  1. Couldn't agree more. Gloves are definitely the way to go. In the mean time, I'll take whatever works. Re StarVR: the irony there is that - at least for flight sims - I've found the limited FOV to be a good facsimile of wearing a helmet! I'm not saying that extra FOV in general isn't a great thing though... If you have the horsepower.
  2. The activation stuff sounds like a firewall or AV issue. My guess, anyway.
  3. This got me thinking about the controller use with DCS, which I had all-too-readily written off. The simple thing that I had forgotten, is that I am still able to use the mouse fairly easily with my DK2, without being able to see it. Having wands floating in the cockpit could be a lot more intuitive than I had first thought (especially if they are made semi-transparent when not in active use, or something to that effect, to minimise the immersion impact). I'm really glad they're looking at integrating the controllers too. Vive cant come soon enough for me.

  5. Although he was honest about his approach, which should be commended, his approach was terribly flawed. It's a little alarming that you can't see that. The analogy was fine, too.
  6. DC DC is seriously overdue. Owing to the lack of replay-ability in canned missions; playing them more than once or twice significantly depreciates their value. There's a reason beyond the many great mods made for F4 that it survives to this day. Nothing compares to a DC. So many things in the list will come in due course, but a DC is, and always has been, overdue in DCS.
  7. It's RAM. If 2 rolls around and you need more, grab more. It sounds like everything is humming along nicely now, so there's little point to speculating.
  8. Do you have a moment for me to talk to you about our saviour, AWS?
  9. Firewall :poster_oops:
  10. which log was that? Is this a known issue, or are there, like, 5 of us having this problem?
  11. Having the same problem. Would be ok if I had one or two modules unlocked, but it's my first time I'm using it.
  12. Congratulations to everyone at ED. Can't wait to start flying again after such a long hiatus.
  13. Don't call me Shirley.
  14. I was thinking the same thing, but then i got to thinking that if they were the same bugs, they would never have given a timeframe for September. Surely?
  15. Same. Word 'round the campfire is that they are using 0.7 runtime, but there are a few issues with it, and that their focus is actually on CV1. Can't recall where I saw that, but I think it was buried deep in one of the threads.
  16. Much the same, only I've never had the chance. AMD. So pumped for 1.5
  17. You'd have to argue that it's only really a contender if it's PC compatible, surely? Which is as likely as me getting a Vive next week.
  18. They don't call it the Eternally Delayed Gratification Experiment for nothing :D
  19. Next Sunday
  20. AMD GPUs don't work in combination with the DK2 in the current DCS engine, but should be ok when EDGE is released.
  21. You and I, both! But I'd say it's highly likely!
  22. All I'm saying is that just because it is in alpha, it is not a foregone conclusion that anything mentioned regarding improvements/features/bugs need not be mentioned, since they may be things not yet assessed or considered by the team. Perfect time to bring some things up!
  23. I'm not sure all of his points can be written off by "pre-alpha"! :D
