  1. Just wondering. I have a Mamba and when I got it a long time back I had some difficulty getting VKBDevConfig-C to work. Eventaully I suceeded, but after a while as I upgraded to newer versions of the software I could not get it to work after 0.77.2.0, either I could not get the firmware to load or I could not get VKBConfig to work. Resigned myself to just using 0.77.2.0 and all was fine. Now after a long wait I got my hands on a MCG and had to upgrade the firmware and software. The versions recommended of firmware and software just would not work. After some help on the VKB forum I got different versions of VKBConfig and firmware recommended and eventually got the fimware installed. Then VKBConfig worked, then it didn't, then it did for around a day now it doesn't at all. So I just wondered out of idle curiosity if it's just me or do others find the software buggy? I like the program and think it's great once the basics are mastered, but the fact that it throws up error after error and doesn't work for me most of the time is serious PIA. That said I've now gone to programming it with Joystick Gremlin after putting a basic profile into the stick and it's all is good. I really like VKB and their products but the software is just about a no go zone for me I just wondered if others ever encountered problems or is it rock solid for everybody else?
  2. Thank You BuzyBee :smartass: The co-ordinate display is great & looking forward to a Wikki I also need tofind out more about adding options Tacview is great I just hate missing out on all those cool featurs that I know are hiding in there somwhere :smilewink: Oh I meant to add if you ever do a driver for Funky Frankie's Space Navigator I have one too and would love a copy
  3. I'm not sure about hot swapping the grips, if not running TARGET it might or might not, it depends if Windows sees the new grip as a different device, that should be easy enough to check in Windows Control Panel. If Windows doesn't the new stick will have the same profile as the old one which will probably mess up the switch binds on the new stick Like VpR81 I use TARGET as well, but the Script Editor which is much more powerful than the GUI but there is a little bit (but not so much) of a learning curve to get going with it. With TARGET you can do more with the profiles than just using the DCS stand alone menu. It assigns commands to keybinds or Dx as you prefer (the GUI only Keybinds I think), you can have long and short press commands, or the same button do different things when in different configuarations (example, Autopilot disengage on the paddle when the gear is up and nosewheel steering when it's down etc) and just too much here to list. I beleive Joystick Gremlin is the same or better but I've not got around to learning it. I must at some point as it's big advantage is that it doesn't lock you into TM TARGET is sorta Marmite, a lot on hear hate it with a passion and tell you it's the seed of Satan, but I'm a fan. Lots of threads and members in here who would be only too willing to help, if you want to get going with the Script Editor and TM's Script Editor Basics Manual is pretty well written
  4. Is there a way to either get rid of the time box in the top left or changing it to display map co-ordinates? Aplolgies if this is an obvious question and I've just missed it. It would be great if there was a manual to explain all the features as I find myself at a bit of a loss with trying to understand all the features
  5. Fercyful Have you added the Map Marker command to your Vaicom profile? See page 36/37 of the Vaicom manual https://www.vaicompro.com/uploads/7/5/4/3/75436709/vaicom_pro_user_manual.pdf Just a thought
  6. As stated they are under C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input"module name" The next set of folders are self explanatory eg: joystick, keyboard, mouse etc: joystick contains the USB devices for HOTAS Usually after a Windows reinstall dear old windows will assign new addresses to all the ports and screw the pooch for you. First I'd copy my profiles to a safe place, then do a DCS install, once that is done I'd check the new addresses that have been assigned to your hardware. Then you can change your old config files to the new addresses assigned in the above folders. Finally copy over the readdressed "old configs" to the C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input"module name"\joystick folder replacing the standard confiigs DCS has generated and you should be good
  7. A101Wayz Fantastic I've got it working, I still don't know what I downloaded first time a whole lot of Moose files and folders, I wonder if it's a dvelopment pack I had gotten. I got it off the Moose site Anyway, I used the link on the fiirst post and BAM!!! I've got 5 A-380s getting ready. Many Thanks, this (for me)was part of the problem there seems to be different versions (not revisions) and I'm still mightly confused about the whole thing One more thing was on the Moose videos, Flight Control talks about the lua code (remember I'm pretty new to this) but doesn't tell you that all you need is an editor and to make a separate file, save these lines of code to it then enable it via a trigger for the RAT to work Funky Franky put me wise to that, it's great what a resource As to the pictures that's strange they are not showing up, I can see them fine and I've never had problems before. Either way many many thanks for the assistance
  8. Totally new to all this and going through the tutorials slowly I posted this up on the RAT thread, but perhaps it's more appropriate here as I'm not getting Moose to load, without an error However I downloaded Moose but setting up Moose in the Triggers before doing anything generates an error when I run the Mission Obviously a clutz but can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong

