  1. Oh darn, then I can't help you. I only fly oldschool ;) Anyone else? Could you please help a guy in trouble? If nothing else, maybe the volume is stored in some kinda lua-file...yeah, I'm reaching over here.
  2. Every aircraft should have an individual volume knob for it's radio. Same goes for the helicopters. Try looking for radio volume in your key-assignments under settings.
  3. You done good, man - you done good
  4. Maybe next christmas ;)
  5. Could it be possible to get around that by using Hola, for Google Chrome? I live in Sweden and Tosh.O and The Late Show is blocked here...but with Hola, no problems :) @Shahdoh: Great video!
  6. So now there's two of us :)
  7. There's a lot different schools of thought out there. Normally, people begin with learning takeoffs and landings until they don't damage the aircraft anymore. Then they move on to using the weapons on ground targets and later on air-to-air combat. Then we have the nerds: They read up on everything and THEN perform the above and stay with that for the rest of their lives, never pushing the envelope. And finally, the whackos: Never read up on nothing, just set the controls and start practicing carrier landings! Yeah, I'm one of those. When I get a new aircraft I always start with carrier landings. It's the best way to learn piloting a new aircraft, how it behaves at low speed, how things like gears, flaps and airbrakes work and what not. After that, I go straight into a shooting war. Cause there's nothing like combat ;)
  8. Aha, good info  Let's see how cocky I am after they release the final version. I hope they get things together before summer at least. Until then I fly "Rise of Flight" and "Cliffs of Dover". They're good fun but not as good as DCS. The waiting...
  9. Yeah, old 1.2 - not flying DCS at all for the moment, waiting for the new release. But it's not like a landing on an aircraft carrier is all dependant on the brakes. If you just get the wheels down in a somewhat smooth fashion, you can deploy the chute immediatley and THEN brake. Piece of cake.
  10. Yup, full flaps on takeoff. And the brakes? Well, my tires didn't burst. BUT it could be on the account of the relatively slow landing. That chute probably saved my tires ;) But who knows really? Anyways, doing a carrier landing with the Mig-21 isn't impossible but the main thing to watch out for is the touchdown, it just HAS to be smooth or you'll damage the aircraft. The nosewheel is usually the first thing to break. Or rather, it doesn't really break but when you takeoff again you can't retract it. Here's another landing where I was smart enough to have the speed showing in external mode (latter half of the clip)
  11. Don't forget about the headwind, 10 m/s is a LOT and from a flank speed carrier. And I didn't refuel or rearm. Brakes? I had them at max before I even set the wheels down. That chute helps too.
  12. With 10m/s headwind and carrier att full speed. Hopefully, someone will get offended ;)
  13.
  14. Pretty good, a bit too grainy perhaps...or maybe not? Good work anyhow :)
  15. Good info!
  16. ^^
  17. Good enough for me!:pilotfly: (been an armchair pilot since the late 80s)

    M2000 vs Mig-21

^^ Well, it must mean something :) Also for example, I understand that the Sabre now is a bit smarter against the Mig-15 (previously it was just rape and plunder flying a Mig vs AI-Sabre).

    M2000 vs Mig-21

^^It will most likely spark controversy in MP, a lot of "experts" will have a lot of angry things to say about it and such :) I myself have never tried MP...but maybe with the Mirage I will. Just to get the "experts" angry ;)

    M2000 vs Mig-21

Hey, thanks :) But here's the truth: The AI-Mirage2000 is for the moment really stupid. Yes, I got beaten up badly at first...but once I figured out it's moves, well then I could whip it with a rusty old Sabre. In fact, I believe it's easier to go guns-only with a Sabre or Mig-15 against the AI-Mirage2000, considering the Mig-21 is just an engine with fins on ;) I really hope they get the AI for the Mirage2000 sorted (I haven't installed 1.5 so I know nothing right now). And also, this guns-only fighting is quite probably very rare in real life. A fully equipped Mirage2000 would probably be something to run away from ASAP. And I will buy the Mirage, that's non-negotiable :pilotfly: EDIT: Right after the Mig-21 fight I thought I was really really good, but as I explored the AI further... Here's Sabre vs retarded AI
  21. Nice atmosphere :)
  22. ^^ I'll pay good dollars for it but I can't decide between "Depression's Drab" or the "Adidas Tracksuit"
  23. ^^Could it be some kinda 20mm Oerlikon or something like that? :)
  24. Silly pretty
  25. I'm both sorry AND delighted to hear this. Sorry because you have a hard time, delighted because killing Sabres is too easy in pre-DCS1.5. Me, I'm not installing 1.5, I'm waiting for DCS2.0. Once it's made available I will do a full reinstall of my rig with Win10 AND a new GPU...and then DCS2.0 :) I hope somebody else with 1.5 installed can shed some light on this. For me, it's still good news as the previous balance was far from OK. The Mig-15 was just overly superior no matter what people say. See for yourself. This was too easy This was too hard
