 you too can assign commands to the keyboard, and click on the mfd buttons or whatever. -
OT: F-22 scheduled for overseas deployment

Or we can put these inside the raptors, it would be peaceful, cuz they'd tell the computer to fly to amsterdam to stack up on you know what. Stoners can fly too :pilotfly: -

Those Raptors are sooo screwed, but I think the US will remove some of the 'uber' classified electronics. Screwed as in that some Chinese spies may get their hands on it, or maybe they already did. Just hope the FBW system won't crash -

As the Aim-9P and aim-120B, yet I don't see any R-33Es appearing or some R-27EPs... We also get all kinds of humvees and bradleys to shoot at, not to mention the superb AH-1 and AH-64 models. Also, keep in mind that getting some detailed info on the F-15 is a bit harder in Russia than in the US -
That mig-31 vid has some new footage for me, saw the entire documentary once, and it lacked the close up r-33 launch vids.

Hey, if you're gonna make some F-14 related lomac site, count me in ;) I love the Cat, it's a pure power beast, nothing more, and certainly nothing less (eh Hornet fanbois?)... -

Heck, I didn't design the a\c system on that plane ;) Now, if a female pilot should do something, then.... you better not do it. But, then again, a woman wouldn't do it, they're unfortunately smarter than we are, and try to understand how they think, then you go crazy. :P -

GIMMME GIMMME GIMMME!!! Tomcat, w00h00, I love that bird, wow. Okay, so the enthousiasm wore off... Holy s***, that thing looks good, and I like its FM in lomac, though underpowered, it flies most believable for a humancockpit=yes FM. -
My point is that ECM is nowhere near the level the avionics are... and those are pretty basic even now (note, I'm no F4 fanboi, I hate F4), you can't even define which type of radar you want to jam, and only having this magical multiband 'Hey, I'm dumb and I transmit continuousely, so everyone in a 500km range can see me', that is hardly realistic, and in my opinion, ED should have left out the jammers, rather than giving us this homing beacon option. If there will be some basic ecm moddeling in some future project, then it's ok, but in lomac, nah.

For those who are wondering, he did an inverted under bridge pass no, not the famous bridge, just some other. Used to do that near the lockon bridges, near sevastopol, the left most opening on the railroad bridge, then choose some hole under that small one, and push all the way down afterwards, not to crash into the factories. Oh, great times, especially when trying to do that in formation :P Had some problems with the velocity of the concrete structures, the velocity differential that is :P

Unfortunately, real ECM systems are usually not set in this 'active disco ball mode', but that is one of the many differences between lomac and the real world. One of the modes could be for example to jam only the SARH guidance frequency, and not to transmit on other frequencies (so you only give away your position when you're fired upon). I'm not whining about version 1.312 or something, just wanting to point out that ecm is really, really crude in lockon.

Or you can pee, and see it all getting sucked up, but mixed good enough to let the pilot smell it. -

And artificially maintained too, but hey, 'terrorists' may get tactical ballistic nukes at some 'black market', sure... I wouldn't be surprised if a substantial amount of people were killed to get some useless weapon contract Didn't knew the pac 3 was so light, how about doing some .lua and meint tweaks to get us some mim-104Cs under our beloved F-15 (2 fuselage stations)? I saw some id lists, so if we can swap those for some unused missiles, like the r-550, R-37, and R-27EA entries, in theory, we should be able to stick any kind of missile to an aircraft.

I've seen birds in lockon, but only once though, and that was after a heavy ganja session... -
Ahh, I remember giving online flying lessons for the Mig-29S, but that was like 3 years ago :/ and now I suck with the miggie, heh heh, aerobatics only for this guy.
