Mission Option F10 Map User Marks
SageOT replied to hoochiekoo's topic in User Created Missions General
Hence the nice checkbox they've included to make it -optional-. Turn it off on your WWII server. I'll leave it on on my server. We all win. Why limit it to one play style? Never understood that. -
+1 for this, but only if you can turn it on and off.

Any chance at an update ref. a hotfix for this? It's about the only major bad thing left for VR users in 1.5.4 that I can see. And just an additional thought on the F10... If based on that new checkbox in the config options menus that we might be able to mark up the F10 map in game in the near future... Is there anyway to make it pop up in your view similar to the briefing screen vs. taking your view back to the hangar? Thanks, Sage

It's all personal preference of course but I find PD 1.6-1.8 makes everything legible in the cockpits and it's not -quite- the drain of 2.0. For me 1.5 is just barely not enough and 2.0 isn't necessary....

[Request]: Give us the ability to save settings to a "data cartrage"
SageOT replied to sabreman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Not sure we will ever get the data cartridge but the new option for allowing user marks on the F10 map. That is a very promising WIP that could practically turn the F10 map into Data cartridge Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
LOL. Only because I broke right and you broke left. Flying like I've got the shakes makes staying if formation rough, but comes in handy when dodging SAMS. :joystick: OP... I saw you mentioned you had models set to large. Some missions, if they were saved in a DCS session that had model enlargement set to off or small will override your settings. Did you double check that you have "Use these settings for all missions." Checked? Just a thought....

So, not flying in a clickable cockpit yet... Don't know what I'll change once the F-18C full module drops. For right now I press in on the Warthog mic hat for Left Mouse Click, use the "forward" push of the right "ENG OPR" for Right Mouse Click and the mic hat "up" for zoom. Don't have the scroll wheel set up yet as I don't really need it. I also just say "Center Head" with Voice Attack for numpad 5/VR center. Lastly, I only play multiplayer co-op so I get to make the call about labels since I build the missions. :music_whistling: :smilewink: Again, I have that set up in Voice Attack and just say "Cheat On" "Cheat Off" so I can get a quick glance at labels if I really need too. I flew a joint co-op on Friday with the VFA-113 and Jar is a bastar.... I mean wonderful man... and makes his missions with "no labels" enforced. :glare::lol: I actually found I didn't miss them and was able to easily spot my targets. I knew where to look thanks to the mission briefing, and with the zoom it was as easy as on my HD TV I used to use. Now of course still not as easy as when I had my 4k, but we really need to stop comparing VR to anything 4k imho.

Have you tried with the new Zoom feature? I found that I can spot them almost as easy as before VR now Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

I finally downloaded 1.5.4, just noticed that too. Any answers? -
Nothing that I notice.

I have an ASUS Z87-K, i7-4770K 3.50 GH, 16gb RAM and a ASUS nVidia 1080. Nothing overclocked. All the settings on high except water and one of the shadows and I noticed no stuttering with or without the texture enhancement. Can't tell you framerates as I don't look at them, I just go by how smooth my view is. :)

That's weird. I noticed a lot of difference. I was able to turn up almost all my in game graphics settings and bump the PD to 2.0, though I've since gone down to 1.6 as I find it's enough for me. And the 1080 appeared to be running it smoother than my 970 did with all the settings on low and the PD not adjusted....
-
It's something else isn't it? So I have my 1080 now. I have almost everything graphics-wise on max, I have no idea what my FPS is as I never look. But I run PD at 1.6 and everything is smooth as all get out. I finally downloaded Starway's texture pack... VR plus it... I have a whole new love for 1.5 now. Darn it, guess I need to donate to the guy. :) Very simple little trick Greekbull taught me last night. The Rift cord is relatively heavy and it was annoying me. Take a chip clip and connect the cord to the back of your shirt collar and poof, comfort increased by half.

Nope. It's free. Can donate if you like.

Sucks man. Good luck. A-10C: A must have imho, http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/421081/ The RAE RWR sounds mod. Nice to haves... Ricardo's Horse of War cockpit, http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1562558/ Starway's texture overhaul for 1.5. https://starwayblog.wordpress.com/ That's about all I ever flew teh A-10C with.... BoxxMann's Tips - Adjust Seat/Eyepoint with VR
SageOT replied to DerekSpeare's topic in Virtual Reality
So, this is going to make me sound dumb.... I did not realize until recently that np5 will center your view while looking at the main menu prior to launching any mission. Makes alignment in the cockpit that much closer to being good with only minor adjustments. Posting just in case someone else is as dumb as me. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
Can somebody answer this for me? In BMS flights get randomly assigned mission call signs, Lobo 1, Cowboy 3, etc. Is that how combat ATO's work in real life? Random name generation, or is it more static? Ie most f15e flights get Dude and a number l, f18c Hornet and a number etc... I am building multiplayer missions for our group. And can't seem to find an answer online. Thanks, Sage Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

First. While this script is awesome I just want to say that the directions document is even awesome-er! Which ever of you guys wrote it, By far the best how to I have seen for setting up a script. I am pretty much functionally retarded when it comes to these things and I got it up and running with ease. Most of the other script's readme files tend to be written for someone who already has knowledge of more than the basics, which sure as heck isn't me. :) Could you guys go through and re-write all the other scripts how-to's out there? *joke* :) Second. Do you all think there is a way to get the fighters to stay in their "boundaries" even after engaging during the "cold war" setup? ie, fight but not chase the intruding plane if it flees back across the border? Just curious. Thanks a lot for putting this together. It is just great! Sage

You mean 1.5 Beta? The update should not have flowed to 1.5 Stable yet... As for that issue... that's the first I've heard of that particular one and I've been trying to keep an eye on all the new bugs just out of curiosity. Sorry, no answer for you. I'm sure someone will be able to help.
