I have friends that has completely uninstalled DCS to be on the safe side until the warning issues has been resolved. To be fair, It was not only Heatblur products but also warnings from another 3rd party. Im 100% sure that there are nothing malicious going on, but there are other players who takes the warnings very seriously these days. It really needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

Here is a small sound mod I created to replace and "beef up" the F-5E cannon sounds. Check it out https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3339370/

Maybe it is the only way forward nowdays, but I think the longer update cycles is a mistake. It seems like a large part of the community is running on salty fumes since a while back. And while a few Pre-Order delays and the RB situation contributes, the biggest factor, in my opinion, is the longer patch cycles. Early Access content needs to move at certain pace to keep players happy and it's not good that we're running at 6 weeks+ between updates. They get frustrated or bored by waiting. And when the update finally arrives, their most anticipated feature did not make it in time. So then another six weeks of frustration begins. It is a dilemma how to deliver both stability and pace, but I think it's worth figuring out. Anyways, I hope that this next update turns out great when it arrives.

I think it’s a mistake having the option to force full alignment in ME. That should be up to the pilot. Without that option, you could include ALCM into the Auto-Start process. It’s not enjoyable nor a good investment of playtime sitting through a full alignment for a short flight.

No DAFCS, NVG's, HUD, MWS or Autopilot... Those things should really be in the product on Day 1. Ideally with an improved transport & logistics system so there is some kind of gameplay available for it. I might be wrong, but this seems like a very rushed (bare minimum) EA release.

This is very likely a bug based on other DCS modules. I don't think I have ever seen a module with radar ranging guns working correctly "out of the box". They all undershoot. Aim for the canopy and if you are lucky - hit the tail.

RAZBAM Situation Post Archive (will be deleted)
Schmidtfire replied to Rhinozherous's topic in RAZBAM
They are not Gallinette. Look at his work on the M2000C overhaul and the F-15E radar. Developing modules is a team effort, but he elevated the Razbam products to the absolute top level as far as fidelity and ingenuity goes. Always ready to go above and beyond. No one is irreplaceable, but there is no denying how important he has been the last few years . From what I understand (not 100% verified), RB will not develop any more modules, except maybe finish/support their current lineup. Long term it does not sound promising at all, so even if the situation is resolved and development resumed... It's not ideal situation for continued support over a longer period of time. -

It does not matter how complete it is at release. Without ongoing updates and support even a fully completed module will over time turn into a digital paperweight. DCS World is always moving forward. For modules it means that new bugs are constantly introduced and artwork eventually needs updating. Development of a module never truly stops.- 7012 replies

RAZBAM Situation Post Archive (will be deleted)
Schmidtfire replied to Rhinozherous's topic in RAZBAM
This should have been resolved the first weekend. Now it’s two months later.. What is still being discussed? Seems like a complete deadlock without any solution in sight. I have spent hundreds of dollars on Razbam modules. The latest one still deep in EA. It does affect my willingness (at the moment) to buy other DCS World products or recommend others to do so. The whole 3rd party model as such is being tested. Many cool modules and maps waiting on the horizon. Just hoping that this current situation won’t spoil all of that. -
The question is if Polychop would consider adding a very tiny bit of movement to the AI hover. More in line with the Cockpit Shake found in Special Options tab. It's a small effect rather than a complex movement that will mess up your targeting. It should not affect the reliability of AI auto-hover, just making it less artificial. Would be great to see it as an option.

AGM-45 Shrike Quick Guide by Klarsnow - updated June 5th 2024
Schmidtfire replied to HB_Painter's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Top priority should really be to fully implement WRCS AGM-45 since it’s the ”preferred” way of employing the Shike. Good to get the different seekers sorted, but we also need the ability to employ the missile properly. -
Increase HUD font size and brightness??
Schmidtfire replied to bop1701's topic in F-15C for DCS World
The HUD is too dim. It's not a RL feature, but an issue introduced with more modern lighting in DCS World. It used to be much more readable. @bop1701 - If you know how to edit .dds files. It's relatively easy to edit the HUD glass texture darker. Not 100% realistic, but It will make the font a little bit easier to read at max brightness. Im thinking about posting my texture mod on user files for download as many users seems experience the same issue. -
Is Syria the best looking and most diverse map?
Schmidtfire replied to maverick90's topic in DCS: Syria Map
Normandy map is hands down the best looking map and has the most detailed mesh (slopes etc). It's almost like a different sim. The sensation of speed (flying down low) is different from any other map in DCS. Even scary at times. Syria is a distant second in terms of visuals to Normandy, but still pretty good and one of the best addon maps. -
Has this Web Editor been released?

