  1. There's always the VietCong 23mm flak. Can be mounted on trucks as well, makes small poof poof clouds. Oh and the Shilka :)
  2. Huey mission: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301593/ Mi-8 mission: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301592/ Sample
  3. About splash damage to infantry...
  4. I'd pay top dollar for a zombie pack. And no, I'm not joking.
  5. VSYNC on - makes it rock steady at 60 fps for me. No other toolz needed.
  6. Would make a hell of a difference.
  7. If he does, I'll pay good money for it. If he doesn't, I will understand.
  8. I'd be happy to have infantry with unlimited ammo. I mean three or four magazines of ammo is just silly.
  9. A bit of luck involved there, just a bit. The judging thing - I suppose trying VR could help for peripheral vision. But I don't trust those goggles, I suspect them to be some kind of CIA brainwashing project ;)
  10. For the record: I fly the Spit like crap with pedals (got a new pair just by curiosity). With twist grip - no problems whatsoever. I make ace landings and takeoffs, I mean people almost get angry at me when they watch my stuff :) Bottom line: It's all about what you're used to. This vid is with twist grip - and I can assure you I would never be able to pull this off with pedals (at my present sub-standard pedal skill level)
  11. Alright, might give it a try
  12. I'm amazed! Big thanks to the devs
  13. Interesting. Good info :)
  14. Amen!
  15. I'm afraid I'll be doing that as well. Or you know what? NO, I'll just do something else and wait until proper 2.5 is released. Frankly speaking, I've had it with all these alpha/betas or whatever the hell they like to call their test-environment. They need to learn a thing or two from the Sturmovik guys, about how you relase updates. So yeah, on pure principle - I'm not doing a damn thing until proper 2.5 is released. [RANT OVER]
  16. Afghanistan could mean so much for DCS. For both ground-pounding and chopper missions. Oh and for Soviet-era AND "modern"-era missions as well. So yeah, there's LOADS of stuff to do if we get a map like that :)
  17. Opinions, a lot of opinions. Well, I for one don't have any. I keep all options open. Maybe I'll get interested when I see other pilots fool around with this bird on youtube. Or maybe not. "Wait and see" is usually a good strategy. Saves a lot of time, energy and aggravation.

    Yak-52B?

There's only a very few select airplanes that can match the feel outside of DCS. Same goes for choppers...well, they really don't but they're close. And that's why I fly DCS - it's simply the best.
  19. Good solid info there. BIG thanks, mate :) And oh... "Also, the AV-8B release today is for the Open Beta version of DCS World." That's NOT the regular stable version, it's the testing version right? Well, I can wait - I pulled my own leg on this one
  20. I've payed mine, even got a mail confirming it. But no Serial code letter sent to me... Anyone else?

  22. Aw heck man, I tried the Tako mod yesterday in Vegas and it worked over there, both "GI White Boy" and "GI Soulbrother" showing up. It might be that old DCS has changed the texture's file paths. Again ;)
  23. Bit of a cheatish suggestion is to have a FAC-team in your mission. It doesn't even have to exist in the mission editor, you can just trigger some red smoke markers over the target area once you approach it. Or if it's a night job, perhaps illumination bombs every now and then. Also, having an active enemy with APCs help. Them green tracers they fire (BTR-80) are usually quite helpful for locating. Just don't fly into them ;)
  24. Thank you all for this thread! I just tried it in Normandy and I was thinking "This is WAY too easy to land on a carrier...do I dare to ask what the hell is going on?" :)
