slowly becoming my preferred ww2 module in DCS...
ctguy1955 replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
Time to work on landings, good thing there is so much great stuff on here to read !!! Thanks Fast Fred, I appreciate the advice. Taking off is easy when you do it right and pay attention and its so weird the amount of time I spent so frustrated to all of a sudden because of some great help, I just did a 180 change. Well, now its 95, but I will get it back up to 180 again !!! LOL *************************************************************************** I played MP today and only had one bad takeoff and did really well. as long as I keep my mind on what Im doing, things are ok. Sure makes me happy to be able to play in MP and finally be able to take off with no problems like in the first 100 attempts. Im learning land better, but have a lot of work ahead of me !! -
The above link has lots of Corsairs and P-51's and the sound is good.

Its sorta funny, I started to get really good at taking off the Dora, and then I bought the Mig21 and spent days flying it and learning different things. I felt that after a few days I should go back. I went on MP and three times crashed the dora in a row, so I went to SP and then after a few attempts I was able to do ok. I thought that a "repair" had changed my joystick settings or something and lo and behold, they were still set up well. Its hard to believe that after just a few days, I could digress this much in my abilities. It is not like riding a bicycle I guess.....You have to practice !!! -
I could not get my gears to go up or down using the G key on keyboard, and only because I watched a video on youtube about starting up did I find out about the knob to use.

I just purchased Mig21 today and I love it ! I have so much to learn !

freeze and sound stays on, task manager says unresponsive
ctguy1955 replied to ctguy1955's topic in Game Crash
I bought Mig21 today and it did the same thing again. I just dont know how to fix this ? I turned off the overclocking on my SLI GPU's to see if the OC had caused it, and it happened again. After I did the "Repair DCS" it ran for hours last night no problem. Now that This happened in single player during training, Im lost. -
freeze and sound stays on, task manager says unresponsive

I did a "repair dcs world" and now it seems to be ok. I lost all of my english cockpits, but thats ok, the important thing is its now not crashing anymore. -
I made a dmp file from the task manager and its 4.2 gigs in size !!! I searched around and found others had uploaded their Me and DCS logs and so I will do the same. Is it a sound card issue with the drivers or what ?? Thanks for any help as this only started recently and its happening every time I play MP now. me.zip dcs.zip

My dcs is freezing every time now but sound keeps going and task manager says its not responding. I did a dmp file and its 4.2 gigs long. The DCS crash files up above are short, where do I find them ??? Thanks for any help with this !!!

Screen freezes ingame, sound and game continues
ctguy1955 replied to thesystem's topic in Game Crash
I have had my Dora in MP just stop and freeze, but the sound stays on and the manager says its not responding. I created a dmp file and it does not make any sense to me. its 4.2 gigs in size and the word NUL must appear a million times. I dont know how to determine what is wrong ? I have not installed any new software, but I will do a cc cleaner and malware check, but this has me really baffled. Anyone have any idea about what file or thing I can do the next time this happens ? I was viewing the dump file in wordpad ++ so Im not sure if that is even the right viewer ???? Thanks for any help. My MB and CPU and sli GPU's are under water and are nice and cool. Thanks -
http://greatnewenglandairshow.com/ I have not been to a airshow in 20 years and I just happened to look it up online and its in one week, for once I did not look too late !!!

Yours is the only question about this on DCS. I had hoped to find the answer myself. Hope you get one soon.

I wish the huey had autopilot !

WOW, the rivets and everything looks so great !! Thank You so much !!!

I sat on the runway today in the Dora, while talking online via team speak, and could not believe how it must have overheated my engine as it would not fly ! iFoxRomeo, I wish I could give you a hundred "Rep's" but it says I cant give you anymore and need to spread it around. It was such a pleasure talking with you and having you help me learn to T/O the Dora.

