  1. have you waited the 3 minutes for your INU to warm up prior to take off?
  2. Ka50 ABRIS Training (8 APR) -(Refresher/Data-link Implementation) Ka50 systems training - "Rotary Badge" assessment (9 APR) -(Full Start-up/System tests) Sign-up sheet for next weeks events is posted. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YO3ewuMWIu0IWhM3S_mzepeiC4lfXlr2CsHGpPSpZlw/edit You do not need to be a TAW member to attend the ABRIS training, however the Ka50 systems training is reserved for TAW members only. There is a new TS password, so you will have to provide email on the sign-up sheet so I may contact you prior to the event. Reaper6
  3. As far as I just read, Easy comms do not function in KA50 now? What freq do the ship ATCs work on? If it is possible, where do I find the list of freqs? Or is it no longer possible to contact ships? Reaper6
  4. Today's ABRIS class will cover Editing a waypoint’s data for route calculations. We will also be doing a "refresher" of what has been covered to date. So if you have any questions a particular page or menu/sub-menu in ABRIS, we can cover them in todays lesson(time permitting). Reaper6
  5. Yeah it is a silly idea. tell you what, anytime I'm on the TAW server hit me up. You can pick what ever plane you like and I'll use my silly little Shark. You can even bring your missiles with you. However, I don't think it will be an "amusing" evening for you :) Reaper6
  6. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZRQaTIjrGzwPsGu9alHqewXxiUtqyXDsnDrkMQpF2Lc/edit?usp=sharing Well the best way I know how to accomplish this is have a ladder system for the ultimate winner. I have made a spreadsheet, so just enter your DCS call sign in the grayed out first column. Prior to starting the championship, we will mix the names. So you won't know who you will be up against until the day prior. Some rules I am thinking are; I will have someone from TAW moderate the engagement(or if you have someone in mind that is fine as well). It will be best out of 5 advances. No padlock. Will be done in SIM mode. And of MAIN gun only(no pods). Let me know your thoughts, and put what days/times you are available under your name w/email please. Not set in stone, but depending how many players we get, I may consider buying the overall champion a module of his/her choice. I would also like to invite Mi8/UH-1 pilots as well(may use gun pods). If you are flying these modules, just list which by your call sign. Setup for European & North American Divisions! Reaper6
  7. Would like to get a few rotary pilots together that may be interested in a A2A Guns only Mission. If there is enough people interested, I can make a Map and we can give it a go. Next Tuesday? Reaper6
  8. I don't believe there is a big difference, other than you can't fly in DCS world in BS1. And the main menu is a little different, other than that it's pretty much the same thing.
  9. Look in your pilots logbook, all single player stats will be recorded there. Including Missions, and campaigns. Reaper6
  10. Cool, thanks buddy Reaper6
  11. This week we will be implementing the Data-link into our training, as well as exploring the ARC page. And a refresher on entering waypoints. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing Reaper6
  12. "R", is on the collective.
  13. Yeah I dusted off my old BS1 CD and apparently it didn't have a function. I was looking at the code and maybe implement it myself somehow. Not sure how that would react in multiplayer. Reaper6
  14. By looking at it thru ME, it appears each Blue target is worth a mission value(points/that would total 100%). But it doesn't appear that a message or anything actually displays saying you have won. You will have to destroy all blue targets to get the full 100 points. Also, it's been a while since I flew the BS1 campaigns. But I believe you will still have to "esc" once you have completed the mission, I think there are messages in the campaign once you RTB and have completed mission goals. But it doesn't automatically load the next mission, as it doesn't have the "load next mission" trigger like BS2/DCS world has. But I could be mistaken. Reaper6
  15. What is the mission name?
  16. Page 2-89 2-63: Ice defrosting control panel (right rear panel / top) Page 5-14(preflight checks) Check rotors anti-ice system (AIS) A rotor AIS test should be performed when the ambient temperature is less than 5°С. 1. Press the “КОНТРОЛЬ СО” (ice detector control) (top part of auxiliary control panel) button; after about 10 seconds, the “ЛЕД” (ice) light should illuminate.
  17. Yes thank you for the advice, I will leave the forums to the professionals.... Reaper6
  18. Yeah very true, I didn't have the link to their computers though. Reaper6
  19. "What's this button for?" "Where is this switch?" "How do I?" "What is the key command for?" 99% of those questions are answered in the manual, oddly enough adobe also comes with a search function... Reaper6
  20. Yeah... -The End-
  21. **EDIT** 92.67% of mastering the Ka50 Black Shark Step1. Download: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/dcs_bs_manual_en/ Step 2. Read it! The remaining 7.33% is experience flying and using what you learned completing the 2 steps above. Reaper6 A friend squared me away, so I should have added... This is not necessarily for the person that just bought the game. However in my opinion you should at least browse the manual to get a general idea of how to fly the Shark. Mastering the Shark is a LONG and bumpy road, but since 2009 I have never once tired of flying it. But if you strive to master the Shark, eventually you will have to read the entire manual to get a grasp of how all the systems operate. Yes, true you can just get in, auto-start, and fly around and blow things up. But I really think there are so many Shark pilots that miss so many functions about the Shark that actually benefit the pilot. Mainly the ABRIS and PVI, those two systems, once mastered will make you the most deadly Shark on the map. Learning every detail of the Shark has made me absolutely surgical in any mission, from peppering Manpads with the 30mm, to knocking F15s & SU27s(yes, that's right) out of the sky with Vikhrs. I volunteer a lot of my time to helping people to the best of my ability, whether it be a TAW member or anyone else that requires my help. I am by no means the subject matter expert when it comes to the Ka50. But any knowledge I do have, I am more than happy to pass on. I am also not a "moderator" of this forum and never claimed to be. But if someone asks a question, I try to give the best advice I can, based on the knowledge I have. Everyone has opinions, I try to respect that and I ask the same in return. So hopefully this will clarify the post a little better...
  22. Flight Director... Tells you where to go vs. takes you there.
  23. I have no problems flying in the Caucasus... Once you have seen one desert, you have seen them all.
  24. Oh and I almost forgot... When Edge comes out in 2022 you will have to pay $XX again :)
  25. The difference is you paid $XX for the original BS. Then you had to pay $XX again just so you could fly around in DCS world. That's the only difference... Reaper6
