VoiceAttack is completely worth the money, easy to set up easy to use. Just make sure you take the time to "train" your sound recognition software. It used the heck out of it before VR, use it even more now that I'm in the Rift. UR is now payware. It is the most stable of all the radio addons in my opinion. Fairly easy to use, and yes it is working in both versions. The other nice thing about UR is that it fully integrates with LotATC.

I haven't looked at the NATOPS for the F-14 but I assume it's roughly the same as the F-18. If it has the front and side panel fold out at the back... If you blow up the ones in the F-18 NATOPS to 400% they are almost dead on to scale. Might be the same with the F-14...

I know it's disqualified due to it being a mod, but it's to pretty not to share. It's hands down my favorite from all the screens the vVFA-2 have taken. Credit for the capture goes to St0rm.

We mostly used it deployed for intel briefings and the like, but I know it was originally designed for pilot planning, so yes, it was a good example. :) Honestly, this has been brought up a lot, but it's true. We really do need something, be it an in game shared interface like BMS or a third party option that integrates with DCS similar to Weapon Delivery Planner by Falcas, again for BMS. My personal preference would be for a 3rd party to tackle this project and have it as a stand alone free mod, for lack of a better word, or work out a license with ED and make it payware. I know I would pay a reasonable amount for it. I gather ED isn't the largest company in the world so can only spread their manpower so thin. Someone else doing it would prevent it from never getting done as it can only rightly be a very low priority for them. Fingers crossed some smart folks out there are already working on something.

Also, did not know Falconview was open source now. Used the crap out of that program back in the day. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Not even falconview if they are able to pull off any type pre mission planner interface that everyone can see in a multiplayer game and then save to a data cartridge that will be the Heat. My least favorite part of mission building is trying to come up with the briefing :-) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Any chance for the F/A-18D after the F/A-18C release?
SageOT replied to DimitryNZ's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Considering the real world Squadron we named our group after flew the D and now F.... It would be real cool for us. :) That said... second time in a week I'm agreeing with a moderator... what's the world coming too... :) :) Like Skate said, way to much coding for too little return. Now once the C is released a skin mod by the community that makes it -look- like a D from the outside would be super cool. Of course, I'm not a computer guy. Don't even know if that is possible without changing the whole 3D modle, but it would be cool. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk -
Nope, you can just use the Rift remote. Only need the xbox controller for Rift games that require it, and when you.... download them, or even before that, I can't remember.... anyway at some point the App/Game will tell you if you need the Xbox controller.

I personally have not done it yet (just been to lazy :)), but according to posters on this thread, and my Squadron mates who have done it, it definitely makes a difference in gauge clarity in the cockpit.

So these VR enhancements, the pixel slider thing, Zoom, mouse click on HOTAS... Is it possible to get a response along the lines of: These are all things we are working on having in the merge OR these are things we are trying to implement in 1.5 and 2.0 in the next few patches... I know, I know. The update will happen when it's ready. Two more weeks and all that... Not asking for a release date, more a comment on the release plan. All at once or as they get them functioning? Love my Rift, and love the love ED is giving VR. Just idle curiosity on a lazy Sunday. Thanks, Sage

Uncheck "Auto detect Oculus Rift" close the game and restart. When ready to go back to VR, check the box and restart. That's the only way I'm aware of for now.

Awesome news! Thanks Wags. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Not going to lie I started using labels for air-to-air but I came from a 4K so I'm using the labels to figure out when I actually start seeing stuff once they getting close I use voice attack to turn off the labels once I'm used to where I pick stuff up with the new resolution I'll turn them off altogether Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

We have a real world pilot and our group and he stated basically the same stuff as someone who will probably never fly reel planes that's good to hear :-) also welcome aboard penjgn :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

It amazes me what you all smart computer people can do either way. Hack away. :) (Not a comparison) BMS's code somehow has a way to launch the player aircraft if you are lined up on the cat and kick in the AB... Granted no AB on the A4E (right?) but it makes me wonder if there is a way to make that magical AI catapult work for a player plane too. Sorry, not trying not be an a** just bored at work and speculating out loud. To bad there's not a a mission script that could work, not have to mess with it in the plane code at all....

:poster_offtopic:SiTh, LOL, I think this is one of the first times I've agreed with you or another Mod. I love DCS and flight simming in general but I've never been an ED "fanboy" (not saying you guys are) ED's corporate and market decisions drive me batty if I take the time to dwell on them. But I fully believe you that they must be dumping a lot of resources into the merge and I have to guess that once that monster is put to bed that we'll see increased speed of development on the other aspects/modules, even CA. :) I still think the future is very bright for us DCS players... now will I get to enjoy that future while my 3 year old is still a toddler or will I be raving about it to her while she drives me to the old folks home after my weekend visit to see my grand-kids... that's the kicker. :pilotfly::smartass: --I still vote for an overhaul and re-work of the whole CA module. It's the one time I think more "realism" isn't needed on the F1 view. These guys have sold me in the last couple of posts. If you want an armored sim go take out a second mortgage and get Steel Beasts Pro. Fix the mentioned bugs and focus on adding to the abilities of the tactical commander and I'll re-buy it as a new module. The only F1 view I think needs to be kept is for that human JTAC/Observer role with the laser, binos and smoke ability. Other than that F2 and F10 all the way.
-
Fri13, that sounds amazing! Get on it. :) I didn't really think about it but you're right. Outside of a being able to set a unit to JTAC and see out of it in the first person, CA does not need any direct view for it's vehicles. A move to have it act more like an RTS would just be... wow. Perfect.

Guys, this thing looks so great. Best of luck, can't wait to give it a try. The Hornet mod is able to take off via the invisible ramp on the current HW Bush carrier mod. Not sure if that is a trick of the flight model too, or just the Hornet has enough AB power to take off with the ramp? Are you guys using the Bush as your carrier or something else? I know less than -zero- about coding or mods, so don't take what I said as a suggestion or complaint. Just curious about how it all works. Again, looks so cool, can't wait.

I know this is the back burner of modules but I'm with you Apocalypse31. I don't think I have seen any "official" word on it in quite a while. As someone who only really plays MP Co-op CA is a great tool even in its current state. To know what the official roadmap on it is would be great. I would be more than happy with the path finding, damage model, more units and infantry being added first prior to any updates in the FPS part of the module.
-
That one doesn't actually bother me. I actually like "standing" in the hangar on 2.0. If I'm going to do some mission building I just uncheck the Oculus.

Not a comparison to fsx. Check this out. What impressed me most was it proves a working zoom can be done in VR and the ability to drag in desktop windows. ED if you can make it so I can zoom, and drag in my 9 line card and maps you will be my VR heroes. Even if you made a program like this and charged for it as an additional module, I would bitch and moan to no end, but I would buy it from you in a heartbeat. :) Man the future is going to be awesome. If you can find an old list of which BB locations were doing the demo.... those seem to be the only ones that got any sale units. Can narrow down your call list.
-
That's cool, but I would rather it be the remote than take up a hotas button... I have no idea how that works though.... not even sure the remote shows up in the devices list... need to look. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Is there a way to make the rift remote control work as the mouse button? If not Wags, is that something that could be made into DC s in the future? Because I could just velcro that thing to my throttle and the clickable cockpit just became that much easier in VR.
