My first impression, although I find it still a bit "rough" in the transition from one level to another (depending on the distance), is pretty good. Definitely a step in the right direction with room for refinements.

Had a black screen on connecting with multiple other servers too - most of the time it just took a while for the loading screen to turn up. So could be worth waiting a bit.

I normally don´t use Max but I think this should do the trick. Select your image plane -> right click -> object properties -> freeze

Well, you can´t use the educational version if you are planning to do commercial work.
