  1. Well, I have experience with FSX planes and sceneries. If no one takes over I'm going to kickstart a project for a DCS F-16. I wonder if there's any license issues or if Wags is going to allow it
  2. The X-55 throttle is great but its stick is rather... cheap and lack many useful hats. That's why I suggest to buy the Thrustmaster WH Stick only if you can't afford the full HOTAS
  3. So..the rumors were true and the futile atempts to deny it are now in shame..
  4. I remember that the first days I tried the A-10C, I was flying above enemy gunfire and all of a sudden I couldn't control the plane anymore and afterwards the view switch to 3rd person and the plne kept flying for a long time. I noticed a lot of bullet holes on the starboard side of my Hog nd there I realized that my pilot had been shot and died. I could confirm that in the log screen after exiting the map. I was greatly pleased that this feature was included! However I don't remind seing blood splatters in the cockpit like that screenshot posted here
  5. Well...it's a bit unfair comparison. Multiscreen setup only can't beat the OR. A full physical cockpit plus multiscreen or a projector setup can!! You can't beat the feedback of flicking and pushing real switches and buttons. Besides, you will be not limited to the low res the OR offers
  6. I also bought my Ka-50 from Steam since it was cheaper than on ED's store and activate it without issues in my non-steam DCS world install
  7. I watched your video and it kinda looks nice but the ocen waves are big tiles and make look the ships as toys in a bathtub -as someone here said before. Physx is the way to go. It has been actively developed and can run in the GPU freeing the processor that is needed for scripts and AI calculations in a complex simulation like DCS The other option is Havok physics libraries but again this one relies heavily in the processor
  8. I don't really see difference in the shadowing more than the color... Back in the DX8 days the difference between a volumetric shadow and a flat shadow was huge where a flat shadowed object didn't cast shadows on itself or self shadowing
  9. Your MoBo hasn't much to do with with 64 or 32 bits computing. All you need to do is install a 64 bits operating system which will work with any reasonably old MoBo -not one with ISA sockets and EDO RAM- even its the processor installed is 32 bits only. The OS will work regardless of this configuration as long as the computer meets the minimum requirements in RAM memory and technology
  10. Physx can be implemented in DCS for convincing visual effects that not neccesarily affect gameplay or flight behaviour like smoke trails, more realistic explosions, wing flex, trees swinging, vapor on wings and plenty of particle effects. It would be a nice addition and the good thing is that is optional. If you don't have the horse power to run it just turn the godamn thing off
  11. What display resolution are you running the game at? Since the HUD simbology is text render as texture it requires a high resolution of 1920x1080 minimum to be readable at a confortable distance
  12. The Saitek X-55 is a great budget HOTAS (Joystick and Throttle). It's going to give you a full flight experience as no single joystick can't and comes with a bunch of switches and buttons. It's highly moddable and look like a real jet controls. Recommended!!
  13. I'll pay only what it's priced ;)
  14. I hope it's fixed soon. I'm expecting CA to be perfect before taking the plunge
  15. I had to step in and accept the windows 10 upgrade in order to make DCSW Beta work. While I was on W7 Pro 64 bits all I got was errors and more errors during the installation. I tried everything suggested here like installing .NET stuff and even change drivers but finally a whole OS installation solved the problem
  16. I second this motion. It's unacceptable to sell a module and many years later it's at a beta stage. What happened to BST?
  17. 2018 probably... seems the Hornet is the least ED's concerns right now...
  18. Wow that looks really gorgeus!! DCS is now the best looking sim out there!!
  19. same problem here: "DCS updater stopped working" can't repair, can't reinstall.. I'm stuck and clueless what might be causing this..
  20. It's a nice addition although he looks a little blocky.
  21. Great! This is the first one checklist I'm gonna actually use.
  22. Sure!
  23. well... but 1,5G isn't enough to simulate a fighter/attack aircraft. Instead, this sim CAN do barrel rolls: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT18nJhXgaY Unfortunately, it seems it can't yaw
  24. I want the MiG-15 too so I can fight the F-86 Sabre!