I want to thank all of you so much for all of your help. Today I had a personal lesson on a private server that iFoxRomeo had set up and while I did crash twice, I was able to take off three times on a server, and that has never happened before. I cant even begin to say Thank You enough to iFoxRomeo for taking the time to help me out and just sit on the runway watching me and coaching me and giving me hints via ts3 client and enabling me to gain much needed confidence and for just being an all around really nice guy. Seems like I get more nervous when someone is watching me and that was a small problem on servers as opposed to single player. I also did a 29 curve on my pitch and 23 curve on my roll and I think my joystick was too sensitive and I kept lifting my nose too early and stalling and crashing to the left. I mostly had gone to 25, but now I just go full throttle and dont use my brakes. Thank You so much iFoxRomeo, and all of you that made it possible for me to finally get a handle on what was causing me grief, now to just practice what ive learned. The weather here got hot today, and even though I am water cooling my system, I got a watchdog blue screen shutdown right in the middle of a lesson and had to call it a day. WDE's are something that can be caused by so many things, but it does not happen that often. I love the Dora and may now also have a better chance with the K4 too ****************************************************************** Im back, and I have taken off in MP several times now in the dora and not a single crash ( except when looking for flaps button and nosed in after wheels were up ) I even applied what I learned to the K4 and took it off twice in a row with no problems and the Dora had the 500 PD bomb too ! That was a first !!! Only time will tell. -

I think back of my first flights with the stang and I had a lot of problems, and that was with all the assists on too !!! I eventually got so I can take off and land very well. Now while my skills at taking off with the dora are very poor, my landing skills are just as bad. Its not easy to practice landing, if you cant take off !!! LMAO !!! There are so many videos of others that make it look so easy, especially the one where there is so much fog, you cant see a thing. Thank You so much for your help, I really appreciate it very much !!! Clear Skies !!!! -

OK, I just was able to take off twice in a row !!! Not saying it was pretty, but it felt so good to at least accomplish it !!! I did a 30 curve on my joystick pitch and a 23 curve on the roll and it really helped !!! My joystick was just too sensitive to my movements and now with not hitting the brakes and just easing the throttle forward to gain speed, I do get airborne !! Need a lot more practice before I try it with multiplayer, but at least I feel better now ! Thank You !!!! -

Thank You Ultra, I will Try !!! -
I will try this for the DORA as I cant take off for beans. *********************************************** I have to say that changing my Saitek X36F pitch to 30 and roll to 23 has enabled me to now be able to take off every time without any more problems. I got a lot of help from a friend who sat in his plane on his server and watched me take off and gave me hints what to do, and that was what really helped me, but changing my joystick curves really helped too !!!

My wings hit the ground and I crash. I tried to upload a track, but even trying to change its name, it says I have already done so in another thread. 90 percent was what I named the thread. I do have a very bad problem of keeping the dora going straight down the runway. I tap on the right brake a lot and have my right rudder pedal slightly forward and if I try to have my joystick to the right, my right wing hits. If I keep it straight back, the left wing hits. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=141807&highlight=90+percent here is the link to the thread with the track. I listen to what people tell me and Ive tried and tried. I just dont get it !!! -

ctguy1955 replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
I have done tests to watch outside view to see when my back wheel leaves the ground and it can happen pretty fast. I normally just pull the stick straight back, push my brakes in, rev up to 25 and let go of the brakes. I keep reading that I should just let the dora take off by itself. I practised again last night for an hour or so and while I am sometimes ok, most of the time I crash. I sent my X52 back to saitek (katz) and am now using a olod saitek X36F and X35T and I know that I had better luck taking off with the X52, so that is why I keep messing with curves and dead zones with the X36F but I really have no idea of what Im doing. I keep thinking my rudder pedals are too sensitive and try a 30 curve and nothing I do is helping. I had problems with the P51 at first, but after much practice, I NEVER have any problems now. So I would have thought I would be ok by now with the Dora as I have spent so much time trying over and over. Its like Im not learning ? -
OK, this is very interesting and I would also like to be able to change from shooting at a label and just have black dots ....... Not sure how to do this for the P-51D ? Thanks for any help

I am using no assists and I can honestly say that Ive tried 200 times to take off and most of the time I crash. Not so much in single player, but just about every time in multi player. Ive tried to vary the amount of power and messed with my curves on the rudder and no matter what, I end up with my left or right wing hitting the ground and I crash. I can not tell you how frustrating this is as no other plane gives me this trouble. ( well, the other german plane may, but I figured that I need to master the Dora first ) -

I am downloading the 10074 version right now. Im not sure if the one I have on my extra hard drive is the insider preview or the IT one but I had no luck at all getting DCS World to work on it at all. I downloaded the new Nvidia Beta Drivers for DX12 as well. Took me forever to get them to work with three screens. So others do get DCS to work...wonder what Im doing wrong ?
