  1. Is the montly update for February here somewhere between these posts, or will there be a new thread? Im hoping for a new thread or at least an update in the OP if it aint released yet :) Edit: just realized there is no update for February. I'll be patience.
  2. Yes, someone would have to make it but I dont think we should expect it... But with this, we know that there wont any limitations with map sizes, and FYI the size of the map wont effect performance. Im not 100% sure about this with performance, but it makes sence as we today can adjust how long range of the map will be rendered from your view in the options, and Im sure thats how it will work with EDGE too... Sounds only logical. And how I understand it, the maps that will come with DCS 2, will probably not be too large as it will be easier to find bugs and so on.. Consider these maps as a testbed, maybe.
  3. My question to you is, is this possible?? You not only double posted one of your links but you could have done this all in one post..? And I think someone is missing the point here. Edit: This could have been in the off topic forum, as it aint much DCS related.
  4. FYI, with EDGE, the whole world can be made as one map, so there is basically no limitation to how big a map can be. I dont get how many people seems to have missed this beloved information... But just becouse it is possible, dont expect ED or anyone to do it, but if you didnt know - Now you do. No limitations in map sizes.
  5. Question regarding waypoints. In mission editor, when you set a waypoint, you can set altitude of that waypoint too.. How important is this alltitude to pass a waypoint?
  6. With trackir, if you have a mouse with one or two additional buttons, you could use one of those to ''pause'' your trackir or use the precision mode. I usually map the reset key and pause key to my two additional buttons on my mouse.
  7. It is better for you to just take a look at the runways direction in the F10 view, this way you will easier learn what a coordinated heading (degree) will be compared to N, E, S or W. This will be very useful when youre flying, using information from AWACS etc... When you ask you AWACS for a picture knowing theres an enemy close by, you wont have time to check the map lol. If you allready can tell where an AWACS spots an enemy for you, you wouldnt need to check satelite view to zoom in on the numbers, or using the F2 view.. Just saying. Edit: Knowing that 00 is N, 90 E, 180 S and 270 W, I can easily tell which side of the runway is 14 and which runway is 32. If you can pick this up quite easily, it is only good for you.
  8. Game is still improving, and to implement these improvements your game will have to update. Also, if you dont have the latest updates, you may not be able to play online (multiplayer). Your game is basically just getting better with these updates, which is pretty normal these days. Before, you would buy your game on a disc and that was it. Any glitches and bugs on that game would never get fixed, but thanks to our technology today, our games will only improve!
  9. you can check your Kneeboard which will have your airfield on a map with runways etc.. 22 is usually heading where trafic is heading which means you'll take off heading 220 degrees and landing at 220 degrees. This may be a little bit off at times, I think Lochini got a runway 14 thats actually heading 130 (13). (Im not saying you dont know this, but just in case you dont, now you do!) Edit: And since you got your airfield on your Kneeboard, its really not that unrealistically to use F10 to see the map of your airfield.
  10. Congratulation! Looks very good! I got a x-55 profile for the F-15c up for share in the DCS user files, and I'd like to add a link of your review of the Rhino. Can I? http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1018080/?PAGEN_2=2?
  11. I belive in the F-35... Give it time before you'll jugde it.. Never have this many systems been put into one aircraft.... Thinking that production will go all the way to the finishline without any problems to solve, are ignorant thinking imo, With all the programming that gotta take place, Im sure glitches and bugs will happen (wink wink) and you cant just release a plane as if you could with a game beocuse here, life is at stake. And of course, sorting out any problems will take some time which again will of course cost more money.... I really think that this will be a killer machine! Internally 2000lbs bombs with missiles, it sure can hit a punch while beeing stealth and where stealth aint that important it can make a even bigger punch! With the ability to defend itself if needed! Also, those on the ground will see their CAS come in much faster then the Warthog... Where time is, well, death maybe? lol Edit: 2x 2000lbs bombs internally Edit: Only think I dont got too much hope for, are those touchscreens... Ive smashed several phones in a wall or the ground becouse of this lol
  12. Thanks for your replies, I will have to take a closer look at this next time Im up :) (having a shitty chair destroying my back which also kills my hours of flight..!)
  13. Dont you mean minus 10? I ask becouse I dont know lol I dont think the manual goes into detail about this, as you can see on page 39 (AoA Indicator?) To me, units = deg + 10, sounds more like 28 units would mean 38 degrees? But if you ment to say minus 10 (28 units = 18 degrees) I dont understand how u can read 5 units on the AoA indicator. Please enlighten me!
  14. read this http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/250300/manuals/F-15C%20DCS%20Flaming%20Cliffs%20Flight%20Manual%20EN.pdf?t=1404412233 :D
  15. I dont really think so, except looking at the VSD. When youre at high altitudes, you can set it to 10nm and you'll see you wont be able to scann down to ground/sea level and vice verca.
  16. 60 degrees up and down ''You can tilt the radar elevation coverage 60 degrees up and down with the [RShift+;] and [RShift+.]'' page 67 http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/250300/manuals/F-15C%20DCS%20Flaming%20Cliffs%20Flight%20Manual%20EN.pdf?t=1404412233
  17. Try to make a mission with one AI inbound to land and you will see how he can do it on his own and how easy it is to interupt their flight. My guess is that theyre interupting eachother? Once interupted they will circle around to try again but Ive never tried with two AI's landing together so Im pretty much as clueless as you guys :)
  18. MSI got some great gaming laptops. This is my ''rig'' http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE70-2OE.html#hero-overview :)
  19. Have you tried without interupting their flight? When an AI lands, flying in front of him or close by him, or even just flying above the airfield a bit low kinda, will interupt their flight..
  20. After every sessions in multiplayer, there will be a track automatically saved in Replays in the main DCS menu. If the server does not support live recording with tacview, you have to watch the replay (track) and tacview will automatically record (you dont have to run tacview at all), as long as you've told it to record DCS as stated above me. Note: The tracks may get corrupted, like when you taxi to take off and you did it as in the book, the track will show you going off in the grass and you'll be stuck there but you will still see your AB and the plane ''manuvering'' as if you were in the air, which u really was. Only the first track you make online wont get corrupted, so if you decide to join another session by disconnecting, you should exit multiplayer and enter it again for a new first track that will be recorded propperly. Ive never had any issues getting clean tracks this way to use in tacview. But, you should also note that when you run the replay at higher speed, like x10, the track recorded by tacview may become a bit weird, like a missile doing a nice steady turn will do a 90* turn like an ''L'' in tacview. Best is to run at x1 or maybe max x3 speed. Correct me if needed, but I never had any problems with tacview recording like this.
  21. Didnt know the F-15c could carry bombs... please correct me!
  22. lol most warbirds have seen more combat then most modern fighters......................... smh Voted 5.
  23. Updated. Added flares and chaffs to scroll wheel forward/back on the throttle.
  24. Ok. I wasnt logged in and it wont let me, all it says is incorrect login which its not! Ive read something about this some time ago where I need adjust gmt settings or something on the dcs homepage?? A answer here would be very much appreciated while I try to search for an answer on this forum.. :)
