I bought a (second hand) X52 Pro. After installing drivers and connecting the stick, I noticed that when I push the throttle forwards, the lights in the throttle arch are red. If I push beyond the "AB-detent", the lights turn green. From what I'm reading everywhere, this is the wrong way around: lights should be green in the first 3/4 of the movement, and turn red if pushed full throttle. What could have happend? Previous owner opened the thing and connected some wires the wrong way around perhaps? If yes, is this easily altered? TNX!

What kind of Headtracking system are you using?

Thanks for your very detailled answer!! I did the the math on the calcled also, but it gives me a resistor value of 5 (I have the SFH485P 100mA). So I guess I need to get another one. -

Mano, tnx for your addition. The solution of a usb-charger (I do have some lying around here) seems very attractive. However, if I check your pic of the device and charger (http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2362989&postcount=16) I don't see any resistors used? Could you give some more info about the resistor? (Ohm/W) and how you wire it including the leds? Something like this: http://www.free-track.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1856&page=2#12649 ? I still have (some) 30Ohm 1/4W resistors. Could I use this one? Or do I need the 22Ohm? In the scheme of the last example they use a 10Ohm resistor.. -
I can check where Conrad ships to, but stick only is about $159 here in NL: https://www.conrad.nl/nl/thrustmaster-hotas-warthog-vliegsimulator-joystick-usb-pc-zwart-1296724.html?WT.mc_id=gshop&gclid=COCFo9ik0sQCFeHLtAodYj8ALw&WT.srch=1

OK tnx! I'm planning to assemble it as described here: http://www.free-track.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1856&page=4 -
Help me decide if to buy a joystick ? And if so which one ?
GurbY replied to jfri's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not quite. PAC1 is engaged in the first stage, PAC2 in second stage. Ofcourse the A10C fires the gun in the second stage. But why not using the luxury of stabilizing the aircraft in PAC1..?? -

I ordered the same LED's. What I understand is using a floppy disc would be necessary after removing the IR filter, so to make sure there isn't any visible light left. Using the exposed film doesn't completely "lock-off" the cam from visible light but most of it is filtered, in a way that IR light still may be able to pass through. And what I read at http://www.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/17jdnj/freetrack_with_ps3_eye/ some even manage to get it working without a filter but only adjusting gain and exposure... -

I don't know exactly if I have the right (old) PS3 Eye toy, or the bad (new) version. However, what I read is that removing the IR filter is not perse necessary; with a visual light filter like exposed film it would pick up the IR leds. Does someone has some experience with this? I hope this week my clip is printed so I can start assembling... -

Mano, you think Freetrack works better than Opentrack? I'm busy making a headtracker and am looking forvthe best software to use... -
OK; will take a look at that; looks like I missed something... TNX!

I am rather new in DCS, bought a few modules and are becoming familiar with the A10C. I decided to try a multiplayer session to learn more tactics and how-to's. So I joined a server, and on a certain waypoint it said (in the HUD): Contact JTAC. I opened the MSG function ( \ ) and choose "JTAC". I called in and it started to say where I was, what armament etc. However: I never get an answer back? What am I doing wrong..?

This could indeed be the issue!! I have a rift dk2, but haven't been playing a while with the same reasons you mention. After the fresh install the option.lua must be overwritten and everything worked again...!

Oculus Rift DK2 + DCS World: How to get it working.
GurbY replied to arketype's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
1. Full screen. 2. I tried, but didn't get any results. So no, I don't stop any service. 3. After DCS started, I choose a mission and press FLY. After pressy FLY I switch the oculus on (extended mode, rift = prim display) 4. I don't stop the service. 5. Yes. -
In saved games/dcs world are the log files

Oculus Rift DK2 + DCS World: How to get it working.
GurbY replied to arketype's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This works for me 2, after a lot of trial and error. Still... I didn't adjust any settings; everything is maxed out and still I get an acceptable fps. LOVE IT!! -
Did again a fresh install and wiped the saved games dir. That did the trick somehow...
-
I got some weird errors while playing, some missions didn't start and DCS came back with "Cannot load mission briefing" or something similar. I did a repair, but no luck. I couldn't run a single mission. After that, I uninstalled DCS, deleted the saved game dir, and installed again. If I run the game now and choose "Instant Action - Cold start P51" (yes, I deactivated all my modules........ ), the game starts with the usual loading screen and goes back to the desktop. In the taskarea I see the DCS logo, but nothing happens. I have to go to taskmanager and stop DCS. After that, the game returns to the monitor. Here is the log, brought back to only the ERROR part: DCS.log: I don't know what to do anymore....
-
I'll send you the log. I tried, but exactly the same results... :(
-
Ok, will try and report tomroow! Tnx for all your time, man.....!!
-
I got it working!! Reinstalled runtime, checked demo as you said, and this time I saw orange lines representing the boundaries of the movement. Which I certainly didn't see before!! And... OMG... I can sit for hours in the A10C pit looking around.. just did a night flight, you ARE in the cockpit..
-
What do you mean with "bounding box"?
-
I found the cable wasn't plugged in completely... so I secured it, rebooted and... it worked...!! However, NO cam light is showing up..?? Furthermore, the movement doesn't correspond to the movement of my head; if I move backwards, the cam in the cockpit moves left... and so on... Nausious now...
-
I like it too. Especially in the Huey, man... that is really, really realistic when you take off...!! However, "out of the box" didn't work for me. Still some tryal and error switching on and off to get DCS right on the rift. And... still didn't manage to get 6DOF positional tracking. Left/right/up/down is ok, but if I move sidewards or front/back, nothing happens.... :-(
