  1. I don't know the mission, are you using the TGP and swapping steerpoints while the TGP is running and you're in CCRP AG mode? In the above scenario there is a bug that will move the next steerpoint to wherever the TGP is currently looking. Way around this is to use the bomb mode switch (nose wheel steering button) to swap to CCIP mode, Swap the steerpoint and then go back to CCRP and it should slave to the new point without altering the SP location.
  2. Surely you get better performance in complex missions though? Perhapse not maximum framerate in GPU limited scenarios but complex missions with lots of AI should load up your CPU some more.
  3. Kinda off topic, but the F-16 wingtips are pretty bendy, check out the angle of the 120s in the following pic. But regarding the screen... I'm sure DCS works at that resolution, But It might be excessively wide and cut off a lot of the cockpit, Like a BitMaster I'd probably go for a 4K. But it depends what you're after I suppose.
  4. The flight was flown of the cost of Southern California, I think I tested 28C at sea level and it got CAS and Mach very close at each altitude.
  5. Might be worth plugging it in and testing that all the pots are deadzone and jitter free and that the antenna elevation pot still has its centre detent, which often gets worn inside the pot. Also testing the micro stick to make sure it works as it should. Confirmation that everything is functioning well will make it much more attractive.

  7. This thread has already discovered one major bug. So let’s not dismiss this technique too much already ;). But yes I do understand what you mean. I would never suggest that ED change FM to match anything I am doing, I’d hope they would have access to or can get some more correct numbers on their end. But you have to admit, the simulated jet should probably not take 4x longer to go from mach 1.8 to 1.9 than a real jet which had less thrust and a smaller intake. Do I exactly know how fast it should be? No, but it shouldn’t hit a brick wall above mach 1.7 like it does, imho at least.
  8. Apologies, I meant default DCS mission editor settings. The DCS aircraft flies at a higher AoA to the one in the video at all speeds, If I ignore the FPM and only fly gun crosses I will not be flying the same altitude profile as shown in the video? Surely I’d end up far lower in altitude due to shallower climbs and steeper descents?
  9. Long press on Missile Step button (Otherwise known as nose-wheel steering button) will swap from Aim-9 to Aim-120 without leaving Dogfight mode.
  10. Sounds good. I’ll give it a go. Clean + no pylons, Correct?
  11. Pete Bonanni is a legend... with a moustache like that how could he not be. Hehe that was some nostalgia from the first combat sim I played.
  12. I mean if I adjust the temp so the CAS and Mach match at the same altitude as in the video then we should be good I suppose?
  13. How far are you letting the align progress before going to nav? Are you doing the stored heading align? Switch all the switches on, on the same panel as the INS knob?
  14. How can I find out external air temp from the sim? It was a standard day so 20C at sea level. No wind.
  15. Good point! I’ll try again to be smoother. I don’t think it will make much difference tbh as I never really loaded the aircraft up, but who knows. Also I was ignoring the gun cross completely and just flying the FPM because the two aircraft are flying at different AoA. So if if I put the gun cross in the same place as his I will not be climbing at the same angle as he was, If that makes any sense. If I’m tying to fly the same profile I would have thought it would make more sense to match the FPMs so if he’s in a 5 degree climb, so am I. If I match gun cross positions instead of FPM I will not climb as high but I will dive more steeply. I think that would make the test less representative?
  16. Cold and dark mission or hot/air start?
  17. I have the same issue with the F-14 canopy. Particularly bad in rain but it can be noticed all the time if you look carefully enough. Its not motion blur or a graphics engine bug due to frame rate. It moves around as I moves my head and is to do with the material that the F-14 canopy is made from. I fly in VR
  18. Very Good points... wonder if Tacview gives accurate speed readouts?
  19. Guess it took too long so you couldn't record a track? Do you think icing was the reason you managed the "1:49 from mach .88 to 2.00", which is insanely fast (that is to say that it was displaying erroneous Mach readings). Or do you think it was the wind bug BK has noticed? I'll give the mission a try on wednesday when I get a chance to play and hopefully record a track.
  20. Oh its easy... You just plug it in and then do a bit of... followed by... Resulting in... And... Not sure about the last two... Results may vary... But yeah, if you need any help give me a holla via PM.
  21. I'm waaaaaaay ahead of ya. - see my sig ;)
  22. Not that I'm trying to talk you out of it... but why are ya selling it?
  23. Interesting... Is this happening when you have your incredibly fast accelerations to M2 indicated?
  24. Yep bomb needs to be in CCRP mode for the Tpod to be slewable, and of course the Tpod screen needs to be SOI (denoted by the white line around the edge of the screen).
