  1. +1 However long it may take, the A-4 will have far more significance to me than any DCS module ever has.
  2. +1 for Imgur Ironically sophomore year of college Alan (the guy who founded imgur) lived in the dorm room next to mine. Nice guy.
  3. The first thing jumping out at me is an Su-27 shouldn’t be able to reach Mach 2.52. Unless I’m misinformed.
  4. This is OT but the thrust required to taxi on tarmac is far too high. This isn’t just my opinion, this is in the -1 for the F-15: From a Hushkit article: Sorry again for going OT but this is the far more annoying ‘same old issue’ for me.
  5. VR Pros: Drastically increased SA in the WVR environment (e.g., BFM, Formation Flight, AAR, and general aircraft maneuvering) VR Cons: Unable to spot fighter sized aircraft >~5nm, can literally see the aircraft appear disappear at a certain range. This is a massive disadvantage compared to the unrealistic amount of zoom when using a monitor (Its practically like having a small telescope in your cockpit) All IMO of course :)
  6. Indeed. The JFS handle, landing gear lever, steering mode panel, main comms panel (if radio were integrated), master arm, jettison select, etc.
  7. I think there are some misconceptions about force sensing being discussed here but I’ll leave it go. Here are the specs on the lightning: http://realsimulator.com/html/fssb_r3_lighting.html
  8. Here’s Thrustmaster’s guide: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/thr_eng_00140.pdf
  9. I don’t disagree with you Weta, however this quote comes to mind:
  10. Possibly, but in the video the orientation change is instantaneous or at least occurs completely between frames, carrying no momentum into the following frames(s). Aside from just an orientation change the flight path before and after intercept appears to change completely. I don’t know the reason for manipulating the video or what it would imply. I don’t doubt that the aircraft was damaged in the incident either. Just wanted to point it out.
  11. I just came across this tweet suggesting possible image manipulation. After watching the slowed down footage the aircraft orientation is inconsistent before and after the “intercept”.
  12. One option for those using a VKB stick: Using the VKB Device config software With the axes2button option, you can program a certain button to be pressed when the axis value is within a specified range. So you could set the button for limiter override to be enable when the pitch axis is further than 75% aft
  13. I think the CFT’s were available with or without hard points Source
  14. It probably wouldn’t be any different than programming any other store now that I think about it.
  15. I’m all for the option. IMO CFT’s wouldn’t be a simple addition however and would require a number of specific changes to the flight model. Considering the F-15 is an FC3 module makes it very unlikely (again IMHO) we’ll see any new features added.
  16. Speaking of sound, here’s NASA’s F-18 Acoustic Flight Test Database.
  17. Are the LED’s working? Can you describe the problem you’re having in more detail?
  18. Vive only because I owned a rift which broke. Customer support is terrible and I wasted $500.
  19. Agreed. The arguments in this thread are purely conjecture.
  20. Click on the airfield in The F10 map and check the lower left to see the wind conditions.
  21. Those are stories, not data and are entirely subjective. You don’t believe the Cl data from NASA. I provide that data. You change the subject again. Forever ‘moving the goal posts’.
  22. Roger that. I was able to find this: I think a skin with the boron/carbon composite surfaces being black/diffuse would look awesome with PBR. Anyways, keep up the great work!
