The Debolestes tails are awesome, really make a huge difference to the comfort of holding the grip Another thing that few appreciate is the software. I've been using the TARGET GUI for a long time and although there are a lot of haters I think it's a terrific piece of software. IMHO there isn't much out there that can hold a candle to it for simplicity, power and ease of use Recently just started to explore scripting, Wow!!!! what you can do with scripts is a whole new ball game. That said it's pretty finiky and a PIA with all the syntax at first. The flexibility though is just amazing, just read the scripting guide and look at the examples and very quickly you'll appreciate just how flexible a package this is. TM sure have their drawbacks but for the cost and what you get I think it's a good entry level to the "HiFi" HOTAS market

Probably the pulse time is too short, it happens to me a lot So try instead of "Pulse" for the Type try using Press & Release combo "Press" LSHIFT+A "Release" LSHIFT+A In the Delay box on the "Release" command set the delay to 500 if that doesn't work take it up to 1000 and try it Both these commands should follow each other and the Press and Release have nothing to do with the boxes at the top for the physical switch. So you should have 2 sets of Press & Release types one for the phsyical switch Press (the boxes) and one for the Release, I hope that makes sense

Head / Cockpit shake level adjustment option
Weegie replied to Hummingbird's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
At first I hated the shaking and vibration, but as I got some time in, I came to like it and now think it's a great feature I certainly wouldn't say, don't have a slider. If some want it and it's an easy implement why not, I'm all for having choice. The purests can have it dialled up and those learning (or those who just don't like it) dialled down -
Is the F-14B Harder to A2A Refuel or is it just me?
Weegie replied to Weegie's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yeah VR is in my future, just waiting for all the market offerings to be fully reviewed and all the hardware available I discovered a BIG stupid fat error, had the tanker going around 300 KIAS, dropped that to 240 and bingo a lot more controllable Also found that at the slower airspeed you use more throttle so it's easier to micro manage the airspeed and approach the basket slowly Thanks for all the replies -
Warning to All!!! F-18 warthog flight stick
Weegie replied to Jason S's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Jason Couple of things, having renovated old motorcycles, stuck fasteners & frozen threads are nothing new to me, but still a hassle First it always helps to lube threads with a smear of grease to prevent them freezing, especially coarse ones like the locking wheel used in the hog. The neck snapping is not an unknown problem, it was reported a lot by people using the Hog with Real Simulator's force stick base. It's not surprising looking at the neck it looks cast and in a pretty crappy metal. Debolestis has replacements available in whatever material you choose to get, bit pricier for what they are but far stronger and also with angled necks should you choose, the angle makes a big difference to the comfort factor IMHO. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160114 Hope that helps and thank you for posting up the warning -
Is the F-14B Harder to A2A Refuel or is it just me?
Weegie replied to Weegie's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yup in bomb mode & getting better thanks for the replies Maybe I'm either a) Useless b) Need more practice -
Doing the Air 2 Air thang with the C-130 I find it's more difficult to plug in generally, far from an easy module to refuel with. However as if that's not hard enough there are times I'm slowly placing the probe down the basket's throat & yet the probe just goes straight through. It's almost as if the window to get an engagment is narrower than other modules (thinking about the Hornet as an example) I also think the Tomcat appears to unplug easier than any other module I've got. For instance if you fly too close to the Tanker or get back too far, just my perception that unless you are around 90% on the money you are going to loose that basket. I know the other modules also unplug but the window again seems narrower Be interested to know what others think on this and any tips. Seen the videos and also fly the hose not the basket, I've refuelled many many times in just about everyting else but the Cat is giving me fits (I find the AV-8B easier). Connected and completed refuelling a few times but at the moment I'm just not comfortable with knowing that I'm going to get some gas as I approach, it's a bit hit and miss for me right now

DCS: F-14 - Brickdust's "Drunken Sailor" VR Friendly Cockpit
Weegie replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in DCS Modding
Yes you can install OVGME at any time & enable disable mods as long as DCS isn't running It's like JSGME but better, I'd go on but it's all been explained in the thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171956 -
Not directly concerned with the above but I moved over to a new computer & searched for speech folders in AppData on the old machine. Copied them all across to the new install & I didn't need to go through all the pain of speech training again

Yup It's like I was originally reporting, there is defo something wrong here with the horizon and mine is not fixed (well not the last time I checked) The difficulty is that with only some seeing this problem it makes it hard for ED to check it out It's annoying as I can no longer fly the Dora IFR My only hope is more do like you and anybody with it reports it I'm not holding my breath for a fix

I used a Boron Grease from Tamiya iniatally, it woorked great but was not long lasting The Nyogel IMHO is definately the solution to getting a stiction free and long lasting solution

