  1. I.... just tried again. I have no idea, but it's working for me now......... doctor!!!
  2. I'm not sure if this only just appeared, but I've only just noticed this. In the ME the Tape Measure no longer shows the true bearing degrees when measuring.
  3. This! I went through all announcements since the beginning of the year, and the portable TACAN unit was never mentioned. Please announce this retroactively for all to enjoy.
  4. I haven't looked closely at this one. The one from SUNTSAG is based on a KC-130 IIRC and you cas set the power output, default being 100w. Maybe the official one can have the power output set was well. If so, pump it up to 500w or 1000w if you need that distance. Actually I don't think you do. You should know approximately where it is setup, like within 10-15 miles. If you're 50 miles away you should be able to dead-recon to get close enough to get a solid signal.
  5. Ahhh yes, so I guess I've answered my own questions. TACAN is only on Incirlik airfield. No others have TACAN. You cannot see the TACAN nor other navigational assistance info in the ME, only from within mission :( Portable TACAN is there in the ME as =52d= Skip stated. It's official - not a mod :D .... ED never announced it - I looked through all updates since January; not a word about it
  6. Wait... whaaa?!?! Is that official? So not the SUNTSAG mod?
  7. Thanks for the answers. How do I find out what channels they use?
  8. So, do any bases have TACAN? I've already read that Syrian airfields have the Russian built equivalent, but what about Israeli and Turkic airfields?
  9. 90% of the Argentinian coast will be completely uninteresting with regards to the Falklands War. If anyone complains that the areas beyond airfields is not pretty enough, they should go buy MS FS2020 and have fun. Who cares about such moaners who are not interested in what the product is offering, only to whine that it doesn't contain things completely irrelevant to what the product is trying to provide? Let's keep our feet on the ground and not worry about uninteresting opinions.
  10. It's "sticking" because the flaps switch is not being read and acted upon correctly. I set the keyboard controls for Cruise-Auto-STOL to my arrow-down key and STOL-Auto-Cruise to my arrow-up key. Using the keys to go from one extreme to the other (either direction), pressing as fast as I can, and it always works. Only doing the same with the flaps switch doesn't work.
  11. I asked once if it would not be better if the Caucasus map were oriented along the Black Sea coast; ie the top of the map would be approximately at about 30-40°. The answer I got was that it is not possible, because the engine doesn't allow for it. Also note, even if landmass is included in a map, it doesn't have to be fully detailed. The original Normandy map had only the few airfields in England fully detailed (if you could call it that), while the rest was a very vague, indeterminate texture, which costs little memory.
  12. What? You mean it's NOT supposed to look like that all the time
  13. Did you simply modify the original line? Did you copy the original line to a new line and then modify the new line? Did you comment out the old line using 2 dashes (--) without parenthesis? Did you do all this while DCS was shut down? Did you edit the default.lua file in place; in other words, did you edit the original file within the 'C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World...' folder structure and then save the changes without choosing a new save location? Personally I used OMM (Open Mod Manager) to implement mods, but until very recently I used OvGME, which works just as well. I left the original line untouched and simply added my new line in, with only the 'value_down', 'value_up', and 'name' parameters having been changed. { down = gear_commands.LaunchBarSw, up = gear_commands.LaunchBarSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.GEAR_INTERFACE, value_down = -1.0, value_up = 1.0, name = _('Launch Bar Control Switch - EXTEND else RETRACT'), category = {_('Left Vertical Panel')}}, Of course under CONTROLS I bind only the new 'name', instead of the old.
  14. Is that one piece? I've never seen the long mats clipping underground, but I have seen them riding up into the air. The problem is, the ground has to be sooooo flat that you cannot measure it by eyeball. I've had a long mat riding up above the ground about 2 feet on a piece of ground I could swear was absolutely level. If the long mat is about 600 feet and one end is 2 feet in the air, that's 0.3% variation on the ground, and that's the basic problem with the mats. All that I know of that you can do is just try different pieces of ground and hope to find the right place.
  15. It may be that there is some reference to the speed of the animations influencing the reading of the switch state, and I know that if you push the switch one position and pause before I push further to the next position, that it works. I said that in the very first post. The issue is that there are times when I need to change the setting NOW and not play patty-cakes with the switch because it doesn't work properly. If RAZBAM has a problem with the animation not keeping up with the switch state, that's a RAZBAM problem, not mine, and I respectfully request to have the issue fixed. Thank you.
