  1. Yes. Very much needed. To bad the Rift doesn't have an on/off switch. Maybe two seperate. Exe launchers for DCS vs the GUI check box? Don't know, but something that doesn't force a restart to turn on/off VR would be great. I just added all the view keys to my VoiceAttack profile last night. Works great, and no wasted HOTAS keys that way. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  2. ^ This. Although, I'm impressed with how long this one has run. :wallbash:
  3. Thanks Mad Dog, like I said, just missed it I guess. That's more good news in a continual line of good VR news. I've been climbing the walls waiting for the F18 release.... pretty much reached the top, going to have to figure out a way to climb on to the ceiling spider pig style I guess waiting for the VR update. :) Thank Gawd, Wags and the ED team seem to love VR. The speed and transparency of the VR support has been the best I've seen from ED. Can. Not. Wait. until that update pushes out, going to be sweet!
  4. Has there been an update announced for the radio menus? I was just thinking back to all the other things shown/mentioned and couldn't remember seeing anything. That said anybody come up with a temporary fix? If I lean in and stare real hard I can just make them out, but that's not exactly optimal... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  5. I know software is behind the hardware but I had the cash right now for a 1080 so figured, why not. @Derek, I know, but it's been at least what? 15 minutes since someone asked? Got to keep on these guys :-) :-) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  6. I'm not a computer guru so I'm sure someone who knows -way- more than me will answer shortly, but I have a INTEL I7-4770K 3.5 GHZ no, overclocking and my Rift runs just fine with that and my 970. I don't know what my framerates are, never checked. With everything on low the game is super smooth and playable so that's all I've cared about. I'm not upgrading my CPU, but I do have a 1080 coming next month so I plan to bump up the in game settings then. I also run the pixel thing at 1.5.
  7. Most of the "kinks" I found were in the slightly confusing interface. It's not super intuitive, but once you get how he laid it out it's great. j0nx, from what I understand from Wags... posts, or livestream, can't remember... The kneeboard is fixed in VR now. We just have to wait for that (what I assume will be a monster) update that includes all those VR fixes. Of course all that is moot for me because I made the decision to fly an aircraft mod with a broken kneeboard no matter what ED does. ED any word on the F-18C module release date, or has that been asked by someone recently? *joke* :megalol:
  8. Derek, if you weren't already aware, this guy's program is great. I used it all the time before I switched to flying the f18 mod (the knee board is broke in it) http://www.dcskneeboardbuilder.com/ Best thing I have found to make quick custom kneeboards. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  9. I finally tried it. Opened Oculus home, opened debug tool, chanel to 1.5 opened DCS. Completely made all the cockpit gauges I could not read before readable. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  10. Lol, Sith. I was just going to ask what the heck Rep really mattered for then saw this. Question answered. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  11. USSInchon, I'll give you that one AI plane models could definitely have a place but that is still not nearly as resource-intensive it's creating playable modules Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  12. I'm with the majority here, just not quite as violently as some. As a flight sim hobbyist who enjoys all those listed sims I have to admit I don't understand why folks keep requesting civilian planes in -this- sim. All sims of course have their issues but Xplane, P3D, FSX all offer excellent GA and large civilian aviation experiences, and just as important to that type of flying offer complete access to the full world to fly in without any need to build a mission. If ED or a 3rd party were to release a GA plane, you'd be paying an equal price for a much more limited experience. Why would you want to do that? For those that only want to simulate military aviation, this simulator is basically their only choice, why use up time and resources creating anything other than military planes/helos for -this- sim? To that end, look at the (overall) negative reaction of this community (as a whole) any time even a trainer is announced. If I'm a 3rd party dev who would like to make money why in God's name would I release a Cessna 172 made for this game where it would be lambasted by the community and most likely barely sell. I'm going to use my time and effort to make it for a sim where people want it and will spend money on it. All that said... I think Mig21* said it best earlier. I believe there is a place for other types of aircraft here that are not fighters and bombers. A Bird Dog, a Bronco, C130, transport helos, ect... planes that are GA-like, but have a place in a military simulation and can play a role in missions. If we are going to see non-combat aircraft in this sim I would hope, and I expect, those are the kind of things we would get eventually. Finally, because this got long winded... The others are right. The OP has all the rights in the world for a wishlist, but I just think there is no need for that list as that stuff is already out there on the market elsewhere. Sage
  13. No contacts and my eyesight isn't terrible, only wear my glasses driving pretty much. So I don't wear any type of eye wear in the Rift. I did however get my first headache after about 2 hours straight in the goggles. I still find them amazingly comfortable, with no strain on my face or neck after that long, just the red raccoon ring on my face. So I'm guessing it was from eye strain. Again, that's the first time I've ever had issues. So for me 2 hours seems to be the, "Take a break you nerd." point.
