  1. Thank you, DM!
  2. Sorry to hear that. I hope it hadn't broke the bank seriously.
  3. I'm in! too! I'm at CST+1. so 8:00PM CST is a good time for me
  4. DCS will be cat's meow in simulation when a Falcon Block 40 onwards is released. Period Those who don't want it just say that because they feel jealous that the Viper can do Air-2-air and air-2-ground and excel at both. They prefer single role aircrafts
  5. I have a lot of stuttering with the new update. I hope a next release will fix it
  6. That's correct. People complain that the ED is ignoring them with the F-16 but I say it's the opposite: They want to offer a great and outstanding quality Viper that don't even allow any third party to develop it. Maybe they're afraid to announce it because people would want release dates and in this point they have so much work that they don't want any compromises. I even remember that Wags said that people's reactions to the multiples delays of the Hornet have made them been more prudent about future releases
  7. ED will release the F-16 but we'll see it in a couple of years from now. There are just a lot of things to improve first as Air-Ground radar, real F-16 theaters, Dynamic Campaign, multicrew to allow a full F-16C/D simulation... and I'm not even counting the other projects they have in hands like the Legacy Hornet, WWII map and planes, ironing out bugs, DCS 2.0... It will be an honor to have a Viper in DCS. It will attract many die hard fans and a lot of cockpit builders around the world since it's a extremely popular plane across many, many air forces. No Red Flag multiplayer would be complete without it. The wait is worth it
  8. In order from most to less accurate, we have these set of plans so far: Deadman's Dimebug's Flim's Just my two cents...
  9. I think the DCS platform is very profitable for a 3rd party developer. Many customers have bought modules just by supporting the developers and not for being very fond of that plane. In my case I've bought planes I don't even like that much just for seizing the bargains in some sales and because I feel happy seeing a new release. In fact, I see that only jn this platform the presales and betas are welcomed something not popular in other flight simulators. Besides, here you can charge $60 for a new release where in other platforms are typically $40 to $50. It seems like DCS customers are more... wealthy ;)
  10. Thanks for the info. I'm bulding a Hog Pit. I don't think I'll be building a Hornet
  11. Why so much silence or are there really too few guys building A-10 cockpits?
  12. I think the same. He's making a storm in glass of water. I already explained him what needs to be done but I think he's a little bit stubborn....
  13. X-plane's blade element theory works even for not previously known geometry so no precomputed solutions here. You can create a x-shaped plane and the sim will slice it in infinitesimal pieces and calculate their acceleration, then these are integrated in speeds and finally integrated in positions in the world. DCS does indeed use lookup tables
  14. Wow! This practice of using off the shelf top class joystics to impress sci-fi movie fans is more common than I thought. Here's a TM Warthog in the final Batman vs Superman movie trailer
  15. Extracted from http://forums.vrsimulations.com/foru...it=Dcs#p109556 I'm not against ED demmanding a pre-sales agreement with a portion of the sales profit for them. They deserve it, anyway. And, what's better, ED's distribution approach takes the piracy concern off the developer What I don't really like and the reason many experienced developers like Dino Cattaneo (India Foxtrot) are not coming to DCS is that the SDK is not publicly available and ED's approval politics are really strict leaving you few options to choose in what aircraft you can develop. As far as I know if someone want to develop a Super Hornet that won't be allowed since it's going to direct compete with the legacy Hornet ED is already developing. The F-16 isn't allowed for third party development either.
  16. Correct! Use the big toggle switches 15/32" bushing size or your panel is gonna look odd
  17. Anyway, ON-ON-ON toggle switches are very rare in my country and therefore more expensive. I used cheaper ON-OFF-ON switches and edit the default.lua to let the game know what OFF should do. This obviously works with ANY controller board in the market! Some of this boards come with extra software to allow you to bind this OFF position but I prefer the default.lua way since I'm trying to fire up my sim with the least extra software possible!!
  18. The A-10C MFDs require 10 more inputs than the TM for two extra rocker switch and two three position rotary selector for the OFF-Night-Day functions. If you want to implement backlit buttons then you're gonna need tactile switches and engrave/cut your own buttons. Those switches need to be installed in a square framed PCB just like in the TM MFDs
  19. Everyone and vendor understand toggle as a switch with a lever that either stays in the selected position or returns to the center. So if you want to order toggle switches that STAY in the position you left it, look them up as ON-OFF-ON or ON-OFF If what you want is self reversible toggle switches, order them as (ON)-OFF-(ON) or (ON)-OFF The parenthesis ( ) means that positions is momentary
  20. I use Thrustmasters MFD too. It bugs me to see how tiny they look and all the space they leave around them BUT they work greatly and building a good replica would need 66 extra inputs, plus a complicated PCB and a lot of more work. In my case, that would be the final part in my pit to upgrade. I'll stick to the TM ones for a while...
  21. I'm not talking about using real world vehicles, stuff, kitchenware or venues. My point is that Wayne industries uses its own top technology and I believe the artist or director of this new movie though that this joystick looked badass and no one would notice they bought it on Amazon ☺
  22. Stelios, you can use any ON-OFF-ON toggle switch and edit the default.lua in the mirage input folder to let the game know what command you want the OFF position to do. Buying ON-ON-ON switches is a waste of money when you can do this
  23. Really? Awesome!! We own a top class Joystick!
  24. Hi, Guys I noticed that in the most recent, claimed as the final, Batman vs Superman trailer, the guy who helps Batman, presumably Alfred, is controlling the Bat plane with a TM HOTAS Warthog and it seemed to me very curious that the Hollywood artists couldn't make up an original prop and used instead a commercial joystick!!!! Interesting. isn't it? See here at 0:03
