Yep everybody should have it. Not sure what changed that made it show up all the sudden a guess might be that it's because the radio menu is clickable now and for some reason that makes the. Show up

So finally got around to making a couple of test knobs. They look like S I know. :) Didn't even hardly try to reduce the bubbles or mess with dye yet. Just wanted to do a couple to see what they looked like. Turns out there are flight stick parts in there too. Didn't even know that. Pretty sure that's a castle and A2A weapons select at the end.

[emoji23] [emoji106] So I'm a bit.... "special" with the computer stuff.... If I'm flying a helo and want that controls overlay thing... I hit the right buttons and don't see anything... Do overlays not show up at all in VR view or am I doing something wrong?

I must admit. This is news to me... Did not know PD had an effect on spotting. So to spot a plane better but still have a pretty cockpit, what's the average opinion on PD? I currently use 2.0 but I'm willing to slide it down now that I know. Labels... as we only fly coop I use them. Found that the mod that makes it a period works great kind of like how the model enlargement used to look. I just need to change the enemy labels to black but I'm lazy. ;)

Hopefully going to try a run on these this week. Greekbull and I both got busy with Life and haven't been able to try yet. Completely separate from TS which is why it's great. Just as an example... in our group we meet and brief on TS, then once the server is up everyone logs into SRS, mutes their TS mic and jumps in game. We then meet back up on SRS on pre-planned freqs. If there are issues everyone is still "listening" on the TS channel so the person with the issue can just un-mute their TS mic and we'll hear them.

Are you running the client.exe from the installed folder, default should be c:/program files/simpleradiostandalone if I remember right. Seems like a dumb question but this happened to a squadron mate. He was running the client.exe from the unzipped install folder, not the one from the "installed" folder. Other than that it's for sure an error in the export.lua then since you are connecting fine to the server but not the game....

If you're not doing mp... I fiddled with one of the label mods... basically the labels kind of act like the old model enlargement for me.

That would be a pretty cool way to finally solve the model issue, at least for close in aircraft. CloD with the Team Fusion patch does the sun on canopy flash. Man that worked great for drawing your eye to the right spot. If that's the end goal of this new thing, good news.

So real quick because I'm on my phone... Su25T, the free plane that comes with DCS world. Start with that! It's a pig to fly, but it is a blast once you master it. And once you have the basic A2G stuff down with it, the principals translate over to the high fidelity modules like the A10C. YouTube is your friend. Especially for the Su25T and A10C. Lots of outstanding tutorials on there. A voice command program, get one, example VoiceAttack. Envaluable in the Rift, especially in planes without clickable cockpits. Key bindings, look up the "modifier" tab. Make an unused easy to get to HOTAS button a modifier, then you can basically map almost all major commands to your HOTAS as holding down the modifier pretty much means you can map all buttons twice. UI Layer tab in controls. Map your left and right mouse buttons to your HOTAS, I map my left click, then map my right click to the same button with the modifier held down. DCS World download page, user files. Get English cockpits for your planes, saves learning new words and a new plane at the same time. ; ) Last, you jumped over to DCS in VR right when ED is in the middle of overhauling model visibility in the distance, and apparently Oculus's new runtime and DCS aren't getting along great. It will all work itself out in a few months so don't get frustrates if the graphics give you issues and turn on labels until you know what stuff looks like. Have fun. Sage

Neck, Couple things. First, my sincere apologies for the, "Hey, I'll help with this and that and the other, ref. The AWACS/ATC docs and then dropping off the project. Work/life got crazy as can happen, but I should have posted on there that I couldn't give it the time I originally hoped to. Second, are you all still flying joint events on some Saturdays? I really enjoyed the time I flew one of those. Would love to try again, or even JTAC, we've been practicing our Check-ins and 9 lines. Third, if you are still doing the open events... Still using UR or have you guys made the switch to SRS? I finally convinced my crew to use a radio program thanks to the ease of SRS and the need to not use a TS plugin... just curious. 4th, great Virtual Squadron you've made, man. Wasn't aware of that. Good stuff. Mig 21, F5, Sa2, A4, Huey, just need the Mig17, A6, Thud, F4, A1, A7/F8, Bird Dog, NVA AAA, several other old helos... and a Vietnam map. Man we're almost there, LOL. Needless to say but as a founding member of a virtual Naval squadron, I'm chomping at the bit for SoH. I have the proposed map size and location plot it out on Google Earth. Been slowly building missions for a campaign once we have carriers the 18 Charlie and the map. My only disappointment is that I wish they could have sliced it to include Moore Qatar and deeper into Iran and less UAE. But that is a very minor disappointment I'm super excited for it it's going to make DCS feel like a whole new game after all these years on the Caucasus map. And all the water is on the bottom instead of the left. :-)

Well that sucks. I don't even remeber the Rift software updating... is there an option to turn off auto update in it? I remeber ED posted 1.5.5 was the last update of the year... any chance of a hot fix since Oculus is screwing us on the no rollbacks...? Pretty please... ;) -

So I had a heck of a time finding cool ground unit mods (that still work) the old "here's all the mods" thread doesn't seem to have been touched since 2015. Something to remember about any keys you bind in the UI layer for VR use... If you bind it, but then change your mind and decide you'd rather bind one of those to a different key you'll need to restart DCS to change what you did in the control panel. The UI control bindings are.... sticky and won't change without the game restart. Not an issue at all, just something to be aware of.
