I've got a question on the Spitfire if anybody can explain I was messing about trying to get a button that would toggle the gun safety on the stick on/off It's a simple 1/0 TUMB so it sends a 1 then a -1 making the state 1 or 0. No matter what I tired with a toggle switch I could not get it to work. I could get it to change state to either Safe or Armed but not both. I got around this by using a rotary switch where it cycles by 1 each time with a max & min range of 1 and 0. However I'm still baffled why a toggle switch won't work, can anybody shed any light on why after all a rotary going between 1 and 0 is AFAIK just acting the same as a toggle switch

I could be wrong but I don't think Vaicom does that for single cockpit modules. Jester can do it in the F-14. You can make a profile and have it running in the background to Vaicom that can do this kindo of thing though pretty easily Perhaps try Bailey's free profiles? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242416 My profiles are not as sophisticated as his but do this sorta thing if you wanted to try, I made this for another person here for the Hornet but it gives you an idea Drop me a PM if you think it would help, I've also got a simialr profile for the Viper

I tried it last night, vast improvement IMHO I'd love the darker trees shown earlier in the thread if you still happened to have these available

keyboard file explained - value_down & value_up
Weegie replied to karpiyon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not sure but I'd reckon the value down is the Key pressed the value up is when the key is released For a switch the value up would probably be zero, for a button the mirror image of the value down. With a switch you want the value to change and stay changed, with a button you want the value to release the pressed button action. You may also find that switches which toggle an action have different values up and down. That's an "educated" guess though I'm pretty new to all of this and investigating myself, hopefully somebody with some real experteze will come along soon -
oldracoon and Lobinjaevel I noticed this the minute I plugged in the throttle and sent an enquiry to Winwing, they told me it was a "situation indicator" and everything was Ok I guess by that it's just a telltale to indicate the throttle is getting power via the USB. While on that subject I discovered at one point the StartUp panel wasn't being recognised, although I was still getting the red light. That turned out to be a faulty hub, to my great relief. So if something does awry, make sure to fully check all hubs cables and plugs before blaming the throttle or panel

Anybody have any joy with the Viggen I've been programming the Hornet and it's a breeze I can get nothing to work with the Viggen :helpsmilie:

Thanks so much for the response I'll certainly give it a go I noticed before the AMPCD was great and legible. I thought it might have been ED as I was running a Red display mod prior to yours and BOOM update arrived and it stopped working

Looks Great Suntsag Your mods are awesome thank you so much

Ctytler this is nothing short of amazing a fantastic tool Atelphobia There are probably a few if it outputs as Dx buttons that might fit the bill, RS Mapper, Joystick Gremlin. Personally because I have it and really like it I use Voice Attack. It would be able to map to keystrokes and is powerful enough to do a lot more than many realize. With VA you can assign up to 4 devices to use that will be recognized. However if you want to Dx map as opposed to keystrokes that's a different ball game entirely Just a thought

Well if you have trouble loading Bailey's profiles and need them edited down to 20 commands I could help you with that. I'm not sure if you can load a large profile with the trial version and edit it down or not. I can't help with the BlackShark as I rarely use the module and don't have a profile for it. I have some profiles of my own mainly for some of the jets, which cover comms, kneeboard, Tacan etc: but no weapons. Let me know, below is a video I made for another person on here, although Viacom is shown on the video its not being used and these are just some commands I incorporated into a profile to give you an idea. Bailey's will probably be a lot more sophisticated than mine. If I can help just drop me a PM or post up

Love the Mod, absolute must for me Couple of things the AMPCD titles are all but unreadable with the map on and is dim compared to the MFDs with the map off. Anyway either of these 2 problems could be addressed? Many thanks either way as it makes a huge difference to the Hornet pit

I hear you but there is nothing Hollywood can do about it, he already offers a limited trial version of Viacom to try, I don't think he can really be expected to do anymore. VA is what $10 it's hardly a king's ransom and IMHO for the cash without Viacom it's fantastic value. Not only can it be used for voice input, it can also be used for a Dx to keyboard input program. It's a really powerful little programming tool, I'm not programmer but I've got it doing stuff that I find really useful. Like tuning radios, selecting TACAN & ILS, pushing MFD buttons etc: Add Viacom it goes to another level again I'm not having a go but look at the price of ED and the other developers modules, your not offered these for a trial (Covid offer excepted). What you could possibly do is download some of the free VA standalone profiles offered by Bailey for example. Then try an edited version of them in the trial version of VA. If you like them and the whole voice commands thing, buy VA. If you don't then go no futher as Viacom uses the same method of processing. After that you could then try the trial version Viacom, sort of do it in 2 step process possibly Personally I love both these add ons, they can have glitches, but overall it's another level of immersion

Apologies if I misled you and wasted your time QuiGon. I do appreciate you taking the time to help me. Looks like I'll just need to live with the Radar guided SAMs for now Thanks for assisting me

Well its a normal server and is controlled by a web interface, I think DCS orginally called it a web server but have changed the name to "DCS World Open Beta Dedicated Server" I've attached the 2 files of tracks, one on the client i.e. running as SP on standalone then trying the same mission through the server. Many thanks for looking Tracks.zip