    JASDF Liveries

I wonder why they did that. I'm good with it either way
  11. As usual you guys were right I had switched it on when I was trying to get a refueller in a mission to stay on station for a long time and forgot about it It would also explain why the refueller hooks up and then about a second later tells me transfer complete. I thought that would have been overidden if you set a low quantity in the mission editor, obviously not Turned off now Thank you for the help, what am I like!!!!!!
  12. I watched "Mover's" Video on his opinion of the module whiich seemed pretty positive. One comment piqued my interest though, as I'm trying to learn how to refuel the Viper He said he'd normally bring up the Bingo page, now at first I thought this would be an MFD page but haven't found one yet (No I have not read the manual fully, I'm a man for goodness sake, try it first then read the manual) Anyway I found Bingo can be set on the DED. So the question is - The Bingo page not only tells you the Bingo setting but also total fuel quantity, however in my jet the total fuel quantity value is static. I assume it's only refreshed when I bring up the page. I'm ASS-uming in the real jet though it's a dynamic value, as that would make a lot of sense for Mover to want it, so as he could watch his fuel quantity increase without having to look down all the time at the gauges I have a hard enough time connecting let alone stay on station & then look at the gauge too. If this is the case it would be niice if it was implemented Thoughts anybody?
  13. Yup either of the above 2 suggestions will work. First I'd always recommend making a backup of the saved games DCS folder somewhere else, if I lost mine it would take me months to renew all the settings Your problem is going to be if the hardware addresses for the devices get new addresses from Windows (cannot remember the correct terminology) For each device in each module there will be an address it's the alphanumeric inside the curly brackets. That will require to be changed to the new address Windows gives that device. You can find the new address by going into DCS and looking at the new defaults that DCS has assigned to your devices. The same will hold true for the keyboard if you have changed or added to that too Bit of a faff but a dammed site faster than having to make new profiles for each device for every module Hope the picture makes sense

Great stuff Akatsuki Simply cannot get enough of the Japanese liveries Looking forward to them...........whenever that may be
  15. Yeah just watched it You got it down, which is better than I've achieved, but it did look like it was decidely touch and go. The aircraft didn't seem as side on as I felt like I was getting when trying it in a crosswind with half the velocity. I was landing at Vaziani, wonder if the altitude makes a difference and the 10 knot crosswind was more or less at 90 degrees to the runway heading. Thanks for the advice, it's appreciated, I'll definately give it a try and report back
  16. Ok I obviouslly need more practice as well then I had a 10knot component and was kicking straight just before main wheels touched Touched down then it all started to go 'orrdily wrong
  17. Thanks guys awful as I am I feel a bit better Just need to wait on a fix in due course I guess No complaints still loving the module
  18. Just wondered if it's just my awfull flying skills or is the Viper harder to land in crosswind situations than other jets? I can get it down but then once on the runway it tends to flip over I'm talking about 8-10 Knot Crosswind Going to try the Hornet and see if it's as susceptable, but must have had around 6 attempts so far with much the same result every time............it always ends badly If it is just me, then any tips or videos showing "how to" would be very welcome
  19. Thanks A101Wayz Yeah it works when using the local machine as a client server but not on the dedicated server, at least now I know it's not me The runway lighting at least works on the PG map yet to try Nevada
  20. Thanks for the replies The reason for asking was because it's an odball, this is using the DCS Web server, which is loaded to another machine I've tried this mission on my local machine, running it as a server and the lights are turned on and all is good On both machines I contact the tower and get permissions Copy the mission over to the web server and run it repeating exactly the same actions then the runway lights do not come on. So there is something amiss. It's not the mission as it works fine on my local machine It's something to do with the web server that prevents the lights from going on
  21. Almost complete beginnner to the ME, so be gentle please I was trying to get runway lights going at night in the Caucasus map. I read that it would not work unless an aircraft took off from that field. So I set a trigger zone and spawned an A-10 that would fly an orbit for an hour then return. In the meantime my own aircraft could land on the now lit runway. Worked fine when running the mission on my local machine, but when the same mission was transferred to my web server, it didn't and the runway remained dark. Second try was to enable a tanker or AWACs at mission start to do a similar thing. When transferred to the web server the tanker/AWACs could be seen departing but the runway remained dark. Am I just fighting gravity here or is there a way to switch on the lights in a server based mission? If the Caucaus is a No No & can't be done does anybody know if the lighting works on one of the other maps. Bit frustrating that I cannot make simple missions to fly at night and/or bad weather and get the airport to turn on its lights :helpsmilie:
  22. Were you on a server, in multiplayer? Although you can have Easy Comms Not ticked in Options the server can overide the settings Missions can also be set to have easy comms on and that will overide the settings in Gameplay Also when Vaicom starts it reports Easy Comms ON until it detects the actual specific mission you're in If I understand it correctly the Easy Comms Option disabled just disables it by default that's all, it can be overidden
  23. Thanks Ant0ine I'll download it and give it a try
  24. Heh DeadMeat Is that a gear handle in the video where you demonstrate the stick buttons? It looks pretty slick any details and a low down on how you made it or where you got it from?