South Atlantic and Kola map credits some of the same development people. So that might count for the similarities between the two maps. Specter - Technical Lead & Technical artist & 2D/3D Artist Ripper - Developer & Vector Data Specialist It's available in DCS World\Mods\terrains\Kola\credits.txt

Any update on Supercarrier being updated
Schmidtfire replied to Tomcat388th's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Developing and releasing the planned features should be top priority. This module was released 4 years ago. From Eagle Dynamics store page During the early access period, the following additional features will be added: Air Boss station. Briefing room. Occupy the Landing Signal Officer (LSO) station with PLAT camera, including VR support. More LSO station interactions. Combined Arms integration. "Burble" effect. Wave off and bolter return to pattern radio messages. Functional barricade net. After those items are completed, maybe we can talk about extras, beyond planned features. -
Using the wrong tree types alters the entire look and realism of a northern map. The solution (in my opinion) is to create conifiers with a size/shape/look that can create a dense forest feel, even if it would mean a slight unrealistic look when viewed as a single tree. And then use the more realistic speedtrees for individual tree or small patches of trees around towns, airbases etc.

I will wait. Seems like very Early Access. High price but not even the right types of trees or winter textures? It's a cool area, so hopefully Orbx will turn this into the map it deserves to be

Request - Engine pylons available by default
Schmidtfire replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in Shenyang J-11A
Got it, It's for accessibility/gameplay Not everyone can afford the JF-17 so this makes the much cheaper J-11 a bit more competitive with the PL-12. Sounds reasonable. -
Request - Engine pylons available by default
Schmidtfire replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in Shenyang J-11A
The new pylons is closely associated with the missile mod used on GS server. So it's only natural to discuss the benefit of the J11 with PL-12 missiles as it's was the driving factor behind the new pylons. ...and if it's realistic, why won't Deka implement the missile aswell? -
Request - Engine pylons available by default
Schmidtfire replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in Shenyang J-11A
What I like to know is if you even get a proper loft profile with J-11? With JF-17 you can pitch the aircraft and initiate a loft profile for SD-10. -
JF-17E Strike Thunder?

There is no way Im pre-ordering until I know what's happening to 5 (!) of my current DLC purchases, the F-4E Winter pre-order that keeps slipping, and especially not without a comprehensive Ch-47F feature list or information about a new DCS logistics system. Im sure it will end up a good module, but Im not ready to expand the circus until things settles down a bit Hopefully all of this will be resolved before the Ch-47F pre-purchase ends.

RAZBAM Situation Post Archive (will be deleted)
Schmidtfire replied to Rhinozherous's topic in RAZBAM
It might. On the other hand, It seems like most of Razbam team has called it quits. So even IF they eventually come to terms, it will be a miracle if we see any type of updates anytime soon. I have stopped flying the F-15E until I hear that there is a plan in place, I have no interest in investing my time into a module that has no development or support. -
This brochure specifically mentions targets on the ground or sea surface. WMD-7 is the Chinese successor to their FILAT pod (FILAT is the Chinese equivalent of the LANTIRN) . Carried by attack aircraft such as Q-5 and JH-7. From what I understand WMD-7 or FILAT is not carried by fighters, therefore maybe no need for A/A capability? Aselpod is a different pod, developed and manufactured in Turkey. So what It can't and can't do is not relevant to the WMD-7. @uboats or Deka can probably elaborate more. But I think it is correct with no A/A mode, unless Deka decides to add the Aselpod as an option Aselpod most likely has somewhat different functionality, menu items and a different display elements compared to to WMD-7, so would be a bit of work to get it into the sim correctly.
