  1. This is a VERY long movie but in the beginning you can see that taking off is not a particular problem (but it took me several days to learn it though...a long time ago). And trying some low speed maneuvering is not a problem either. So there's nothing wrong with my flight model, it handles as it's always been handling. What it all comes down to is (just like somebody already mentioned), to learn HANDLING. At low speeds. For this particular flight, I don't bother with any trim or RPM-fiddling. You can fly for hours on end at full RPM as long as you manage throttle/watch the engine gauges and thus don't totally over-abuse it. To conclude: I'd be the last person to claim I know the Mustang systems and what's "right", "by the book" etc but I DO know how it handles.
  2. Hey I think I used that code for the Mustang. Made the AI Mustangs land using the wires AND they catpulted off the ship as well. But for me, I couldn't get any of that to work. I had to do things the hard way :joystick:
  3. Nope, no lua-editing on my part. You think that would do the trick?
  4. I'll do it! But as you mention...not made for carrier traps. And last time I tried it didn't catch the wires. But this new thing might be different :) UPDATE! I didn't work :(
  5. Ah man, I have had to many beers. I don't get nothing anymore. Time to sleep ;)
  6. LOL - you sure about that? Like doing two things separately opposed to doing them together...that don't mean nothing in regards to the uptime. I mean it shouldn't really matter. Or maybe I'm dumb or sumtin? I've had a few beers by now :)
  7. Good one, mr Jumbik-man! Now as it is, this here Normandy map is rollin' in. I'd wager I can split the command to install the second package afterwards. Like this? DCS_updater.exe install WWII-ARMOUR
  8. AH MAN...JEEEEESUS...I MEAN...MAAAAAN I checked the logfile in my saved games folder, it said something about not being able to load the Bell47 (a MOD!!!). So I removed the Bell47 from the mods/aircraft folder. And I got in! Will keep updating, this gonna be a looong night :) ---------------------UPDATE------------------------------------- No Normandy map available under DLC. But maybe later ;) --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------UPDATE 2--------------------------- Sent to me from rge75 There are threads about it ;-) Either refresh the list or use the cmd line dcs_updater.exe install NORMANDY_terrain in the DCS bin folder (run as administrator) IT WORKS!!! IT'S INSTALLING RIGHT NOW! --------------------------------------------------------------
  9. I couldn't get it running, got some error messages about msvcp140.dll missing. Googled and found out I had to install a Microsoft redistributable. Installed that and tried again - the DCS process fired up but then died down again. Ran the DXSETUP.exe and it installed some files - tried again...no luck :( WILL EXPLORE FURTHER! ----------------------------UPDATE----------------------- Went for running DCS_updater.exe as admin - didn't make any difference. Tried running it with Microsoft compatible settings - got told that DCS_updater.exe was incompatible. NOTE: You might wanna DISREGARD this, I don't take MS troubleshooting too seriously. ---------------------END OF UPDATE---------------------
  10. 1. Open CMD and navigate to your bin folder (as admin) 2. run this command: DCS_updater.exe update
  11. You gotta keep doing that clicking, man! A total disregard for your own mental health will see you through  CLICK!!!
  12. I kept clicking on my update file like crazy, I believe I lost count after 70 times or so. But now it's updating! :)
  13. Probably tonite, after 1600hrs GMT or something like that.
  14. I read somewhere it's been cancelled due to low interest and weak marketing.
  15. Me, I'm all for civilians, policemen, firemen...and perhaps zombies :) Would really open up for a more diverse World. Oh and I'd pay good money for them.
  16. This ^^ is KEY. Learn it and you can land on aircraft carriers. Or in the streets ;)
  17. LOL, you saw that?! :megalol:
  18. And it WORKS! Perfect! Awesome! I mean it, man - WELL DONE :)
  19. "Fixed twist-stick rudder issue" NICE, I don't wanna use pedals :)
  20. When taking off, go full burner and pull back a little. It will keep the damn nosewheel from messing things up for you. See how I did.
  21. So day textures and night textures huh? Well well, who knows? ;)
  22. Good question! I'd really like to know that myself. It would be quite awesome in some night missions with totally dark towns: Imagine looking for survivors after/during a zombie outbreak. They can only signal so much, fearing to attract the undead/infected :)
  23. I heard it's been delayed.
  24. The AI needs an overhaul, no doubt about that.
  25. I flew the Ka-50 for the first time yesterday and I have a MSFFB2 too. Getting the autohover to work is basically impossible. Will try to turn off the FFB, it helped when I had trouble with the Gazelle (but as of today, the Gazelle works just fine with FFB).