How to move 'saved games' to a bigger disk!
Weegie replied to sc_neo's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thanks for that info Very useful I've been wanting to move mine for a while as the livereis take up a lot of SSD space -
To confirm Yes it is eminantly possible but you sort of found that out yourself  You just tick the boxes you want VA to use, you can assign all, none or somewhere in between (of course Vaicom does not recommend using the "When I say") Glad the post helped you to get a fix anyway While on the topic and just another method is you can duplicate Vaicom for each module. The downside is it is a Royal PIA if you need to update the Keywords as you need to do it for every module The Upside is that if you have a separate Profile that you use for something else, lets say to activate cockpit functions or manipulate the kneeboard, then you can piggyback that onto the back of Vaicom. However if you use many modules you won't want all the custom profiles piggybacked, only one, so you copy Vaicom and piggyback the specific module and then give it a unique name. Then when you fly a different module you just choose it from the VA drop down screen. So you have unique VA modules for each aircraft, within that you could easily alter the PTT commands too, so that the A-10 uses PTT Dx buttons and the others use Keyboard commands. This may make it a little clearer You see below I have multiple profiles of Vaicom and I have specific aircraft files separately. The specific aircraft files are the profiles that I made up for things I want VA to do and have nothing to do with Vaicom All the different Vaicom profiles do in my case is piggyback a different custom profile I've made up to work the radios, some cockpit functions and the kneeboard Here is the piggybacked profile (you access it in Vaicom using PTT #6)

I use a similar setup, I've noticed that with Win 7 TARGET was rock solid but a little flaky with Win 10 and takes an eternity to load. Sometimes it does not see my stick and I need to restart. Sometimes in DCS I get the single combined profile and the individual device profiles too. Anyway how about this for a work around, you are using TARGET GUI so it assigns everything via keystrokes. Assign your PTTs to keystrokes in Voice Attack under the PTT section Like so Here is Tx1 Press Tx1 Release Now use these same keysrokes in TARGET and assign them to your PTT, where when you press the button in Target, it presses that keystroke and on release, release Here is Tx6 mapped in TARGET For Press For Release Works for me

You need to have the "Allow Options" checkbox ticked in preferences You say "Options" and the menu pops up then you say "Take X" where X is the function key number you want to select. Personally I just made some commands in the profile that selects a series of the function number and gave them a name, so I did not have to go through 3 or so keypresses repeatedly I'm having an issue in Easy Comms, Multiplayer where neither the "Select" or calling on the correct frequency works like it should. The radio jumps to another frequency and I end up contacting the wrong airbase or tanker. So I made some commands and placed them into the Addtional Commands Section. When I'm Refuelling and tanker boy decides to take away his hose. I just say "Options" then "In the Saddle" (just what I thought would be an easy thing to say) that then presses F6,F1,F1 and I get the hose back. Works pretty good, although I'd still like to know why I jump frequencies, doesn't happen all the time but most of the time.

CptTangerine If you are runnning Win 7 getting Vaicom to recognize the aircraft can be a real problem. I tried and never got it to work. However after I moved to Win 10 somebody posted up about a fix for Win7 and it was a far from obvious problem related to the ports. I don't know who posted this and it has nothing to do with me, but I cannot find the fix HOWEVER I was not my usual butt stoopid self that day and copied the reply into a text file. It MIGHT just help, I've attached it in a zip Viacom No Aircraft Type on Radio Window Fix.zip

Thanks for the advice I'll give that a try. I am getting better with but I find it's making what was already a difficult manoevure, now close to impossible. I can establish contact occassioanally but staying there is beyond me as of now Must do better!!!! As for the AI my vote is not to implement it for them. They already do things we cannot, so what's one more really. DCS already takes a significantly powerful rig to run well, last thing I need is something else eating more processing power

Going to check again today, but since the update to the Beta yesterday The Hornet was really getting pitched around approaching a KC-135, and it wasn't just a little twitch this was like 45-60 degrees one way or the other. That was on Aerobatics On Line Caucasus. When approaching the hose it was less but still there to a degree making an already difficult manouver, for me, impossible on my last attempt. Going to test it in SP with the option enabled and disabled, then try again in Multiplayer. Interesting that some people/aircraft are not seeing it

Just tried to refuel the Hornet Massive fail could not understand why then it clicked Wake Turbulence. Even approaching I was getting tossed around like a toy This is going to take a little getting used to

+1 I'd love a Sea Fury & I believe there are a few still flying out there. So the flight model data wouldn't be impossible to get................but far from easy

Simply Amazing Thanks so much

Idiotically Simple VA profile for KneeBoard Caucasus
Weegie replied to Weegie's topic in DCS Modding
Now updated to Rev01 to add in a Synch command to stop having to page multiple pages before Synching the kneeboard to Voice Attack -
Europa Did you go in and change VAICOM to tell it where DCS is now residing Did you do a lua reset these are what I would have done if I had moved the install folder