I'm just starting with the mission editor and trying to learn it. Not exactly finding it intuitive. I made a VERY simple mission for Multiplayer which has some FA-18s and they can overfly a couple of airbases protected by SAMs, Guns etc: Sukhumi has SA-13 Strela units (IR SAM) protecting the base and Gudauta ZU-23 gun emplacements, Sochi has SA-8 Osa (Radar Guided SAM). When I play this in SP it works fine but when I load it onto a WebServer the Strelas and ZU-23 just don't engage. The SA-8s work fine. I know that what works on SP and MP can be 2 different kettles of fish I wondered (blindly hoped) though if somebody with more experience knew of any workarounds or could perhaps tell me where I'm going wrong. There surely has to be a way to get IR missiles and flak working in MP. It's just I'm too stupid to figure it out I've attached the mission file Be very grateful for any pointers FA-18C Caucasus SAM Test #2.zip

I'm only getting into CMS at the moment Bailey and a big fave of my mine on YouTube is Growling Sidewinder. The first 2 are how to employ effective countermeasures in there he talks about release of up 8, I suppose you could set them as 2 with a very short repeat of 4 This last one refers to setting up the CMS programs, where you can set it up to 100 for Chaff and Flares dumping everything in one go should you desire. TBH though they are quite old so perhaps things have changed, as I'm just a noob at all this I don't really know. I'm just basing it on setting up the Horent's CMS programs myself last night when trying out a mission and it worked like in Growling Sidewinder's videos
-
Looks excellent Bailey Can I suggest though that the number of chaff and flares use a numeric box like the ones used for interval and repeat. Currently you can only select 2 flares or chaff and I like to release a lot more in one go

Went through all my old MiG-21 Skins and noticed that they all seem broken Probably something to do with the dynamic bort numbers Anyway the one skin I really liked for the MiG-21 was this one and was wondering if anybody could make it Here is the original skin, I had to put it on dropbox as it was too big for the forum limits https://www.dropbox.com/s/2jh7uz5vsl6yslo/MiG-21bis%20CzAF%20Splinter%20Camo%201991.zip?dl=0 Forgive me for not crediting the original skinner but I've lost his details but I am very grateful to him for making this skin

BuzyBee I seem to remember a long time back somebody asked for you to make a driver to support a Space Navigator to use with TacView. I don't think this was ever done, but thought I'd ask anyway as I have one and it never gets used. It would be great to use with TacView as it's a device for Navigating a 3D space.
-
I was searching for something to use with my Space Navigator not for DCS but possibly for Tacview and came across this It's offering at £20 right now but I have no idea of it's any good or not I just wondered had anybody messed with it and what was their opinion It's meant to be able to control joysticks as well as the SpaceNavigator, Voice Control etc: and some other stuff I wouldn't use I'd also be interested in the scripting and the macros If it lived up to the hype it might be worth consideration. 14 day free trial so I'll probably download it later and see if it's any good. TBH though right now all my commands are running through TARGET and Voice Attack and I'm perfectly happy with them https://www.tetherscript.com/controlmyjoystick/

I just thought I'd post up as I'm a TARGET fan boy. So when I got the Winwing throttle I was a little disappointed that the software supplied is virtually non-existant when it came to programming. I've tried Joystick Gremlin in the past but I don't like using UCR (formally UJR) as its given me problems in the past and RS Mapper although fitting the bill for some reason didn't seem to recognise all my keyboard keys. With VA I can run Vaicom, have voice control for commands and program in HOTAS buttons in my profile. I did find getting it to recognize my Joystick devices odd, when it's assigned, or when assigning a key on a HOTAS, I need to refresh the command to recognize the button, but after that it works a treat. I've also synchroized my TARGET shift and Modes with VA by getting TARGET to send VA a Dx button when a Mode or Shift is activated and use that as a conditional in Voice Attack to tell it the mode it's in. Really pleased with it so far it can activate DX buttons on press or release and supports Double Tap and Tempo. I'll try to make a video on it later, however bear in mind it's only a keyboard emulator it can't send Dx buttons, it can only recieve them All keyboard emualtors and especially TARGET, get a really bad press on here (forgive the pun) but I'm scripting with them and they've been fine. I just thought I'd post up in case anybody else was looking for a Keyboard emulator if you have VA it's worth giving it a try

Fantastic Hollywood Thank You so much, this will make my script a lot slicker Really appreciated

I'm hoping Hollywoood visits here ocassionally, I don't how easy or difficult it would be for him to implement this request What I'm looking for is an exposed variable for the current region (Nevada, Gulf, Caucasus etc) you are in. The reason for this is the kneeboard pages specifically and, less importantly, radio frequencies (as Vaicomm can implement the radio frequencies internally) The pages in the kneeboard change depending on the region your in and it would be nice if I could have an exposed variable in Viacomm to tell me which. That way I could alter the calls for specific kneeboard pages only available on specific regions At the moment I'm doing this via a "Master Reset" and asking for a User Input to state the region. It would be much slicker if I did it via an exposed variable and it just automatically picked the correct region
