DCS: AJS37 Viggen - Landing and Taking Off from a road!
mattebubben replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
There no such ability implemented into the game so far. But Leatherneck stated on Sundays Stream they are looking into it. And yea the ability to use roadbases for Re-arming etc would be awesome. -
A Viggen Display from 1995 on the 50th Birthday of the F15 Wing (Flying the AJS 37). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JK3Vx_G2k0 Cant get it to embedded properly =P.

Possible to have a topic with videos of real Viggen ?
mattebubben replied to Skulleader's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
As spiddix said there is already a Viggen Video thread. -
There are only a few mixed loads possible. The Countermeassure pods / Jammers are possible to carry with any weapon type (except for Anti-ship missile ofc due to the Pylon conflict) as are the Air-Air Aim-9 variants. Bombs can not be mixed with any other weapon type other then Aim-9s as far as i know. Same with Rockets pods . Mavericks and RB 05As can only be mixed with Gunpods (Missiles on the two fuselage pylons and Gunpods on the Inner Wingpylons). I dont think the Anti-ship missiles can be mixed with any other Air-Ground ordnance (though i could always be wrong) and the same is probably true for the BK 90. So for strike munitions its mostly limited to a single type with the exception being the Gunpods / Air-Ground Missile combo. Someone with access to the Module might be able to correct me but i think that should cover the possible loadouts =P. Guess we will have to see on friday.

The Su 7 is a completely different aircraft though. But yea the Su-17/22 is a very combat proven aircraft that has seen service in all parts of the World (as well as seeing combat in many areas) including most of the Warsaw pact nations and many many more in all the parts of the world (With Operators in Europe,The Middle east,Africa,South America and Asia). So it would Suit a large number of different maps / Scenarios. And its an aircraft i would very much love to see.

We should be able to raise/lower the seat in the AJS 37 im 90% sure about that.
-
We should also have the ability to raise and lower the seat so that might also help with getting to some buttons / Switches.

R-550Mk2 (Magic 2) & Super 530D Performances: Synthesis and sumary
mattebubben replied to sedenion's topic in M-2000
Soon after release the ED 530 and 550 where replaces by those made by Razbam. (The ED missiles had the problem with the Insane Drag). So the Missiles for the Mirage 2000C work perfectly and have been doing so for a long time. -
The Dream would ofc be if ED could add the QFE number to be displayable together with the altitude above ground on the F10 Map. But the solution you guys made with the Waypoint / Kneeboard page is very nice and makes it a whole lot easier for us soon to be Viggen pilots =). Though many of the players on the Blue flag servers are already into going a bit more hardcore on mission planning etc so im sure some of them might actually like the added complexity of having to calculate the target QFE setting using the technique Ragnar just mentioned ^^.

Bunyap Test Flight - Shows Maverick Deployment.
mattebubben replied to Morgue's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
That would be the effect from having to much coffee in the system. -
Stupid question but i have to ask. Have you guys remembered to Align the INS correctly? Maby the Server Forces Manual Alignment?

With the JA37D upgrades in the 90s and the addition of the Aim-120s it got some new life in it and once again made it more or less top of the line for a BVR engagement (The Datalink it had combined with the Aim-120 made for a Lethal Combination) And i thought the RB 74 started reaching Swedish units in 1986? not 1988?. Or was there an upgrade required on the JA 37 before it could use the RB 74?.

Its the Language of Civilian Aviation. Not Military Aviation.

AJS-37 Viggen livery wishes and discussions
mattebubben replied to CHSubZero's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Well the Viggen Depicted in those pictures is not a AJS or AJ but rather JA 37s (as shown by the Armament and the Rudder). And for a JA the FG tag would probably be the correct one. (As it has the Same meaning as the JA tag as in Fighter first Attack Second) But sure for the AJS the GR tag would fit. For the AJ it could be either GA or GR. -
AJS-37 Viggen livery wishes and discussions
mattebubben replied to CHSubZero's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
The Fighter Viggen had the Skyflash (British Improved variant of the Sparrow) But the Attack Viggen with its Air-Ground radar is ofc not capable of doing so. -
Not all nationalities have the text in their Native Languages. Though an export Viggen would probably have had the text in what ever language the nation in question wanted.

Thanks. The important part for the Viggen would be having the waypoints in order to get the QFE settings on the Kneeboard. Since that is crucial for many of the weapons (All unguided munitions rely on having correct QFE settings) Having good flightplans etc is less important then getting that QFE info =P. (That will be automatically put together on a Kneeboard page if you have a waypoint at a location). So having simple waypoints at the static land based targets would be of great help =P. Since without waypoints it would be very hard to get accurate QFE settings for target areas (unless one did all the research and tried to manually calculate QFE) many of the weapons (Bombs,Rockets,Gunpods) would be more or less unusable without the correct QFE setting. You could simply assign the waypoints according to distance to target (static targets only) and you would not really have to do anything fancy just a waypoint at each target so that QFE setting page on the Kneeboard is generated. Thanks again.

Why dont the plebs just learn Swedish ^^. If we all had to learn English its just fair for them to learn Swedish in return is it not? ^^.

The guy who made those Missions (Skjold) is a forum member (and he is usually active enough in this Viggen Section). So if you want more or other Viggen missions for that game you can always ask him.

Though the A 32 lansen might have been worth mentioning since that was the predecessor to the Attack Viggen. (as the Draken was never seriously considered for the Attack role but was a Fighter/interceptor with the A32 doing the strike mission untill the AJ 37 entered service). Good video and im looking forward to the Next one Tomorrow =).

Any thoughts about creating a Recon Viggen ?
mattebubben replied to AdurianJ's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Id say the easiest variant would probably be the SH 37 (or AJSH 37) since it would require less changes then the SF/AJSF 37. Since for the SH 37 the Visual model would be more or less identical and the cockpit only has some slight modification. Radar is also the same spec as the AJS 37 so no need change anything there. So they would just need to add the Camera Pods and maby some System changes. Where as for a SF/AJSF 37 would require more significant changes to the Visual model,Cockpit,Systems and might also require some slight modifications to the flightmodel. the SH 37 (and especially AJSH 37) would also keep more of the combat capabilities. Though i agree the SF 37 can be good looking. -
With now only 5 days remaining i would like to Renew my question =P.
