Very disappointing...I will say this I would much rather have a work in progress that is usable than wait for an absolutely perfect product...I guess here's hoping we see something in 2016. Maybe need to check out P3D...

1. How did you learn about DCS? Reconnected with playing flight Sims this year after a long layoff. Used to play everything. 2. When did you first learn about the F-14? My uncle who was a pilot and Engineer for Sikorsky found out I loved aviation and would always send books and models. 3. What made you fall in love with the F-14? The movie Final Countdown 4. Any backstories of seeing the Top Gun movie for the first time? My older sister 17 at the time had to go see it in the theater because of Tom Cruise...I had to sell my soul to get her to take her 11 yr old brother with her! 5. Did any of you really fly/RIO in an F-14? No really wish I had. I've seen and sat in them in person many times including a Tiger Cruise I got to take on the Carl Vinson in 1989. Got to spend time on the flight deck while they were launching and recovering aircraft. It was amazing! Got launched off in a C2 at the end and flew into San Diego. The coolest things I did as a kid!

Hmm so there's a stop point but you can push through it? Would love to see a pic of what you did to the detent! That's what I need to do.

I personally would prefer the shutoff to still be a lift over setup. But detects that we can push through for afterburner would be awesome!

I don't believe any game works in SLI windowed mode well. By design SLI is not supposed to be run in windowed mode from what I've read.

Hoping we see DCS 2 in the next month or so...almost to the halfway point of the year. I know it wasn't promised but hopefully something actually finishes on time this year. Be nice to have a new toy...and really nice to have a plane that's not a Trainer(another thing I'm hoping for) released lol

I can't agree at all. We hardly get any word out of DCS except a sporadic update with few details and still little to no real knowledge on release dates of modules like the F-18(could be another 2years at this rate lol). Leatherneck has released photos, answered questions and in general given us more info than any other module builder. Would I love to see more? Sure but I'm also happy and thankful for what they have been releasing...oh and BTW if you read their last update more closely Cobra said they would go away from monthly updates and do more frequent smaller progress updates as things happen...that's actually more info coming our way rather than less.

So following a design I got from SageOT I changed from stacked wooded discs to a 4" PVC for my stick mount. I raised it a bit too.. Nice and stable and a nice change...

I'm interested to see what you come up with and certainly interested in the price point. Good luck with it...I'll be following.

Yes I would imagine they will post an update when their site is up and live with F-14 stuff... Leatherneck has certainly been the best I've seen at keeping us updated.

Majors and Colonels don't fly F-14s...Not buying this engagement story at all... also we didn't deploy F-14s with 6 AIM-54s...I know it was done in pictures but that wouldn't be a combat loadout...

I'm sorry buy just going fast isn't going to win the MIG 25/31 any battles. It will help it escape...but not shoot anything down. Look at what happened in the Gulf War. Fact is the MIG was built for speed but it doesn't have good avionics or performance outside of that straight line speed. And the ability to go Mach 2.8-3 didn't do them any good against F-15s...and there are a lot of reports it didn't help it much against Iranian F-14s either...

I don't think that is a F-4...it look's like a P38 lighting for sure in the bottom left corner...

While I think the Mig25 and 31 might be close on paper it shouldn't be a comparison at all in the air. That MIG airframe was terrible and couldn't turn to save it's life. It sure made us design the F-15 because we thought it was a threat...till one defected and we saw it was nothing to fear at all. If your intercepting big bombers the Mig might be a decent choice but even then it would likely fall short. If you were going into a fight with other fighters it would be no comparison at all....F-14 any day!

Completely agree...for them to model the F-14A from the 70s and the F-14B from the early 90s would likely negate a lot of commonalities that make things work for them. I'm sure the late 80s Tomcat is much more capable than the 1976 IRIAF Tomcats especially with many of them likely not in flying condition and given the fact we took out some classified 1976 avionics when they were sold anyway. In any event this release will be one of the biggest if not the biggest seller in DCS history and I will be preordering at soon as that is an option:D

I see a pretty significant boost 35-40% Running SLI with the GTX 970. It was very finicky to setup. I ran into problem after problem running 4K @60Hz with HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0 on my Vizio 4K. Did some reading and discovered it was a known issue at Nvidia. One of the suggestions as to set the refresh at 59Hz. I tried that and it works perfectly.

It should include the LANTIRN I would hope as that came around 92 I think. The LANTIRN 40k was induced in 2001.

Interesting. Your getting a a higher Max FPS but lower min FPS than I am with SLI Gtx 970s at 4K..

Wow thank you for an amazing update! And thank you thank you for going for a Mid 90s F-14B with Air to Ground capabilities. If it can deliver smart munitions it's going to be real tough to ever peel me away from the tomcat. As it's my favorite childhood fighter!
