Very true, I suppose it would be more accurate to say that the radar has not been released in a form that third party developers can make use of it in their modules, and until that happens, that is what's holding up the process.

The Hornet and also its radar so far as we know isn't done.
  3. Oh I'm not wondering who the other team is, I'm just wondering which post says that someone is working on it at all. I just want to be able to give accurate information in the future, and if there's a post that says definitively that someone is working on the module, I'd love to know about it.
  4. I speak English, Japanese and Bad English, not Russian, do you have a translation of the specific posts concerning the "other team" working on the project?
  5. I don't have a problem with paraphrasing, I've got a problem with changing what's said. It's very important to manage expectations, and there could be a dozen reasons of why RAZBAM working on the module wasn't according to ED's plans, but we shouldn't project our own desires onto what's actually said. Sith on occasion gives us insight into what ED is doing, so asking him to elaborate on something isn't out of line, the person asking just needs to know the question might not get answered.
  6. So am I correct in continuing to tell people that ED has not stated anyone is working on a MiG-23 or not?
  7. So at this time you will neither confirm nor deny that a MiG-23 is being actively worked on by ED or any of their partners?
  8. Saying that it's being done by someone else is an interpretation I'm not willing to make. Are you confirming SiThSpAwN that Wags' words should be interpreted as the project is being worked on by a third party developer?
  9. No, that's not what ED said. ED said that the project was not available. Anything beyond that is speculation.
  10. Hey Gos, I'm wondering, just out of pure curiosity. If the A-4E project ever were to go ahead as a full module, how much retreading would be required to upgrade the SFM to an EFM? Would all the rigging need to be redone or is that handled independently? Would it require completely redoing all the systems? I'm just asking 'cause I know that the MiG-19 project got picked up by RAZBAM and I was wondering about the potential shortcuts possible if full third party devs ended up taking over for some of the SFM mods we've got these days. Sort of if it would make more sense to snap them up early to minimize having to redo work, or if most of the work already done would simply transfer over?
  11. Can we please get some more good quality shots of the Maverick sight? It's been criminally neglected in all the promotional material so far except for the single shot in the Mudspike preview.
  12. Isn't there a force Launch Authority button on the SU-25T that lets you fire without a lock?
  13. As far as i know there's no intention on making this project an official 3rd Party Module. It's a passion project and a bit of an audition piece, but I would assume they don't have the funds set aside for a new company, sought legal counsel for licensing the project, how or advanced flight model coder to do so. It would be nice if ED made the SDK a little more flexible to encourage projects like these, but those of us interested are just spitballing ideas to see how much can be fudged with what is available.
  14. Could such a LOAL system also work for Shrikes?
  15. Gos, you said that without the full SDK you can't allow for lock on indications, so things like a Sidewinder growl and the like. I want to ask though, does that prevent lock on in general? Even without the growl, would a sidewinder be able to lock to a target if fired from the Skyhawk? And on a slightly similar vein, would the Shrike be able to lock onto a radar even if there was no growl for it? I ask because if I recall correctly, Shrikes had to be set up on the ground to go after a specific target, and even then the only indication was a growl like the Sidewinder gives. If the weapon can lock on, even without indicating that it has, or could lock on after launch, that would still be very worth it on the player side, even if it would mean making quite a few Shrikes coded to attack different kinds of targets. Now of course this wouldn't be very accurate, but Shrikes weren't useful outside of like, 10 miles anyway, and if the RWR works, then that'd be more than enough... Speaking of which, have you guys figured out if the RWR will work?
  16. Because Streak Eagles have a reputation for being expensive, and this debacle isn't about actual value, it's about public perception.
  17. The resources you're talking about reference an article that has unclear language, stating that the Nighthawks were working with F-16s. Who was armed with AGM-88s and the whatnot is very unclear in the article, leading to some places assuming that it was the Nighthawks. This as far as everything I know is inaccurate. F-117As can only carry Mk.80 series bombs and their smart derivatives, and only 2. Oh, and also the B61, but that doesn't really count.
  18. Not stealth, not STOVL, shorter range.
  19. Cat's out of the bag now, no point in trying to stuff it back in.
  20. Firmek posted the link to the unlisted video on ED's youtube page posted today. Dates are in the description. I think we got 'em this time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Otn7QwzmbGk&feature=share Kind of a shame in this case since it's not LNs fault by being too much of a tease this time like the Steam leak.
  21. The F-104 is Fuuuuugly. The Yak is at least quirky with VTOL. not really a fan of anything on this list, but if I had to choose, I'll choose quirky.
  22. I voted Yak as well. It's not sexy, but it is fairly interesting, and STOVL. Would be a nice addition. The folks voting for the F-104 need their head examined.
  23. I'm not willing to make the leap of logic required to interpret Prowler's response as an assurance that the Harrier will be coming before the Tucano. Stated roadmap has been, and still is; Tucano first, Harrier second. Until Prowler explicitly comes out and says "We're releasing the Harrier before the Tucano", i'm not going to put words in his mouth. I'm afraid I can't share your interest. yet another underpowered trainer equivalent is the last thing we need. The Harrier is faster, more capable, hauls more weapons of greater variety and has more numerous and interesting systems. I'm actively against the idea of encouraging civilian aircraft in DCS. There are several full fidelity flight simulators for civilian traffic. Without even mentioning their vast superiority in handling the civilian side of things, the military sim market is a very small niche that I would prefer see grow, rather than strangled out by yet more piper cubs, and yet another Boeing.

The A-6 is on hold until ED releases their F/A-18C. The specific reason is RAZBAM intends to make use of ED's ground radar code. Therefore, any module that RAZBAM has announced that requires ground radar will not be released or focused on until after the F/A-18C release.
  25. It will be RAZBAM's next released module. But because it's just a Tucano, there's a large number of us who have no interest in discussing it since the Harrier was announced to be coming out shortly after the Tucano. Besides, no point in really releasing much info now with the current Spitfire release and LN's Viggen Promotional push. There will likely be an end of year update, but for now, status quo, nothing to see here.