  16. ALL modules I know of autostart with LWin+Home and auto-shutdown with LWin+End.
  17. I wouldn't even ask for anything other than 'wheels on the ground, engines off', and that's all the we need.
  18. The real world REC {[Radar Elevation Control (REC) per the NATOPS manual] so much to the premise, ED always knows best} is on the front of the right throttle lever. It is absolutely natural to pull the switch upward to elevate the radar antenna setting, and visa-versa. The NATOPS does not reference moving the switch up or down. Without a specific NATOPS reference, customer are left to decide for themselves what they would prefer. I have not requested that a change be made, which forces all to use the REC the same way I wish to use it. I requested an option to set the REC for zoom-in and -out per the wishes of the user. That takes nothing from anyone, but gives everyone the ability to insure their own preference. I hope ED will take this RFI seriously and implement it expediently, for everyone's benefit. Thank you.
  19. Of course you can add, delete, and edit waypoints from within the cockpit, but it can be a huge chore, is prone to mistakes and having a simple tool would change it from being a Pain-In-The-Ass chore to just an easy step in pre-flight planning. I don't buy the excuse that everyone just wants to furball. Maybe it's just the servers you like to visit. Not my problem. I have no idea what ED has in mind for a SP Mission Planner for MP. Maybe exactly what I'm requesting. All the better. Can it be here yesterday already? Reminds me of the tourettes support group's chant: Leader: What do we want?! Group: A cure for tourettes! Leader: When do we want it?! Group: F*ck!! :D
  20. I have a TM Warthog HOTAS and use the throttle coolie switch up and down to control the Antenna Elevations up and down, and it works like a charm :) But the assigned coolie switch is then automatically also the TGP zoom-in and -out switch, because on the Real-World™ Hornet HOTAS the Antenna Switch doubles as the TGP zoom-in/out switch, which .. fine, ofc, why not. Coolie switch up for antenna up and coolie switch down for antenna down is intuitive and ergonomic. It's easy to use. But then using the coolie switch to zoom the TGP I have to pull the coolie switch upwards to zoom-in, and push it downwards to zoom-out. To me, this is logically backwards, but I guess others may have a different opinion. So I'm proposing an RFI to add as special setting for deciding which way the Antenna Elevation Switch zooms-in and -out. One setting: Up = Zoom-In Down = Zoom-Out The other setting: Up = Zoom-Out Down = Zoom-In It can be put in the special setting section the same as the Realistic TDC setting. Thank you.
  21. Yeahhhhhh no. That's arguing for mediocrity. It's only software, a program, an algorithm. It can be changed by modifying some text in a file and voila you have a setting for switching which direction the zoom is. It's that simple.
  22. Arise from the dead oh evil thread - obey and ARISE!! :D Dynamic MP campaigns are getting more and more common these days (see Hoggit or 4YA). With more and more aircraft using more and more complex weapons, the concept of 'just fly to there and drop your bombs' is quickly becoming archaic. To be able to easily manage your self-selected missions in such and environment, we need a way to setup mission waypoints easily and quickly from within the running game. I think setting up waypoints on the F10 map would be the easiest possibility. - Allow only when aircraft is parked with engines off. - Allow editing (moving, adding, and deleting) waypoints the same as in the ME. - Make everyone ecstatically happy. - Profit. :D But seriously, this would be such a great improvement in the MP environment
  23. BALT will take you out of a very shallow dive or climb (well under 5° from my experience), but if your dive or climb is too steep, BALT will simply not engage.
  24. It already does. I've been doing that from the get-go. You must have the indents mounted to the rear and have them configured. Go to category Throttle Quadrant and have your throttles levers pulled back to the indents, but not over them. Double-click the settings box under throttle - hotas for "Throttle (Left) - OFF/IDLE". When the pop-up appears, lift and pull the left throttle lever back to the full stop - it will assign JOY_BTN30 to the bind. Do the same for the right throttle, assigning JOY_BTN29 to "Throttle (Right) - OFF/IDLE".
  25. But I already use DMS for something else on multiple aircraft
