"_a" fires machine guns and inboard cannons using BTN1 (1st indent) on the joystick. I can use BTN6 (2nd indent) for the same purpose. Nothing seems to work for the outboard cannons. Doesn't matter if I assign a button or a trigger. The gun master switches are both ON. Update: page 12 of Chucks Anton manual shows three CB buttons that need to be pushed in order for the guns to fire. I haven’t tried this yet, but assume this will solve my problem.

Where did that come from

It would make me really happy if one of the new carriers was CVA-38 USS Shangri-La. It served in WWII, Korea, and the Cold War. I, and my squadron, were on it in 1967 with the RF-8G Crusader. Corsair Hellcat ? Cougar/Panther A-4 F-8 Probably some others TWC_SLAG

There is, however, an annular (do-nut shaped) radiator just behind the fan, for the oil.

It takes a licking, and keeps on...well, a minute later the wings came off. But, look at that detail!!

I don't use the DCS Update GUI Utility, and the new update isn't an option when I open DCS. Although it asked me in the past. Don't know why it isn't now. Where else can I get the update??

Did that. In each case, the installed driver was said to be the best one. I still have a "X" for the USB, instead of a check mark. Played around (switched some USB plugs), and got it working. Thanks,

Got an O+, WMD popped up on the monitor and says the computer is fine except for "USB 3.0+. My computer has USB 3.0. Is 3.1 required? I'm using a 10 port USB extension, but plugged the O+ plug directly into an empty USB outlet on the computer back. Thanks,

The third (I think) Crusader to launch was an RF-8G from VFP-62. I was on the previous Shangri-La deployment to the Med with that squadron.

If, I had saved my bindings somewhere, where would I find them? If I found them, how would I go about getting them back in the game? Would I still be able to even put them back in?

So glad to see something other than an F-14. :)

The joke in the LW was the pilot had to have one leg longer than the other, to compensate for the torque. Hands off is not an option.

How is being able to fly hands off your goal in a fighter? If you are looking for hand off, fly a Cessna 172.

I would like to see night fighter versions of the Mossie and bf110 with radar operators. Then add some AI bombers on each side. Fun stuff.

Isn’t it always that way when a new plane comes out? Lots of people just have to grab the “next new thing”. I understand they just want to try out anything new, and that’s OK. What a lot of those people don’t understand is that, in RL, you don’t fly a different plane every day. You concentrate on one or two and, therefore, don’t become a jack of all trades, master of none. The Tomcat may be one of those like the Warthog or Hornet. So much to learn, you don’t have time for much else. If not, those WWII pilots may come back. I know if I ever get an F-8 Crusader, I won’t fly anything else. :thumbup:

Although the F-4 shot down more NV planes than the F-8, the Crusader had the better kill ratio: 19/3 Most VN fighter were MiG-17 or 21’s. We have 15, 19, and 21’s. F-4 and F-8 are coming. Should be a lot of fun for both sides.

When I was in the Med 66-67, the French F-8’s put up a good fight in a war game against our F-8’s.

Well of course they do. Those are much more modern aircraft. The whole point of newer models is to make them more leathal.
