  1. Our site links to the Stinger's download page... They take it down from time to time for maintenance. Also, try right clicking on the link and open link in new tab. That works sometimes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Use the command that switches between , cursor and mouse look. That makes it go away but you have to turn it back on again to interact with the cockpit. Left alt, or left shift c I think... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  3. So back on topic a bit... I may be crazy, but I feel like after the last couple of 1.5 updates, the Rift is even clearer and I haven't changed my settings... Anybody else notice or am I just imagining things? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  4. At the risk of turning this into a VoiceAttack thread... Mad Dog, that's why I kept it simple. If you want to get fancy Froogle has a YouTube tutorial on VA with the DCS menu. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  5. Short answer.... I can't remember what they are made out of, but they're heavy. Yes to the rest, but I don't know the details. I'll have to let Greek give you the long answer. We're in different states and they got shipped to him first. Sorry, for the lack of details. Probably got a little ahead of myself posting, but I was excited. :) I'm sure Greek will post in here soon.
  6. I don't use Viacom. It seems to me to be more of a single player thing and I only play multi-player co-op... So my radio commands are very limited. Basically AWACS/Tanker and ground crew. I was able to set up regular VoiceAttack without issue, so it must be super easy. :joystick::smartass: If it's not been working for you... Are you running it as admin? Do you have it set to send the commands to the "active" window? Have you taken the time to train your Windows voice detection (this helped a bunch) For MadDog... LOL, the Rift mic is great. The guys on TS hear me no problem even if I have it setting on the top of my head. Again, I use a very simple homemade VA profile. I turn my "radio ie \ key" on and off with it. Use it for the F1-12 keys. Open and close the canopy, Esc, screen shot, pause game, labels on/off, switch nav modes in FC3 planes, next/previous waypoint, kneeboard and switch kneeboard pages, Head center, eyepoint shift (example: I say Eyes Back, and it taps the numpad key that moves my eye position back. I say Eyes Back Long, and it holds it down for a second or so for large movements) I also use it to make DCS go full screen and to alt tab through open windows. The only thing I touch the keyboard for at the moment is adjusting pressure altitude, and that's just because I haven't set it up yet. Everything else is either on my HOTAS or VoiceAttack.
  7. There is one that is JSGME compatible don't have the link handy... I tried it but it wasn't for me. Make sure model enlargement is on the highest setting. If I am flying somewhere with labels allowed I just use the default. I don't run with them on always. I have VoiceAttack set up so I can flip them on for a second or two for awareness then flip them back off. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks Elmo. We're pretty excited. I will post sale info for sure. First we have to learn how to make'em. :) We are both doing pits, mine is not switch for switch as I went VR but it will be nice to have some cool looking panels. Greek is leaning towards a full build as he is a pixel whore and can't give up his 4k for VR. :) He just got the molds, but I think he is going to try out a few test runs this weekend. I'm sure he'll post pics. Sage Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  9. So Greekbull and I went in together and bought out the owner of hornetstore.com. We are now the owners of molds made from real f-18 parts. Everything from the hook and gear handles to radio knobs. They just arrived today. Super excited! No F-18C UFC, only an E but the rest are the same for both models. Starting this thread just to show pics as we figure out how to use these things. We do plan to sell the parts made from them, but we have no idea yet on prices, quantities, etc. Once we get that figured out I will post down in the for sale thread. Pics below of the molds. 10. I use the move your head as mouse pointer option. I prefer that but in f10 to drag the bearing/distance line I lose sight of the readout at the top. Is there an option to quickly switch to mouse control then back while in game? If so, I obviously missed it in previous posts, if not.... that would be a wonderful addition. Thanks. 11. People in the know... can we please get an update on this, or even any workarounds until it's officially fixed. It is really messing with my positive vibe man. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  12. Selling a VGA AV Lcd Controller board 8inch AT080TN52 800x600 lcd panel I'm also going to list a 7inch of the same thing and it has the power supply too. Bought them to use with my ThrustMaster MFD's but never got around to using them so they're basically brand new. Don't need them now that I've switched to the Rift. http://www.ebay.com/itm/232064789939?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  13. So I had my 78 year old father who is prone to motion sickness in the rift for the first time ever last night. He flew around for well over 20 minutes doing rolls flips and generally all sorts of out of control stuff with the airplane :-) He never got motion sick once. So I think everyone that complains about the rift getting them motion sick are just a bunch of wussies. *JOKE* ;) ;) :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  14. Humbug, still no F10 map fix for VR... must be a bigger issue to fix than it appears to be.
  15. Finally found out via some RW friends. Basically it's the op creators preference, or random word generation. 11 years with the DoD and I've never seen a classification marking specifically on a call-sign so I don't that that was the reason. :) Thanks for the responses guys.
  16. For sure. I just had a bazillion of those laying around from when I first got into DCS. I was all about the KA-50 originally and thought they would work for a cockpit build for that. Not really much use for them now. It was just bugging me that I couldn't figure them out. :wallbash: I'm about half way through my first project in my 'pit VR re-imagining. Mounting a small box just in front of the throttle that I can reach with my index finger (but far enough forward that in full burner I don't rap my knuckles on it). I'm putting the new VR controls on there. I have LMB, RMB, and a SPDT flat toggle for mouse wheel. Couple of other random toggles and a potentiometer that I'm still up in the air with on what to do. Backlight does look cool. :) ...but... Now my new plan is to just 3D print the remaining panels I still think I'll have use for. Pretty much the gear and hook panels on the forward verticals of the 18C. Since they don't need to look as pretty anymore, that will be much easier/cheaper. The F5 did teach me that it is hard as hell to get the cursor to the rear of the side panels. So my other project is a larger button box behind the throttle with 6ish rotaries and a mode switch and a bunch of toggle switches. That should let me control things like the sensor panel, lights panel, volume, etc.
  17. Thanks for the responses guys. It was bugging me enough that I went and bought a multi-meter (and YouTubed how to use it) :) You're right. It's a DPDT with the LED. Option for constant on or constant off. And no Cichlidfan, it was not obvious originally, for me. I dove into this stuff with the big cockpit building plans. The VR killed the whole switch for switch idea so I forgot most of what little I had taught myself. Going back through now and seeing what I have with plans to do a 'pit still but more a "this works for VR" kind of thing. Thanks again. Sage
  18. This the sale site for one like it. Here I can't find any schematics online. I thought that the LED power was the + and - pins on either side of the middle but it never lights up....
  19. Must have got ahead of themselves. :) Oh well glad to know they are working on something like this.
  20. Hey all. I have found tutorials for how to wire all the various buttons/toggles I have except for this one... Can one of you provide me a diagram for dummies for it? Much appreciated. Sage
  21. Dude, think hard on what you did I'd love to know. [emoji6]
  22. Thanks Franky I will give it a try Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  23. So in the F5 any pages I add through the app show just a blank border.... Is there a .Lua edit I need to make somewhere until the app gets updated for it? Thanks. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  24. Storm is on a monitor. Hollywood uses a Rift, haven't asked him yet how it was at night with the NVG's. I think the A model 18 Mod might have an HMD.... We have not practiced much CASE II, CASE III yet. Tend to do mostly clear weather/daytime flying in the mod.