  14. DCS World 1.5 and 2.0 both support VR.
  15. Awesome, thanks Stuka! Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  16. Gents, The old download had a pdf with a list of all the ranges.... I just downloaded the most recent version on the 476th site and no pdf... did it get moved to a different location by itself? Lost my old one :/ Thanks, and thanks again for all the hard work the 476th shares with the community. Sage
  17. Yeah it's pretty awesome that was the first trick my brain played on me was trying to rest my elbows on the canopy rail Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  18. I -think- this is the issue Wag's mentioned they have addressed already. It's fixed, just not out via update yet. I -think- what your describing is the mouse "leaving" the active DCS window. What Wags mentioned was there will be an option to "trap" your mouse to DCS. That said your issue doesn't sound exactly like that problem... When the cursor comes back on screen it's not functional at all anymore, or just down there on the battery switches? I have a monitor between me at the Rift sensor. 99% of the time it's not an issue, but if I dip my head low enough I do lose contact... Just thinking about where you would be looking down low at the Battery Toggle.... throwing that out as another possible reason for the error...
  19. You shut your face hole. That kind of logical comment does not belong on here! :rotflmao::lol:
  20. Sure. They usually aren't as exciting as mission screens but I bet the guys can catch a few cool ones. :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  21. Absolutely! I've asked about supporting the Rift remote a couple of times. No response yet. I honestly have no idea if it can be done. It would be great, but if they can't, the fact that they're making the ability to mouse click with HOTAS controls will be more than good enough. The remote working is more of an icing on the cake thing.
  22. Grundar, Divorce?! It's going to be a functioning MP shared cockpit. Just build out the RIO seat and plop her in it. Family fun day! :smilewink::pilotfly::joystick::joystick:
  23. Cobra, I'm sure they are for the level of detail you all have to deal with. For a home cockpit though, that can stand to be off scale a bit, the F-18 NATOPS worked very well. I have a too scale F-18 DDI and the NATOPS fold out blown up to like 398% was just a mm or two off when you laid that DDI bezel over it. As there is no tomcatpits.org like there are hornetpits.org and viperpits.org. Figured it might at least give the OP a starting point. EDIT: Come to think of it... OP join both of those sites I mentioned. I just remembered at least one person on one of them... I -think- it was hornetpits.org was working on an F-14 'pit. He might have what you're looking for, and everybody on those sites are very open and helpful. Looking forward to the release Cobra, can't wait to see this beast you guys have created in game, and especially in VR! Sage
  24. VoiceAttack is completely worth the money, easy to set up easy to use. Just make sure you take the time to "train" your sound recognition software. It used the heck out of it before VR, use it even more now that I'm in the Rift. UR is now payware. It is the most stable of all the radio addons in my opinion. Fairly easy to use, and yes it is working in both versions. The other nice thing about UR is that it fully integrates with LotATC.
  25. I haven't looked at the NATOPS for the F-14 but I assume it's roughly the same as the F-18. If it has the front and side panel fold out at the back... If you blow up the ones in the F-18 NATOPS to 400% they are almost dead on to scale. Might be the same with the F-14...
