No... constant wind doesn’t effect the way an aircraft flies once it’s airborne. It effects the ground track and ground speed but it doesn’t effect any other aspects of the flight model as was seen earlier with the F-16. Turbulence and changes in the wind speed/direction of course effect the aircraft but constant wind doesn’t.

I don’t bother re-entering and it seems to work fine?

Yeah I noticed that. I’ve had no problem confirming in stored heading align. Aligns exactly as expected, and I’ve had issue when not confirming so I dunno, I confirm and it works for me.

Generally you want to turn and put the target somewhere on your 3-9 line as soon as the weapon is released, this stops you getting closer to the target and possibly getting within Sam/manpad range. Depending on the fall time of the bomb you may want to make a shallow turn (10 degree bank) back towards the target to keep the target on the 3-9 line and stop it falling behind you and either ending up out of range of the laser or getting masked by the limits of the TPOD. This technique is specially useful if you toss an LGB for a bit of extra reach. I tend to only start lasering with about 10-15 secs of fall time left as the most efficient profile is to let the bomb go ballistic for a while. Flying directly at the target is going to quickly put the target behind you and possibly into a masked area so I would avoid that where possible. Even when bombing from high altitude I tend to turn after release because then after impact I can continue to the turn to put the target at my 6 to either leave the area or get space for another attack while staying on the friendly side of the target. Remember the closer you get to the target the harder time you're going to have keeping the TPOD out of its masking zones so using the stand-off range that the laser offers you is always helpful. Don't go much further than about 8 miles while actually firing the laser or you'll hit the limit of laser range.

Consequently, the position where it is is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was is now the position that it isn't.

Guys the process is really simple. 1. Switch the INS knob to NORM. 2. On the DED the INS page will come up. With the LAT field highlighted. 3. Press ENTR on the ICP to confirm the LAT coordinates (if they are correct) 4. Press Dobber Down on the ICP to highlight the next line (LNG) and hit ENTR on the ICP to confirm the LNG coordinates (if they are correct) 5. Repeat the above process to highlight the SALT (Altitude) field and confirm it as well using ENTR on the ICP. 6. Wait 8 ish mins until the top line of the INS page reads INS 08.5/ 6 RDY at which point switch the INS knob to NAV. 7. Go Fly! If you want to do a stored heading align (faster) the process is the same except you also have to confirm the stored heading info in addition to the rest and the alignment will only reach a precision of 10 rather then 6. If you don't know what the Dobber is, its this:
-
Hold the missile step button for a few seconds.
-
You don’t map it. You just hold the button for longer.

Do you need to trim to 11 degrees AOA for landing
Deano87 replied to SmoglessPanic's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I’d agree for most other aircraft except the F-16. -
I'd be interested to see what the ANG pilot was taught, but my brother was taught FPV with Stick and E-Bracket with throttle on the Vipers in Denmark. Also FPV aligned with top of E-bracket on approach so when you flare the FPV drops to the middle of the E-bracket.

Pfft. If you're going to buy it, just buy it and get it over and done with. Yes there are bugs and unfinished thing but its plenty flyable as it is.

If anybody can ride a bike or drive a car they can refuel in DCS, but like those two other activities it just requires practice. I have successfully tanked with the crappiest cheapest joystick ( Saitek Cyborg X) just to prove that it is possible without the gear I have in my VR sim cockpit. It’s not about “talent” it’s about perseverance and overcoming failure. I spent many many many hours learning to tank and I failed a lot, but it’s not meant to be easy. And the fine control and formation skills I learned along the way have helped in all other aspects of my flying, both simulated and IRL.

I’m gonna need to see the source on that. It’s been shown in multiple videos and press screenshots of the jet.

Yep.. Well remembered. https://www.nasa.gov/centers/dryden/history/pastprojects/PCA/index.html

Sounds like game mode or game avionics to me.

Wags/ED recommended Warthog stick settings?
Deano87 replied to Donut's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Probably not. Anything to do with controls gets moved in here, I think its more Controllers AND Input Bugs. The similar forum in the F-18 section is called "Controller Questions and Bugs" so its probably just a weirdly phrased forum title. -
No Problemo!

I believe thats ZULU time? Or UTC as its known.

Even Auto-startup you still need to align the jet. Start the jet. Set the INS knob to Norm Once the INS page comes up on the DED, confirm each line of the initial position (ICP Enter, dobber down, enter, dobber down, enter, dobber down etc until you've confirmed each line, lat, long and height). After about 8.5 mins the top line of the INS page on the DED should read INS 08.5 / 6 RDY, at that point turn the INS knob to NAV. It should work fine. You can do stored heading align as well, you need to confirm heading as well as Lat, Long and Height. The alignment on Stored heading will only reach 10 precision instead of 6. Both alignment procedures will result in a working tadpole.

Won’t happen. The UAE jets are totally different aircraft.

Ruddy, you can edit posts you know lol.
