Great work Sokol! I'll do it in next few days. Can you just verify that it is Top Gun? Can you make photos of inside of top gun stick? -

OK Sokol. Thank you. Did you measure this with caliper? I need 0.1mm precision. -

Yes, I meant to tell you that. SMD is great but you have to be precise as industrial robot. Is it possible to transform your design with "normal size" trough hole components? It would be more suitable for beginners. -

Hi Sergey, did you test PCBs? -

Thank you Sokol, all those grips probably have same tailpiece. We'll se when you take measurments. Desiging grips takes a lot of time. I know that people want them, but printing grips wouldn't be cheap and it would require some DIY. What is most desired grip? I am just curious. -

There are a few other TM joysticks with B8 grip from 90s. I think X-fighter is the only in full size. Soklol1 will know better. They all probably have similar tailpieces, so if somebody is willing to make measurments or maybe donate old stick I can make tailpiece for all of them. -

I don't plan to produce a gip at the moment. Maybe some day. At the momemt my plan is to design tailpieces and electronics and other smaller parts for existing grips. Designing complete grip is not an easy thing, -

Pcb will be inside grip and will be connected to base directly. I'll test this soon I promise. -

I made another tailpiece. This time for old Thrustmaster's gameport joystick X-Fighter. It has 1:1 B8 grip that can be easily installed on Warthog or Cougar. It can still be found on eBay. I bought mine for a few dollars. Here is tailpiece/adapter: This grip needs Shift register PCB and few electronic components and Gardena nut, metal or plastic. I'll make a tutorial in next few days. -

Hello everybody! I am back to this, it was busy summer, but now it is over and I have more time to work on my projects. I wanted to make a few modifications on my SFS throttle. I didn't like diode matrix and bunch of wires inside. I decided to switch to shift registers, it is more elegant solution. For that reason I made this shield. It is modular design. On the left goes Leonardo ProMicro, i the middle amplifier for thumb-stick and on the right 8 bit shift register board that will be daisy chained with shift register from right grip. First of all I wanted to see if amplifier is working. I made it in June but i tested it today. I didn't want to disassemble my throttle so I did it like this: It is messy but it will be much cleaner soon. Amplifier works!!! It is great news, because now PS3 thumbstick will be usable. Without amplifier it has very low resolution. On 10 bits maybe 17-18 points for each axis. It is a bit better when over sampled 14 bits but still not so good. I also don't have full range of mechanical motion due to construction right grip. With amplifier I got around 100 points on 10 bits, and when over sampled it worked well. I will tweak it more, I made voltage measurements and I'll make a few simulations in LT Spice and try to get even better range. You can see how it worked when calibrated in MMjoy2. Here is schematics. If somebody has any better Idea please say it. PCB can be bought HERE. -
I am looking for original cougar gimbal. It is OK if it broken or in terrible shape. Thank you!

Hi! I want to buy TM Cougar base only. I don't need grip or electronics, just base. If you have it somewhere in a pieces now you can sell it to me! I am also looking for TM F22 pro. I live in Croatia. Thank you!

I didn't understand this. If you make good measurments I can make it in 3D. TQS and cougar are simillar but I don't know if they are identical. -

Unfortunately I don't have Cougar, I have older version TQS. I don't know If parts are of same dimensions. If you are willing to make measurements, than I can do it. Just take caliper an measure like in few earlier posts. -

This not a problem if you know how to disassemble it and make measurements. Than I can do it. Please show in photo the switch that you want to mod and post an example or drawing. -

Thank you for your measurements! I updated the model. Shapeways added a new material, Black Hi-Def Acrylate. You can see it here: It is DMS knob. Finish is much more smoother, also much finer detail is possible with this material. I added option for it in my shop, only on knobs and buttons and paddle lever for FLCS and Cougar. Material is not as strong as nylon, I would use it for tailpieces, only in places where aesthetic is needed. Unfortunately it is 2-3 times more expensive, but cheaper than metal. DMS knob in nylon costs $5.64, and in acrylate $12.87. -
Can somebody post photos of Gladiator's tailpiece?
-
We can make an adapter for Warthog in comunity. 3D printing works very well. If Warthog is too heavy, FLCS grip will 100% work. All I need is a few measurments...

Thank you for your feedback! I made a new model, I did it strictly to your measurements. Before I had problem with wall thickness. Two walls were to thin and I simply copied FLCS button, I thought it would be good enough. I removed notch because of wall thickens and because I think it is not necessary. Metal materials are removed, metal has even larger minimum wall thickness. You wrote that you had made modifications. Can you post photo of that mod? New model is HERE: Can you make measurements for this button? Thank you! Save Save -
You should try shift registers, I stopped using matrix, too many wires. You have large pcb, you can fit SR on it easily. You only need 5 wires from PCB to Pro micro. I can send Eagle files if you need them.

Great work, I am so happy that it worked out fine. I got a news from Shapeways. Soon a new material is comming, black hi definition acrylate. It is as name says black colored plastic that has much nicer finish. It looks like something from factory, great for knobs. It is not strong as nylon. I made a knob for warthog, the one I posted before. It looks great. I could print in this material for myself but I couldn't sell it. Soon it will be in my store.
