A fine plane it is - also looking forward to the ZA :)

I agree - but in my opinion to a certain degree there are a few corners which needs to be cut as long as the person flying doesn´t have a 1:1 replication of the actual cockpit. Even in such high fidelity simulations like DCS.

I´m sure other things have priority atm but just checking back in - anything new in regards of the template?
-
Thats not how I feel, thats the way it´s implemented at the moment. And why should I put myself to a disadvantage if surely everyone else - well, obviously not all - are using it the same or a similar way. Binding the trimwheel to keyboard buttons is probably not the best idea as I´m sure you just can´t hit them 100% accurate in the heat of the battle and you´d need to take a glance at the keys. While in the real plane you´d just know where your trimwheel is and just reach back and operate it - the same as it is with HOTAS controls. Well, and the thing which you are criticising .. you know - to turn an axis and wait for the trim to get there - it´s already possible in the P-51 And even if I´d like to bind the trim to an extra set of trimwheels in the 109 I couldn´t do it in any useful way.

lol .. I really don´t see the difference - I already can trim and fly and use my throttle - all at the same time. All people are asking for is a better implementation for an axis. e.g. I´ve mapped the stabilizer to my castle switch because the current axis implemantation is - at least for me - just useless. So I go into a dive and when pulling out or a bit before I simultanously start trimming with the castle switch while I´m pulling the stick back. During all this time I can operate my throttle as needed while I don´t have to get my hand off the trim"wheel"

I´d love to see a Zero in DCS with some fitting scenario and oponents.

I think you need at least about ~50% on your RPM level or else it will not work. At least this is the case for me - also the left flap isn´t going to operate if you don´t have enough power.

How to only use the center smoke pod in the L-39
golani79 replied to piXel496's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros

Can anyone here push me in the right direction? So far I´ve done my skins with DCS running in the background and switching back and forth. But I wanna try the model viewer now. I´ve downloaded and installed it. I´m opening the corresponding .edm file from Bazar\World\Shapes - but it seems that I can´t get the model viewer to show me the textures. Wether I mount a directory or a ZIP file doesn´t matter. I´ve also tried to copy the textures / the ZIP into the temp textures folder of the model viewer (textures as .bmp 24bit). Any suggestions for me?

You have to duck - there´s a valve under the main center panel. If turned fully to the left they are automated - you can however still adjust them manually. LAlt+A --> open them LCtrl+A --> close them

You´ve probably got better FPS with 1.5 as the performance has increased. And with more FPS different things in games can be much easier than with lower FPS.
-
Ah, that could explain it - thanks for the information xxJohnxx

Yes, Erich also mentioned it in the video interview.

Just tried it out - could launch a few missiles but had no luck. I found it a bit strange though that I´ve got locks when the enemy plane was at positions where I thought it impossible to get a lock (somewhere near my 3 / 9 o'clock) and I didn´t get locks where I thought I should get one (pretty much on his six). But then I´m a noob when it comes to missiles and stuff (mostly I´ve got experience in WWII and Korea planes when it comes to air combat :D )
-
Haven´t said otherwise and I certainly haven´t said anything about server settings now have I? Just asked if you already thought it too simple now and gave my personal impression - nothing more, nothing less.
-
Do you think it´s overly simple now? Personally I don´t have this impression - is it easier in specific situations to spot enemy aircraft now? Yes I think so. But I dont think it´s overyl simple or like having "magical eyes" now where you are able to spot every contact in an instant.

Hehe .. maybe I was subconsciously inspired by the Star Trek movies which I´ve watched recently :D

Cockpit windows reflection map bug ?
golani79 replied to tob.s's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Yes, same here. Also I think the windscreens are way too dirty now. -
Site is working for me - just tried it out.
